Vice TV has picked up a new unscripted basketball docuseries produced with Uninterrupted, the athlete storytelling brand founded by LeBron James’ and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Company, and My Entertainment.
The eight-episode series, titled “Uninterrupted: The Real Stories of Basketball,” explores iconic moments, players and stories from inside basketball. Vice TV is set to premiere the series on June 4.
“As a lifelong student of the game and all of its iconic history and culture, I’m excited about this series that relives some of basketball’s biggest moments and the stories behind them for a whole new generation to experience,” James said in a statement.
The docuseries will highlight stories through firsthand accounts from pro basketball hall of famers, NBA champions and all-stars including Jason Kidd, Bill Laimbeer, Gary Payton, Bill Walton, Shawn Kemp, Richard Jefferson, Kenyon Martin, Detlef Schrempf and Spud Webb.

The ex-nba star took on guys like Clinton Portis, Santana Moss, Ron Harper and Dr. J at the grand opening of the Live! Casino and Hotel in Maryland. Webb was the last (and shortest) man standing when all the cards fell ... winning the $5,000 grand prize,...

Saturday Night Live’s epic farewell to Stefon — the absurd masterpiece played for five seasons by Bill Hader — had Everything: human parking cones, Black George Washington, Jupids, Furkels, even DJ Baby Bok Choy, “a giant 300-pound Chinese baby who wears tinted aviator glasses and spins records with his little ravioli hands.”
So naturally, putting the clip together was a massive undertaking — and an especially emotional one for departing cast member Hader, who left NBC’s comedy institution this spring after eight years. (Soon, Stefon’s entire team will be gone for good: Hader’s writing partner John Mulaney exited the...

During the regular TV season, I spend many a Sunday morning recapping the previous evening’s Saturday Night Live. With the show in hibernation till fall, I thought this weekend I’d take a trip down Recent Memory Lane and count down the 10 best sketches of Season 37. From a Kermit the Frog encounter to an all-star Weekend Update, here are my picks:
10. Arlene” (Oct. 1, 2011) | Melissa McCarthy as a frumpy office worker sexually harassing Jason Sudeikis’s mortified married man wasn’t the world’s freshest concept, but the guest host’s commitment to the comedic cause — and her outrageous use...

Who’s ready for some hoops? The reigning hardwood extravaganza, NBA 2K is coming back for another go round this Fall.
2K Sports has announced that NBA 2K13 will be officially released on October 2, 2012 (with an October 5 international release date). That falls in line with past release dates and allows you to get in the B-ball spirit before the real NBA season starts in late October/early November.
But there will be a special bonus for those that get their preorders in: they’ll have access to an NBA All-Star Game Dlc pack (set in Houston) that 2K Sports promises will add some ‘depth and value’ to the game. This mode will allow gamers to pit current NBA players against classic ones in both the 3-Point contest and the Slam Dunk Contest. This actually sounds pretty cool; can you imagine a dunk contest with the likes of Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins,...

This might be the weirdest thing we've seen in a long time. Former NBA star Dennis Rodman, who used to be all over the news for his crazy antics, has been relatively low-key in the past few years. But not anymore.
Rodman tells the New York Post he is going to coach a topless women's basketball team for Headquarters Gentlemen's Club, a strip club in New York City. He came up with the idea after learning that rival strip club Rick's Cabaret launched a league with former NBA-er Spud Webb.
They are currently scouting for girls over 5'10'' to join the team. Auditions are coming up at Headquarters.
Rodman tells the Post, "I don't know too many men that don't like a good-looking woman running up and down around the court ... You don't have to have too much experience, just know how to throw the ball into the hole.

As 2011 swings around to its inevitable conclusion, the Rubbernecker feels the need (okay, you can call it an addiction) to fete this year's TV glories and gories. And there were quite a few of each. As you may know I have a fondness for the ticky-tacky known as Reality Television, I so love the term because it's so not anyone's reality I've ever known. So this recap will examine first the ridiculous... then the sublime.
Best Reality Show Of 2011 (and it is, actually, a Reality Show)
Hands down, this would be the Gop debates we've had occasion to scope in the latter part of the annum. I mean, what can one say? This has been such a delicious treat! And it's only getting more interesting as the wheat separates from the chaff. Only there really is no wheat amongst this motley crew... just chaff. I'll see you in Iowa next...

It’s unfortunate, but entirely fitting, that Katy Perry’s final moment hosting this week’s Saturday Night Live found her plummeting to her death down an empty elevator shaft. After all, Perry may not exactly be a threat to, say, Melissa McCarthy or Julia Louis-Dreyfus or Maya Rudolph among the nation’s leading comic actresses, but the show’s writers essentially pulled the floor out from under her — saddling her with bland roles in several woeful sketches, and allowing her only a few seconds to shine in the skits that actually worked.
Perry was particularly funny channeling Florence and the Machine...

Former NBA great Spud Webb is pulling out of stripper basketball -- and, oddly, his rep says the whole head coaching gig was merely an "ill-fated attempt at humor." In a statement, Spud's rep says ... "Contrary to reports, Spud Webb will not be coaching the Rick's Cabaret/New York Stripper Basketball Team." The rep adds the announcement was taken out of context. We'll say this ... Spud didn't seem like he was joking when we shot...

At the end of Jake Gyllenhaal's interview on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11Pm Et on Comedy central) Jon Stewart asked him, "Are we going to hang out and play basketball at some point soon?"
"No we're not because you never called me back," Gyllenhaal responded, and then reminded Stewart that the last time he was on the show Stewart made the same basketball offer, but apparently didn't follow through.
"I was actually on the Conan O'Brien show the other day and I likened him to the Abraham Lincoln of talk show hosts," Gyllenhaal continued. "You, I liken to the Spud Webb of talk show hosts. So, yes, I would love actually to play basketball with you."
