Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.
This Past Weekend:
While the new movies reigned at the box office this past weekend, both Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven (Sony) and the animated Storks (Warner Bros.) didn’t fare nearly as well as our projections, both falling short by about $10 million. The Magnificent Seven, starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt, fared decently with $34.7million, which is about the average for Washington’s films, but the fourth highest opening for a Western after last year’s The Revenant, the animated Rango, and Cowboys and Aliens. Storks’ $21.3 million opening wasn’t great compared to other animated September releases with Sony still holding the September opening record with Hotel Transylvania 2, but it should continue to do well with no other animated movies opening for another month.

Paul McCartney has come under attack, not over his music, but his hair, with Guy Thomas of Guy Thomas’s salon publicly swearing he is no longer the superstar’s hairstylist.
Former McCartney Hairstylists Distance Themselves From Pop Star
In a story reported by the New York Daily News, Thomas and his daughter, Janelle Mercadante, claim that they worked for McCartney beginning in 2004, when McCartney’s then-wife Heather Mills contacted them after McCartney attempted to dye his hair with color from a drug store.
“She called the salon in a very agitated way,” Thomas alleged in an interview with Confidenti@al.
According to Thomas and Mercadante, the duo would regularly travel to the Hamptons to do McCartney’s hair over the years, even after McCartney divorced Mills. It wasn’t until 2012 that the partnership fell apart. Thomas claims McCartney was simply too cheap to continue paying their fees.
“He [McCartney] never wanted to pay the money.

James Christopher is directing the new Twitchy Dolphin Flix film 3 References. Check Slackerwood for his updates as the shooting continues.
There are so many reasons why this has been one of the best shoots we've had in our five-year history. Driving home after another 14+ hour day last night, it hit me. I think a big part of it is attributed to the new blood. We at Twitchy have always prided ourselves on building a troupe mentality and we are dedicated to growing with the same collaborators, but the influx of new energy and ideas cannot be understated.
What began as a last-minute change in the lead gave us Harper Graham and her performance has been beautiful and vulnerable. Just fantastic. Cassidy Schiltz, Lauren Hayes, Mike Williams, Sasha Aimee, Lacey Hernandez, Alicia Dufour, Andrea Dettling and a slew of others have melded nicely with the old Twitchy guard to really create some memorable performances.

As the beleaguered residents of East Baltimore understand all too well, when Omar’s in town, you know it. In the space of a day, Omar Little – Michael Kenneth Williams – has gone from a pleasant memory of the latest season of Boardwalk Empire to all over the crime news cycle.
Granted, it’s a bit of a slow cycle. But by any measure, it’s raining Omar.
And it’s for weird stuff, too. Yesterday, it was starring in a video from Funny or Die, The Wire: The Musical.
Today, it’s for attending a high-profile trial for convicted drug dealer, James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond. Omar Little’s presence didn’t sway the jury. Rosemond was found guilty in Federal Court of distributing millions of dollars worth of cocaine.
Why should you give half a damn? After all, this guy’s not even Michael Williams’ manager any more. Rosemond...

Jodie Marsh has said that she feels like Superwoman since transforming her body. The former glamour girl showed off her new look recently as she won a place in the Natural Physique Association Mike Williams Classic and Pro-Am Bodybuilding Championships. Speaking about her decision to become a "competitive bodybuilder", Marsh told Heat magazine that her new venture is not a publicity stunt. "No, this is where people get me so wrong. When I was at school I wanted to be a vet or a lawyer, I didn't want to be famous," she said. "I got bullied at school for being ugly and that is why I wanted to be a model because I thought I could prove to the bullies and to myself that I wasn't ugly. "It is not attention seeking. I'm living my life to the fullest. None of it is a publicity stunt." > Jodie Marsh poll: What...

So, you fail to take a deep breath and to count to 10 . and you post something you probably shouldn't on Twitter or Facebook, or somewhere else online.Hopefully, it blows over without doing too much damage. But what if you're famous and have thousands, if not millions of virtual followers?NFL star Larry Johnson was released by the Kansas City Chiefs after questioning his coach and posting gay slurs for all the world to see. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was criticized for pulling out a big knife in a video that was posted as a "thank you" to constituents for suggesting ways to cut the state budget. Those are but two of the recent controversies that social networking helped ignite . and far from the last in an era when fans and gawkers are just waiting for sports stars, celebrities and politicians to say something embarrassing or naughty. New...

"Blair Witch Project" was a phenomenon and the filmmakers, Eduardo Sanchez and Daniel Myrick, were faced with a conundrum. How could they top its $250 million success?
Capitalizing on the film's worldwide buzz, the crappy "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2" was released to a resounding thud!
Now, Sanchez and Myrick are planning a true sequel to the first "Blair Witch" although they admit they're still trying to figure out which direction to take.
Sanchez and Myrick revealed to BBC News:
"Ideally, each Blair Witch film would be a completely different kind of movie. We've thought about doing a film that takes place in the late 1700s and looks like a [Stanley] Kubrick movie with gritty looking people and lighting.
"But now, we're thinking about going back and and seeing what happened directly after the first film finished.
"I think it will have some kind of video element in it, but it...
