- Jack Whitehead was born on March 18, 1913 in St. Ives, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England, UK. He was a cinematographer, known for A Yank in the RAF (1941), Hamlet (1948) and Time Flies (1944). He was married to Doris Marriott. He died in March 1989 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

- In his later years Jack Whitehead taught cinematography at Chicago's Columbia College. Among his students were Declan Quinn and Janusz Kaminski who won Oscars in 1994 "Schindler's List." and "Saving Private Ryan."
