Michelle Williams starred with Christina Ricci in the 2001 drama film Prozac Nation. Portraying Ruby, a Harvard roommate of Elizabeth “Lizzie” Wurtzel (Christina Ricci), she only had a few lines in the movie.

Born on February 12, 1980, in Santa Monica, California, Ricci was just 20 years old when filming the nude scenes for Prozac Nation.
Just a few months younger, Michelle Williams was born on September 9, 1980, in Kalispell, Montana, and celebrated her 21st birthday on September 9, 2001.
During the filming of the nude scene in Prozac Nation, Christina Ricci’s co-star, Michelle Williams, provided support by monitoring the footage. She ensured Christina felt comfortable with how she was being portrayed by watching the scene unfold on the screen and reassuring her that everything looked appropriate.

A few months ago, I wrote an article listing ten movies that – despite being well known – were difficult to find (legally) on any streaming service or even on disc. Those titles ranged from Ron Howard’s Cocoon to movies like Dawn of the Dead (the original). In the comments, many of our readers chimed in with their two cents on films they’ve found difficult to find over the years, so here are a few more challenging-to-find flicks, some of which may surprise you.
Panic Room:
The fact that David Fincher’s Panic Room has never been issued on Blu-ray blows me away. It’s been announced a few times, but a physical release never seems to happen (although you can stream it in HD pretty easily). What gives? You’d think the fact that it has Fincher’s name on it, and stars Jodie Foster, Kristen Stewart, Forest Whitaker,...

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction has been overturned by New York’s top appeals court.
After an appeal process, the court found there were “egregious errors” committed in the original trial, according to the Associated Press, including the court’s allowance of testimony from three women speaking to “uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts” that were unrelated to the rape charge. The argument from Weinstein’s side is that the Miramax founder could not take the stand in his defense on the actual charges without also being cross-examined on the uncharged accusations.
The New York Court of Appeals vote was a close one: Weinstein’s conviction was overturned 4-3.
“We conclude that the trial court erroneously admitted testimony of uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes,” the majority decision said. “The remedy for these egregious errors is a new trial.

After desperately clinging to his dream project, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, when the film got postponed by decades, Terry Gilliam shifted his focus to The Brothers Grimm. Making a winning combination from the start, Gilliam used his specialization in the bleak and strange to turn Heath Ledger and Matt Damon’s 2005 movie into the most beloved, dark fairy tales of all time.
Matt Damon in The Brothers Grimm
Although The Brothers Grimm featured a stellar cast including Jonathan Pryce, Monica Bellucci, Lena Headey, and more, it was reported that Terry Gilliam initially wanted Johnny Depp instead of Matt Damon. Considering Gilliam’s preference towards Depp, even Damon was baffled when he was hired for the $105M movie, in place of the Pirates star.

This is going to stun anyone who grew up on 21st century superhero cinema (which kicked off in 2000 with Bryan Singer's "X-Men" and only now seems to be on the wane), but what if I told you that in the 1970s, there were television series dedicated to the Hulk, Wonder Woman, and Spider-Man, and they weren't the main small-screen pop cultural obsessions for sci-fi/fantasy fans? Not even close.
This is because every kid in America was crazy about "The Six Million Dollar Man."
Based on the novel "Cyborg" by Martin Caidin, "The Six Million Dollar Man" starred Lee Majors as astronaut Steve Austin, who's saved from certain death after the crash of an experimental aircraft when he is transformed into an experimental superhuman being via bionic implants. As the show's opening credits reminded us every week, these scientists made Majors "bigger, stronger, faster." He was as powerful as a bulldozer,...

Jon Glickman is in talks to become the next CEO of Miramax Films. a post that has been vacant since Bill Block exited last fall.
Glickman left MGM and formed Panoramic, a monied venture that would be acquired as part of the deal if it makes, our sister publication THR reported and Deadline confirmed. We’ve heard there has been at least one more candidate, so it is not clear at this moment if the deal will close.
A well liked seasoned production executive, Glickman ran Spyglass for a decade before his run at MGM. He was very involved in the Daniel Craig James Bond films, and the Creed films.
Block’s contract was not renewed by Miramax, which is 51% owned by beIN and 49% by Paramount Global. While the company’s profits grew and films like the Halloween relaunch, The Gentlemen, The Beekeeper, and the Best Picture nominated Alexander Payne-directed The Holdovers,...

Miramax may have found its new leader. Jonathan Glickman, the former MGM executive, is in talks to join Miramax as its CEO, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
He would step in for former CEO Bill Block, who departed last year after a six-year run.
Glickman served as motion group president at MGM for nine years, where under his tenure, James Bond became a billion-dollar franchise. He also shepherded the rejuvenation of the Rocky franchise, relaunching it as the Creed movie series starring Michael B. Jordan. He departed the studio at the top of 2020 for a first-look producing deal with MGM, and two years later launched Panoramic Media.
As part of his deal to become CEO, Miramax would acquire Panoramic, which has its hand in several noteworthy properties, including the Addams Family animated movies and the Netflix Addams-centric series Wednesday, which helped propel star Jenna Ortega to the A-list.

In World Wrestling Entertainment, the period from July 22, 2008, to March 22, 2014, remains known as the "PG era," owing to how Vince McMahon adjusted the content to achieve a TV-pg rating after the TV-14 fare in the so-called "Attitude" and "Relentless Aggression" eras of the 1990s and early-to-mid 2000s. (via Sportscaster)
WWE had caught up with Hollywood, where a similar wave of chlorine had washed over mainstream cinema and sanitized dozens of projects including "Live Free or Die Hard," "Terminator Salvation," "Hancock," and "Fired Up." These films and many more were stripped of violence, swearing, and sexuality in order for the MPA to grant the studios a PG-13 rating and access to the lucrative teen demographic. Such money-mindedness proved bad enough for the action and comedy genres, but it was arguably even worse for horror filmmakers, who risked self-censorship unless they worked within the thriving "torture porn" fare of "Saw" and "Hostel.

Larry Charles’ résumé is all over the place. As a writer, he penned some of Seinfeld’s most memorable episodes (see: “The Library”). As a TV director, he skewered his industry with Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage. As a filmmaker, he embraced mockumentary with Borat and Brüno. But his latest entry, by his own admission, might be his most unhinged to date. He just released Dicks: The Musical, a hard-r spoof of The Parent Trap featuring telepathic sewer creatures, a disembodied CGI vagina and Megan Thee Stallion walking men on leashes like dogs. “I don’t have a legacy or body of work or anything like that, so I don’t think about stuff like that,” the Dicks director explained on the eve of its Oct. 6 theatrical launch. “I never know what I’m doing next.”

After a six-year run leading Miramax, CEO Bill Block is exiting the studio, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Block’s contract at Miramax, co-owned by beIN Media Group and Paramount Global, expired this week and was not renewed. The executive started as CEO in April 2017.
The studio is looking to develop projects based on its own intellectual property rather than aiming to acquire projects, a source close to Miramax’s owners said. A search is underway for a new top executive.
Miramax, founded by Harvey and Bob Weinstein and then later purchased and sold by Disney, has largely been known in recent years for its expansive library of more than 700 films. However, since Block joined and its acquisition by BeIN and Paramount, the studio has tried to make a bigger push into producing and distribution with the relaunch of the Halloween franchise, as well as films such as The Gentleman,...

Guillermo del Toro has been one of the most beloved filmmakers in all of fandom, and perhaps all of cinema, for the past 30 years. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, del Toro was fascinated with the fantastical at an early age, turning his childhood obsessions into a long creative career that has celebrated the monstrous, the grotesque, and the otherworldly. His is an aesthetic that gives the macabre with a sense of beauty and poetry.
From the start, del Toro’s passion for horror, science fiction, and fantasy in all their myriad forms—movies, TV, literature, comics, art—came through unapologetically, making him not just seem like he was one of us, a fan, but an uber fan; one of us who got to realize the visions and dreams that sparked inside his imagination. He even owns a house that is stuffed to the brim with all the tangible objects of his obsession,...

The Halloween H20 episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? was Written by Eric Walkuski, Narrated and Edited by Tyler Nichols, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
As we all know, the first half of the 90s could often be a scary time for the horror genre. Of course, there were more than a few stand-outs, but for the most part the slasher overload of the 80s had made the general audience rather weary of the genre – it was left to the hardcore fanatics to seek out the real gems. Even horror’s superstars weren’t pulling in the public anymore, some of them seriously slumming it in movies that were practically made to be sent direct-to-video.

Recently Guillermo del Toro, the Oscar-winning director behind “The Shape of Water,” “Nightmare Alley” and “Pinocchio,” said that collecting physical media, in the midst of streamers unceremoniously deleting thousands of titles, is nothing short of a “moral imperative.” And we agree. Each month new home video releases – of both classic films and newer titles – come out. And each one is cause for celebration. With that in mind, we want to highlight the very best titles of every month.
Here are the biggest and best releases for July 2023.

Writer/director Rob Zombie has been very open about the fact that he didn’t enjoy working with The Weinstein Company on his remake of Halloween and the follow-up Halloween II – and he tells some great stories about the nightmare of working with the Weinsteins, particularly Bob Weinstein, on the new episode of the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast.
Zombie said he tries to make movies on a budget of $4 million or less now because he has more creative control on projects like that, executives don’t get involved as much. But the Halloween movies had higher budgets and executives that were very invested in making new entries in a popular franchise. Zombie told Mandel that working with the Weinsteins was, “craziness all the time, where like someone gives you definite notes on Friday but you know by Monday they forgot about them. Scream Factory has announced that they will be bringing the 1981 slasher The Burning (watch it Here) to 4K Uhd this summer – on July 11th, to be exact – and they’re taking pre-orders at This Link. While supplies last, fans who order the 4K Uhd / Blu-ray set through the Scream Factory website will receive an exclusive 18” X 24” rolled poster featuring the original theatrical artwork. The price is $35.99.
The movie is a very cool slasher and I think Scream Factory has chosen an ideal release date for it, as it’s a great one to put on during the summer.
Directed by Tony Maylam, who also crafted the story with Bob Weinstein, Peter Lawrence, Brad Grey, and, unfortunately, Harvey Weinstein, The Burning has the following synopsis: At summer camp, some teenagers pull a prank on the camp’s caretaker, Cropsy. While nearly all civil suits against Harvey Weinstein were resolved by a global settlement, due to a New York law that temporarily lifts the statute of limitations on certain sexual misconduct claims he’s now facing a new legal fight over allegations that his former Miramax colleague raped a 19-year-old model two decades ago.

The 70th Academy Awards ceremony was held on March 23, 1998, in Los Angeles, and according to the Nielsen Ratings, was viewed on television by more than 57 million people. It was the night that James Cameron's supra-hit "Titanic" was to win 11 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Editing. The film's director, James Cameron, was to exit the room with three statuettes of his own, as he co-produced and co-edited in addition to directing. 1997 was a strong year for movies in general, but "Titanic" emerged as the strongest.
Also in the audience was notorious Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein, not yet ousted for his many sexual crimes. As head of Miramax, Weinstein was credited as executive producer on the studio's many films, so he was at the Oscars to witness the competition of "Jackie Brown," "Good Will Hunting," and "The Wings of the Dove." When Wes Craven's "Scream" hit theaters on December 20, 1996, The New York Times' Janet Maslin wrote, "n 'Scream' [Craven] wants things both ways, capitalizing on lurid material while undermining it with mocking humor. Not even horror fans who can answer all this film's knowing trivia questions may be fully comfortable with such an exploitative mix."
Turns out they were more than comfortable.
This isn't a swipe at Maslin. Critics miscall the zeitgeist all the time. In her defense, many people in Hollywood thought Dimension Pictures' Bob Weinstein was stretching the notion of counterprogramming well beyond the breaking point by releasing a slasher flick five days before Christmas. Also, the demand for slashers in 1996 was nearly nonexistent outside of the gorehound contingent (and even they were bored with the formula).
But Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson's meta take on the disreputable genre caught fire, spawning a full-scale slasher revival as well as a long-running franchise that,...

We are only a matter of weeks into 2023, but a strong contender for the title of “scariest movie” in some folks’ minds has already emerged in Skinamarink. The idea of the “scariest movie ever,” i.e. a horror film that generates word-of-mouth buzz, might seem like a modern concept but it actually goes back nearly a century. One of the first examples can be traced back to 1932 and the tastefully titled Freaks, a movie centered around a beautiful trapeze artist who schemes to steal a side-show performer’s inheritance only to be thwarted by his deformed cohorts.
Featuring real life circus performers, the movie was drastically recut by MGM after test screenings in which several terrified audience members “got up and ran out.” Today, those kinds of reports would be worth their weight in gold, but back then they led to the 90-minute running time being slashed to just 64, with...

One of the first things that come to mind about James Mangold's 1997 crime drama "Cop Land" is its stacked cast — and how some of them played against type. Sylvester Stallone, Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta, and Robert De Niro were just the tip of the macho iceberg in a who's-who ensemble of stars and familiar character actors. There was also Peter Berg, Janeane Garofalo, Robert Patrick, Michael Rapaport, Annabella Sciorra, Noah Emmerich, and Malik Yoba -- the list goes on and on. Even smaller roles utilized notable Martin Scorsese alumni like Cathy Moriarty and Frank Vincent, and future "The Sopranos" stars Edie Falco and Tony Sirico (the latter of whom only appears in a surveillance photo). This was the movie that put "Rocky" and "Raging Bull" in the ring together and had Stallone gain 40 pounds to play a half-deaf sheriff in a New Jersey town populated by corrupt cops.

As Harvey Weinstein’s sentencing looms and his attorneys argue for a new trial, a civil battle in New York moves forward and another is filed in Los Angeles.
On Thursday one of the four Jane Does who testified during Weinstein’s L.A. trial filed a lawsuit against him alleging rape and false imprisonment, among other claims. Jane Doe 1, the woman whose testimony prompted a guilty verdict from the jury, says Weinstein assaulted her in February 2013 at an L.A. hotel after the two met at a film festival. She says he showed up at the hotel saying he needed to talk to her, then bullied his way up to her room where he groped her breasts and forced her to perform oral sex on him before moving her to the bathroom and raping her. The suit comes just before the 10-year statute of limitations on her claims would expire.

Guillermo del Toro is keenly aware of the motifs and themes that occur, and occur again, in his work. He often embraces them. For instance, the Mexican auteur freely suggested to us last month that his latest film, the Oscar-nomianted Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, is part of a spiritual trilogy with The Devil’s Backbone (2001) and Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)—movies that all deal with childhood innocence enduring beneath the shadow of fascism and oppression.
Yet another element that frequently goes overlooked in his oeuvre is that of the artist and their commercial benefactor; the creator and the exploiter. This dynamic is given a fatally noirish bent in del Toro’s last Best Picture nominee, Nightmare Alley (2021). That film, which is based on a William Lindsay Gresham novel of the same name, sees a small-time carnival huckster learn how a “Geek” is made—which in the early 20th century referred to poor...

One of the most frustratingly mangled Hollywood success stories pertains to the supposed post-production salvation of "Bad Santa." Written by the then up-and-coming duo of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (based on a pitch from Joel and Ethan Coen), and directed by Terry Zwigoff (hot off the Academy Award-nominated "Ghost World"), the legend holds that Zwigoff's cut of the film was so relentlessly mean-spirited as to be unreleasable. This was backed up 13 years after the film's successful theatrical release by a selectively edited New York Times oral history, which privileges Bob Weinstein's version of the story.
You can't argue with the results. "Bad Santa" was the surprise, coal-in-the-stocking Christmas hit of 2003. Billy Bob Thornton's portrayal of an alcoholic mall Santa, who lazily participates in seasonal, criminal shenanigans with his elf helper, Marcus (Tony Cox), hit anti-consumerist notes with shocking brio. A 4K Steelbook! Haven’t seen this show lately, and discovered that it holds up remarkably well. Mr. Qt’s sophomore outing made an indelible mark on American movies — the darling of hipster crime filmmaking dazzled viewers with showcase set-piece scenes, entertainingly profane dialogue and ultra-hip inside-out time-shuffling narrative tricks. Add to that genuine star turns, especially Uma Thurman and John Travolta’s iconic dance scene. It’s old-fashioned movie-going in an avant-garde pattern, with raw violence and even rougher language. The stars include Samuel L. Jackson, Harvy Keitel, Ving Rhames, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer and Bruce Willis.

Terry Zwigoff's 2003 film "Bad Santa" was more or less destined for cult classic status. Starring an Academy Award-winning actor, "Bad Santa" was deliberately crass and misanthropic, an antidote to the treacly sentimentality that ordinarily infuses films explicitly about Christmas.
In "Bad Santa," Billy Bob Thornton plays an itinerant mall Santa named Willie who uses his seasonal job to plan last-minute mall heists with his partner Marcus (Tony Cox), who poses as one of Santa's Elves. The heists typically go well, but just barely, as Willie is a wrathful, cruel alcoholic who has a great deal of trouble controlling his constant base impulses toward cussing and lechery. The late Bernie Mac played Gin, a mall manager who caught wise to Marcus' and Willie's plan, and Lauren Graham played Sue, a woman with a Santa Claus fetish that Willie was happy to indulge. Nine-year-old Brett Kelly played an unobservant boy named...

28 years ago, it was hard to get a handle on exactly what Quentin Tarantino was up to with his first two movies.
I was a freshman in college when "Reservoir Dogs" wended its way through art houses and campus theaters across the United States, and, in the mostly pre-internet era of the early '90s, it was rare to see a movie acquire a devoted cult following so rapidly sans home video release. Though Tarantino wasn't the first screenwriter of the video store generation to sprinkle pop culture references throughout his dialogue (Shane Black and Daniel Waters beat him to that particular punch), his bracingly meta take on the gangster movie was the most exciting thing to happen to the genre since Jean-Luc Godard's "Breathless."

15 years removed from its original theatrical release, "The Mist" has garnered a reputation as one of the finest Stephen King adaptations ever captured on film. Yes, it is extremely brutal and dark, but it's King we're talking about. It's easy to forget that, at the time, the movie was straight-up screwed over by Dimension Films, with the studio opting to release it in the middle of the pre-Thanksgiving holiday rush against stiff competition. It turns out, this is something director Frank Darabont literally begged to avoid.
/Film's own Eric Vespe recently spoke to Darabont and many others involved in the making of "The Mist" for a comprehensive oral history on the film, which you can read in its entirety right here. But one interesting tidbit is that the director revealed he fought producer Bob Weinstein very hard on the November 2007 release date.

There are few -- if any -- adaptations of Stephen King's work that are as brutally effective as "The Mist." The movie takes us to the darkest corners of King's mind and faithfully adapts his work for the screen, while also adding a pretty big something to it all with that absolute gut-punch of an ending. To honor the film on its 15th anniversary, /Film's own Eric Vespe did a gigantic deep dive into director Frank Darabont's adaptation in the form of a massive, comprehensive oral history, which you can read in its entirety right here. But let's talk about one crucial element of the film that Vespe uncovered: the budget.
Darabont had been wanting to make "The Mist" for some time and wrote the script on spec, meaning that he wrote it without any outside support and wanted to get a studio on board based on his script.

This post contains spoilers for the ending of "The Mist."
Anyone who's seen "The Mist," Frank Darabont's unsettling take on a 1980 Stephen King novella, will recall the movie's gut-punch of an ending. The 2007 film is best remembered, if alarmingly overlooked, for its bleak denouement, where Thomas Jane's David Drayton kills a group that includes his own son in a suicide pact which turns out to be in vain.
The movie represents a return to a more traditional sci-fi horror that was an interesting change of pace for director Frank Darabont. Prior to "The Mist," Darabont had directed two other Stephen King adaptations in the form of "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile" — both of which had posters crafted by the legendary Drew Struzan. The artist is best known for creating one sheets for such movies as "Blade Runner," "Star Wars," and "Indiana Jones," and came to epitomize...

Hulu’s Hellraiser, a reimagining of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic from director David Bruckner, has opened the box and is exclusively available to stream on Hulu now.
The feature film was written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski (SiREN, Super Dark Times, The Night House), with a story credit by producer David S. Goyer. Also producing is the Hellraiser originator himself, Clive Barker.
For the film’s release, Bloody Disgusting moderated an insightful, candid, and exclusive conversation between David Bruckner and Clive Barker about Hellraiser. The horror filmmakers reflect on everything from the filmmaking process, Jamie Clayton‘s performance, the enduring fascination with Cenobites, the need for more female monsters, and so much more.

Clive Barker's "Hellraiser" series is one of the most recognizable franchises in modern horror history. The gothic horror saga that combined Bdsm, queer subtext, and philosophical agony has proven to be a favorite with fans for decades.
In adapting his own novella, "The Hellbound Heart," Barker brought some much-needed freshness to horror in the 1980s at a time when the slasher villain ruled the roost. Centered on a mysterious puzzle box, the series revealed the demonic sado-masochistic forces of the Cenobites, a priest-like order of former humans who harvest souls for violent experiments. The head of these Cenobites, known as Pinhead, is one of the true icons of horror villainy. Freddy Krueger may offer great one-liners and Jason can slice you up good, but Pinhead is the one who gets into your head.
The "Hellraiser" franchise is a curious mish-mash of great ideas, ambition, studio meddling, and harried script rewrites.

David Cronenberg’s Scanners is being turned in to a TV series.
The 1981 sci-fi horror film, which was essentially Cronenberg’s breakout hit, is in development at HBO.
Black Mirror writer William Bridges is writing and Lovecraft Country director Yann Demange on board to direct. They will both exec produce the remake, which comes from The Morning Show producer Media Res, Demange’s Wayward Productions and HBO.
There have been previous attempts to turn Scanners into a TV series. Bob Weinstein’s Dimension Films attempted to remake it in 2011. Media Res teamed with Bron in 2017 to start developing a remake.
The film followed scanners that are psychics with unusual telepathic and telekinetic powers.
It followed Darryl Revok, played by Michael Ironside, a renegade scanner, to wage a war against ConSec, a weapons and security company. Another scanner, Cameron Vale, played by Stephen Lack, is dispatched by ConSec to stop Revok.

Ready for a new puzzle?
“Hellraiser,” a new take on the immortal 1987 Clive Barker classic (itself based on one of Barker’s more memorably macabre stories), is headed to Hulu in October as part of the streaming service’s Halloween line-up. And a terrifying new trailer has just debuted.
The trailer moodily establishes the return of some of the most iconic elements from “Hellraiser,” including (but not limited to) the insidious puzzle box and the appearance of Pinhead and an inter-dimensional demon (this time played by “Sense 8” standout Jamie Clayton). Instead of a straight remake of the 1987 original, the new movie concerns a recovering addict (Odessa A’zion) who takes possession of the original puzzle box and must try to figure out the mysteries behind it. Talk about fighting your demons!

Independent movies have been a thing for just about as long as movies have been a popular form of entertainment. But there was a point in the '90s when major studios realized that indie movies could also be good business, and Miramax was at the cutting edge of that movement, acquiring a string of films out of the festival circuit and turning them into hits. Miramax, founded by Bob Weinstein and the since-disgraced Harvey Weinstein (who is currently in prison), was so successful that Disney ended up buying the company in 1993.
Miramax wanted to prove that it could still do what it had always done despite being owned by the Mouse House. So, in 1994, the studio went to Sundance and went on a spending spree. Most notably, it acquired Quentin Tarantino's all-time classic "Pulp Fiction," which went on to become a gigantic hit and perhaps one of the...

Update, 1:16 Pm: Just under a year after it all started, Miramax and Quentin Tarantino have pulled the plug on their legal face-off over Pulp Fiction NFTs

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details of Ken Auletta’s Hollywood Ending: Harvey Weinstein and the Culture of Silence, which came out this week.
Just a few months before the incarcerated Harvey Weinstein goes on trial anew for multiple West Coast sex crimes, Ken Auletta’s just-published Hollywood Ending: Harvey Weinstein and the Culture of Silence seeks to offer the big picture about the producer who brought arthouse to the multiplex and the industry that enabled his evil.
In the shadow of the 2017 exposés from the New York Times’ Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey and now fellow New Yorker scribe Ronan Farrow, Auletta’s 466-page hardcover book comes more than two years after the much-accused mogul was sentenced to 23 years behind bars by a New York judge for rape and sexual assault.

Liev Schreiber wouldn’t be opposed to revisiting “Ray Donovan,” he told the audience at Karlovy Vary Intl. Film Festival on Sunday. The beloved Showtime series, created by Ann Biderman, was canceled in 2020 after seven seasons. Following the fans’ outcry, “Ray Donovan: The Movie” premiered in 2022.
“I would consider it,” he said during a masterclass.
“It was always [longtime Showtime chief] David Nevins’ baby. I know he loves this character and this story, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear more from David.”
Schreiber admitted he was both “disappointed and relieved” by the show’s cancellation, but the outpouring of love and support touched him deeply.
“Naomi [Watts, his ex-partner] was a bigger star than me and we were flying all over the world with our children. But they were getting bigger and they needed to go to school and live in one place. She wanted to live in L.A.
