Cold Chisel have released a new single. 'All For You', the Australian band's first single in 13 years, was the last song that they recorded with drummer Steve Prestwich before he died from a brain tumour in January this year. Don Walker told The Daily Telegraph: "This is the last recording we made with Steve so it makes it pretty special for us." The pianist wrote the song in 2009 before the group decided to reunite, but said that he knew the song was made for them. "I think the story in the song is very Cold Chisel," he further explained. "I guess I could hear (more)...

Our detailed look back over the non-Bond scores of John Barry continues with a look at his work between the years 1968 to 1979…
In the third part of our John Barry retrospective, we enter the late 60s and a surge of activity that would typify the composer’s output for nearly two decades. Despite the exacting nature of his commissions, he continued to build on his reputation with a succession of quality scores that stockpiled brilliant and unexpected surprises on top of unprecedented new ground. But all the while, he continued to strive for authenticity of arrangement and sincerity of expression. This phase demonstrates his broadening outlook but also reflects, in a profound way, the diversity of his musical influences.
His early output took inspiration from both the rhythm and blues of The Barry Seven and the popular rhythms of the time, such as Gene Vincent and American guitarist Duane Eddy,...

Steve Prestwich, who was the drummer for Aussie rock legends Cold Chisel, has passed away at the age of 56. He was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor, but was unable to regain consciousness following surgery.
Prestwich, originally born in England, moved to Australia in the 1970s and eventually joined forces with Jimmy Barnes, Don Walker, and Ian Moss to form Cold Chisel. The band was a major influence on the hard rock scene in Australia (and indeed, on Aussie culture in general), and are often seen as one of many bands that helped bring Aussie rock to the world stage.
Cold Chisel was formed in 1973, initially as an early metal group performing covers of Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. Using their metal and hard rock influences, the band evolved with their own original material - coming up with a sounds that many people identified with "Aussie Pub Rock" and songs...

If an industry can streamline its distribution network, CO2 emissions (and overall energy use) will probably drop as a result. That's why Ibm is working with McKesson--a Fortune 500 company that supplies and transports a third of all prescription drugs used in North America--to improve its distribution network, supply planning, inventory positioning, vehicle routing and more.
McKesson will use Ibm's Supply Chain Sustainability Management Solution (Scsm), a new web-based analytics platform that leverages sales, supply chain, and geographic data to come up with "what if" scenarios for the company's decision-making. Everything is taken into account--from warehouse hours of operation to the energy consumption of forklifts. Ibm explains:
McKesson could use the system to determine the value of keeping pharmaceuticals that need to be kept cold, such as insulin in one central refrigeration facility. The engines in the tool calculate the inventory cost and the potential reduction in carbon emissions against the...
