Arthur Wellin soon became a demanded movie director and he realised the productions "Leichtsinn und Pflicht" (1916), "Sein einziger Sohn" (1917), Die Rose von Stambul" (1919) and "Die Welt ohne Hunger" (1919).
He gained a foothold in the world of the theater in Berlin and he got numerous engagements on different stages.
He was also successful as an actor during the silent movie era. His only sound film became "Ganovenehre" (33).
He joined the film business in 1913 where he was active both as an actor and director.
