4th Update, 7:20 Pm: Michelle Obama is guest of honor at a fundraiser underway at Warner Bros chief Barry Meyer‘s home. (Frankly, the way he loathes any Hollywood union activism, Meyer seems more of a Republican… But he’s hosted or participated at prior Bambi fundraisers.) Event started at 4 Pm and was a sellout even though ticket prices ranged from $2,500 to $25,000, and about 150 people are expected to attend. Sources tell Deadline that among the guests spotted are Warner Bros Pictures Group president and Office Of The President Jeff Robinov, Warner Bros Home Entertainment Group president and Office of the President Kevin Tsujihara, Warner Bros Television president Peter Roth, Warner Bros Domestic Television Distribution president Ken Werner. Also Warner Bros TV’s most valuable sitcom executive producer and creator Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Two And A Half Men, Mike & Molly), CAA co-owner Kevin Huvane, New Line Cinema president Toby Emmerich,...

Fans of showrunner-creators Aaron Sorkin and J.J. Abrams will find this exciting: Amazon announces today a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. to add both "Fringe" and "The West Wing" to its Prime Instant Video library this summer. Both titles were previously unavailable. The Prime Instant library already holds 18,000 titles, and continues to grow as it tries to compete with rival Netflix. Kindle Fire owners can stream the Prime titles on their tablets for no additional cost. Online television distribution and original programming production has been growing lately at what seems to be exponential rates. WB domestic television distribution president Ken Werner states that the studio is "thrilled to count Amazon as a digital distribution outlet for our television group," as "more and more television content is enjoyed by fans across a myriad of subscription channels and platforms and on numerous devices." Netflix says this morning that it has a multi-year exclusive deal with Warner Bros Domestic Television Distribution to domestically stream all previous season episodes of ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game. Season 1 of Pretty Little Liars is already available and Season 2 will be up July 3. The first season of The Lying Game will become available in early 2013 after the second season begins on ABC Family. The deal means that “new viewers will have the opportunity to discover the show and catch up which will, in turn, bring new fans to the original episodes on ABC Family,” says Wbdtd president Ken Werner. Some analysts question that assumption: Ratings for Viacom’s Nickelodeon plummeted after many of its shows appeared on Netflix.

Patrick Jane should have a good feel about this: CBS' sophomore drama "The Mentalist" has netted a rich off-network syndication deal with TNT.
TV studios should feel good too. The off-network syndication market is heating up again, with two young dramas, "Mentalist" and another CBS procedural, "NCIS: Los Angeles," on Thursday selling for more than $2 million an episode after healthy bidding.
According to the pact between TNT and Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution, "Mentalist" will begin running weekly on the cable network in fall 2011, followed by a full-blown launch in 2012.
Neither side would discuss the financials of the deal, but the Simon Baker starrer is said to have fetched from $2.2 million-$2.3 million an episode.
"The demand for the off-network rights (to 'Mentalist') began almost immediately following its debut on CBS last fall and has steadily increased as the show blossomed into a true broadcast hit," Wbdtd president Ken Werner said.

Las Vegas -- The 46th edition of the NATPE trade show will, if the TV business regains its footing, go down as a depressing blip on the radar -- or be remembered as the straw that broke the camel's back and ends the market as we know it.
To be sure, a few deals got closed and clearances got racked up for first-run strips that will likely make it to the limited slots available on U.S. screens in early fringe or daytime next fall.
A talk show with Marie Osmond will likely get launched, with her syndicator Program Partners announcing Wednesday that it had cleared the crucial markets of New York (WNBC) and Los Angeles (KTLA) and was at 70% of the country overall.

LAS VEGAS -- TMZ.com is making its way to the small screen.
Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution said Monday that it has struck a multiyear deal with all of the Fox-owned television stations to this fall launch "TMZ", based on Telepictures Prods./AOL's entertainment news Web site.
During a news conference on the eve of NATPE's 2007 Conference & Exhibition at the Mandalay Bay Resort, WBDTD president Ken Werner said the half-hour strip has been sold to all Fox-owned stations, including WNYW/WWOR New York, KTTV/KCOP Los Angeles and WFLD/WPWR Chicago. The show is being sold on a cash-plus-barter basis, with WBDTD providing an hourlong weekend edition and double runs as well.
Werner added that the deal consists of multiplatform elements for station partners, including a "TMZ"-branded module that will reside on each station's home page and feature information on "TMZ" stories that are updated round-the-clock. Additionally, the local "TMZ" site will function as a 24/7 "newsfeed" for its affiliates.
Werner said WBDTD executives are developing the strip as a younger-skewing show and aiming to make it more appealing to males than other syndicated entertainment newsmagazines.
