Deal or No Deal Island features Survivor winner Rob Mariano.
He is back on an island trying to win another big cash prize, but it has also led to some questions from reality TV fans.
Many fans have been asking whether or not Boston Rob and Amber Brkich are still together.
CBS introduced Amber on Survivor: The Australian Outback. Amber finished in sixth place on the second season of the reality competition show. Tina Wesson was the Sole Survivor that year.
Rob was introduced on Survivor: Marquesas. Rob finished in 10th place on the fourth season of the show. Vecepia Towery became the Sole Survivor of his season.

Outwit, outplay, outlast. The basic formula for competing on “Survivor” hasn’t changed since the reality series made its debut on May 31, 2000. Contestants continue to be divided into tribes and forced to form a new society as they adapt to their physical and social surroundings. Players still have to compete in challenges, build their social game and face the elements and hear host Jeff Probst yell his signature phrases like “You gotta dig deep!” and “Wanna know what you’re playing for?” — and they still have to look into his eyes while he utters the dreaded phrase “The tribe has spoken.”
While the essential gameplay of “Survivor” hasn’t changed throughout 44 seasons played over 23 years, the game certainly has evolved. A myriad of new twists and advantages, the 39-day format shortened to 26 days, and the evolution of the contestants themselves have led to the long-running series having...

“Survivor” is a game that ends with one person claiming the life-changing $1 million prize, but sometimes the winner is not the one people expect. The title of Sole Survivor is the result of taking out the biggest competitors, being likable in the cast, and appealing to the jury, all while arguing the case of why you’re the most deserving of the win. While many of the champions are well-deserved, at least according to the passionate fans at home, others spark massive debate when Jeff Probst reads their names out loud. Scroll through our photo gallery above (or click here for direct access) where we detail the Top 10 biggest “Survivor” upset winners of all time.

Over the years, a few Survivor contestants have captivated the imaginations of fans around the world. These contestants love talking about their experiences on the show, dishing the dirt about what really happens behind the scenes. Kelly Wentworth is one of Survivor’s most beloved veterans, a reality star who has appeared in several seasons of the iconic competition show. Not only has Wentworth been open about her own experience with the show, but she has talked about longtime Survivor host Jeff Probst as well – and in a recent podcast conversation with Tyson Apostol, Wentworth discussed how Probst will “freak out” if something isn’t going exactly according to plan.

Over 600 people have competed on Survivor since the first season aired in 2000. Some have been more memorable than others, and there’s no doubt that one of the CBS reality show’s first stars was Colby Donaldson. But even though Colby helped Survivor reel in plenty of viewers with his good looks and Southern charm, the contestant also cost the show $100,000.

Survivor fans first met Colby Donaldson as a contestant on Survivor: The Australian Outback, the show’s second season. Survivor is an intense and thrilling competition show that never fails to deliver an edge-of-the-seat entertainment experience every season. The show stands as one of the longest-running reality competition shows in history, currently at Season 44, and has earned some contestants celebrity status.

Survivor players spend weeks isolated from the real world and have to rely on basic skills for survival. Given this disconnect, it’s no surprise that the game is a life-changing experience, and players often have a different outlook on “normal life” post-production. And for player Matt Bischoff, one of the experiences that changed for him was sex, saying it was unbelievable after the show.

After 43 seasons, Survivor has had plenty of champions that fans believe shouldn’t have won the game. Viewers of the CBS reality competition series have strong opinions, so it’s difficult for everyone to agree on whether or not a Sole Survivor is “worthy” of the title. And unfortunately for the Survivor Season 32 winner, their triumph is one of the most controversial decisions in the show’s history.

After two decades and 43 seasons, who are the 19 “Survivor” castaways with the most days played on the island? Obviously, frequent returnees “Queen” Sandra Diaz-Twine, “Boston” Rob Mariano and Parvati Shallow all make the list, but some of the other record-holders may surprise you. Note that the last season to feature former contestants back to compete again was “Winners at War” (Season 40), which reintroduced 20 of the most memorable champions of all time. Tour our photos above (or click here for direct access) that detail all of the CBS reality TV show’s longest-running cast members.

Over the past 40 seasons of “Survivor,” men have won 25 times while women have only prevailed 15 times. (See the “Survivor” winners list.) The past six cycles in a row have all resulted in male champions, with the most recent woman winner being Sarah Lacina in Season 34. With the Season 41 finale set for Wednesday night, all eyes are on whether one of the last two females on the island (Erika Casupanan or Heather Aldret) can break the curse this year. Or will one of the three men prevail instead?

Jonathan Penner‘s wife Stacy Beth Title has died of Als at age 56. The three-time “Survivor” player tweeted the sad news on Monday. Title was an Oscar-nominated director for “Down on the Waterfront” who continued to work after her diagnosis in 2017. “Survivor” fans will remember Title from her two appearances on the reality TV show. She visited her husband during the “Cook Islands” loved ones reward in 2006 (watch above), and the couple appeared virtually for a “CBS Cares” profile about Als during “Winners at War” in 2020 (watch below).

“Survivor: Winners at War” may purport to decide the best winner of all time, but 18 former champions could plausibly dispute that. While Season 40 does have “Survivor” legends like Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow and Sandra Diaz-Twine, it does not include every past winner. For instance, the first two winners, Richard Hatch and Tina Wesson, are missing from the “Winners at War” cast despite being from two of the most-watched seasons in the show’s history. Survivor Champ Richard Hatch Says Show 'Made a Horrendous Mistake' Excluding Him From Winners at War
Survivor premiered its 40th season Wednesday with 20 former champions competing for a doubled prize of $2 million. While many of the show’s famous faces are back in action, one particular winner — Season 1 victor Richard Hatch — is conspicuously missing.
In a promotional interview for the new Winners at War season, Survivor host and executive producer Jeff Probst said, “I didn’t feel comfortable having him out on the show and representing a show that is for families,” possibly alluding to Hatch’s affinity for nudity.

“Survivor” fans, there is good news and bad news when it comes to the upcoming 40th season, “Winners at War.” The good? If your favorite former players are voted out of the game there’s still a chance they can win. The bad? That’s because (spoiler alert!) the Edge of Extinction is back in play.
This controversial twist first popped up in Season 38 when memorable castaway Reem Daly became the first player voted out. Upon walking out of tribal council she was presented with a decision: stay in the game by boating to Extinction Island, or end her experience right then and there? As it turns out every castaway chose the boat option, though two — Keith Sowell and Wendy Diaz — quit not long after they arrived on the deserted island.

Will ‘Survivor’ celebrate its 40th season with an all-winners edition? And should they do it? [Poll]
Richard Hatch vs. Sandra Diaz-Twine vs. Boston Rob? Oh, my.
For now, such a showdown is just a dream. However, there are rumbles in the “Survivor” jungle about what might be store for CBS’ reality show’s landmark 40th season. The one blip that suggests that this isn’t quite a done deal yet derives from an interview that host Jeff Probst gave “Us Weekly” last summer during filming of Season 38. “We can’t do all winners. As a producer, I would never suggest it. I would say it’s not a good idea.”

Like most long-running reality TV shows, twist and turns in the format regularly happen. On “Survivor,” which has been on CBS since 2000, the behind-the-scene masterminds often like to isolate players away from the other castaways and test their mettle. They have used the concept of “island” twists four times. The current 38th season introduces probably the most stressful option yet — “Extinction Island.” The show is intentionally hiding what is expected of players who land there. But that got us thinking about how, at least so far, you think it compares to the other “Survivor’s” other three islands — Exile, Redemption and Ghost. Below, refresh your memories about what each island involved and then vote in our poll for your favorite.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: What is the scariest moment or scene on TV?
Ben Travers (@BenTTravers), IndieWire
Though there are moments within “Penny Dreadful” (the seance) and “The X-Files” (“Home”) that left me spooked, the title for scariest TV scene has to go to the only show to give me nightmares — actual, legitimate nightmares. After watching the first two episodes of “Hannibal,” I woke up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat and haunted by a bright red room with blood running down the walls — twice! Two weeks in a row, “Hannibal” ruined my peaceful slumber, and I had to stop watching the show live (and during the night entirely). Each week,...

There are lots of sets of sisters in the world, but few are as goal-setting as Beyoncé and little sis Solange, who have both won Grammys tonight. They’re nearly identical, both crazy talented, and pretty much all-around perfect.
And yes, this family has a pretty high fabulous factor, but there’s no competition between the two — just love. Here’s proof.
1. Beyoncé wrote a rare Instagram caption about her sister’s album.
It’s not often that Queen Bey graces one of her artsy Instagrams with a caption — she’s more of a strong, silent type. But for the...

[This story contains spoilers for the finale of Survivor: Cambodia — Second Chance.] In the aftermath of the Survivor: Cambodia — Second Chance finale, it's tempting to write a story about how Survivor is back, but that makes the assumption that it was ever truly gone. Long-running reality shows tend to have a familiar curve: Success, phenomenon, dwindling success, cancellation. American Idol reaches the end of that journey in the spring. But not Survivor. It's been a long time since Richard Hatch wandering naked and Colby Donaldson essentially handing Tina a million dollars along with magazine covers,

On every season of Survivor, one contestant manages to steal the show.
This season, it's Jeff Varner, the 49-year-old from North Carolina who's snarky, funny and extremely quotable – although he sometimes says things that make everyone's jaw drop.
In the first two episodes of Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance, Varner has been playing hard, all the while telling other contestants that the game is moving too fast and he's just trying to keep up. (You're not fooling us, Jeff. Sorry. You know exactly what you're doing.)

Tina Fey let it (almost) all hang out on Thursday when she stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman in NYC. After Dave complimented Tina on how great she looks, she admitted that he's the only late-night talk show host that she gets dressed up to go see. "I realized that when you retire, this is it. Like, I'm never gonna wear a fancy dress on a talk show again," she told the CBS host, whose last show will air on May 20. "First of all, it's very hard work. I don't know if you're aware of the contraptions under here. It's almost medical. I dress up like this out of respect for you. I really do. But this is it . . . Am I gonna put a dress on for Jimmy [Fallon]? That's creepy. He's like my brother. I'm gonna wear special underwear for James Corden? That's not gonna happen. So the next time you see me,...

In its 30 seasons, Survivor has worked hard to keep things fresh.
Each season has included twists and turns, keeping contestants – and viewers – on their toes. "Sometimes, people love what we do," host Jeff Probst told People in February. "Sometimes, they just want to throw things at us."
For the show's 31st season, producers have come up with one of the show's biggest twists: letting fans of the show choose the 20 castaways who will compete.

When "Secrets and Lies" premiered on ABC in March, Sepinwall and I talked about it on the podcast, but nobody wrote a full review. What I said in my Take Me To The Pilots entry and what I said on the podcast is what I'd have said in my review: In a year of close-ended shows using the death of a child as a catalyst for an investigation or an investigation of grief, "Secrets and Lies" was the most tawdry and sensationalistic, the one most prone to insulting the intelligence of viewers. Two months later, same as it ever was, "Secrets and Lies" ended its first season with a seemingly anti-climactic scene and then instructed viewers to go watch one extra scene either online or on some stupid ap or... Screw that. Season 1 of "Secrets and Lies" ended with a slightly ominous car scene between Abby and Christy. Full-stop. I...

The results of a CBS.com poll of "Survivor" fans are now on newsstands, as part of a special commemorative issue of CBS Watch! magazine. The 100-page, full-color magazine is a pretty great overview of the series, except for the absolute wrongness of its polls. That's especially true for its "all time best seasons" poll. Yes, ranking "Survivor" seasons is about as difficult as stacking cooked spaghetti noodles, and about as useful. It's mostly good for creating disagreement. What one viewer values, another dismisses--but that's one of the many reasons why the series has survived for 30 seasons. There's a lot to argue about. Even looking at objective data about Survivor winners and cast members can prompt discussion. So, here are the results of CBS' poll, and one fan's thoughts and arguments about why the other fans' collective wisdom often seems screwed up. #1: Survivor Heroes vs. Villains, season 20, 2010 Why this...

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
Chris Hemsworth, the reigning Sexiest Man Alive, earned his title Tuesday night on "The Tonight Show." He played "Water War" with Jimmy Fallon, and since the loser had to be water cannoned by the winner, you had to know Thor would lose so we could see him drenched. He even did a little dance as Jimmy hosed him down. Let's just say the audience approved. It's kind of a fun game, too - a twist on the card game War - and they had a laugh about it. Could make a good drinking game, beyond water. Chris also showed off his new shorter haircut in his sit-down interview with Jimmy.

Pre-credit warning. I'm going to ignore these live segments, if you don't mind. This recap is already going to be horribly long if I cover the two-hour episode. At least I get to fast-forward through the lengthy season-long recap. Also, this recap is so darned long that I had to paginate it. I won't be insulted if you just skip to Page 3 for the results and my Bottom Lines... Pre-credit sequence. "Nice Tribal, guys. That's one for the books," Spencer observes after the Trish vote-out. But the big question is immediately raised: Why did Tony vote for his former ally? Tony explains that it was strategy and he didn't feel good about it, but he couldn't take somebody as well-liked as Trish to the end. "I feel horrible about it, but I feel like it was the most strategic move for me to make," Tony says. I guess I can buy that.

Stepping out to promote “The Monuments Men,” Matt Damon showed up at The Ed Sullivan Theatre for “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Wednesday (February 5).
The “Good Will Hunting” hunk signed autographs and posed for pictures before heading inside to chat about his good friend George Clooney.
Damon began, “He’s a fun guy. He’s a child in many ways,” and proceeded to tell of an elaborate prank Clooney pulled between himself and Golden Globe hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
George apparently sent a fake letter from Damon to Fey and Poehler, supposedly complaining about the fact that they called him a ‘garbage man’ at the Globes, and in response they sent massive fruit baskets.
And while the first basket had a letter of apology, the second letter was quite different. "If your note is part of some George Clooney prank, as I very strongly suspect it is,...

George Clooney revealed on Thursday that he is planning a big prank to get revenge on the two funny women, who took a dig at him when they hosted the Golden Globes in January. Watch their joke below (the George one starts at the 5:07 mark). Now, it seems George has something big planned. It's getting personal on season 27 of CBS' Survivor. This time around returning players will be pitted against their loved ones. Survivor's ratings have been declining over the past few years. Will this new twist cause the ratings to rise or will they fall? Time will tell.
Host Jeff Probst is back, as are 10 past contestants -- Aras Baskauskas, Candice Cody, Colton Cumbie, Gervase Peterson, Kat Edorsson, Laura Morett, Monica Culpepper, Rupert Boneham, Tina Wesson, and Tyson Apostol.
The higher a show's ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available -- typically around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest.

Ciera Eastin came ever-so-close to getting her "Survivor" exit interview with her mother Laura Morett. For several Redemption Island Duels, Laura was dominating and seemed poised to return to the game, but in the climactic Arena showdown, former winner Tina Wesson was more successful balancing a vase on a teeter-totter. That denied me a paired exit interview with Laura and the doting daughter who voted her out of the game, the only vote cast by a player against their loved one in this "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" season. Of course, we already know what they would have said, since...

“It’s My Night”
Airs Wednesday at 8pm (Et) on CBS
The challenge when analyzing Survivor is finding thrills when the finale reaches a predictable ending. This trend has happened frequently in recent seasons, with Malcolm’s exit from the Philippines being a rare exception. Even so, there’s still plenty to enjoy with Blood vs. Water’s conclusion. Tyson removes any doubts about a victory by taking the final two immunity challenges and choosing the right people. Underdogs like Ciera and Tina are too dangerous to face with this jury. Despite the editing focusing on Monica, she earns just one vote, and the rest go to Tyson. It’s hard to disagree with rewarding a guy who found two idols, built a solid alliance, and dodged stiff challenges from Hayden and Ciera. He’s come a long way from the goofball of the Tocantins or...

They were the last loved one pair in Survivor: Blood vs. Water, and they got there by very different means. Ciera Eastin was on the outs early so laid low, but then emerged in the back half of the season as risk-taker willing to vote out her own mom and gamble an immediate exit via a colored rock for the chance to improve her position. Mother Laura Morett, however, stuck around simply by destroying anyone that dared to face her at Redemption Island. Eventually, however, their time ran out. Tina Wesson and Ciera Eastin fell just short of making the Final 3 on "Survivor: Blood vs. Water," but they are happy for Tyson and tell Zap2it that they'd both go back in a heartbeat.
Zap2it: Are you glad you went back on "Survivor", Tina? Is it getting harder each time you go back? It's not like you're an old woman, but the game looks so exhausting.
Tina: You are so funny. Absolutely, I'm glad. Even if I'm 80, I'll still go back. Yes, it does get a whole lot harder for me, both physically and how the game has morphed. It is such a psychological game. It used to be you formed your alliance and it stayed true the whole time. Now, you form your alliance and five minutes later there's another alliance. It's extremely stressful.
Did you consider voting for anyone other than Tyson to win the money?...

Tina Wesson viewed this season of Survivor: Blood vs. Water as her shot at redemption. After going from first (winning The Australian Outback) to worst (being the initial person kicked out of All-Stars), Tina wanted to prove she still had the chops to go all the way. And she almost did, falling just a single day short, after making it back into the game off of Redemption Island, but then being booted once again in the very last vote-off. Of course, all of that seems insignificant now after Tina’s son Taylor was killed in a car accident just two weeks ago.
