- In the several California communities in which he lived over the years, Drew Wilson was widely known for his portrayals of inventor Thomas Edison, to whom he bore a striking resemblance. Sponsored by the Edison Company, Wilson's Edison shows were aimed at encouraging young students to pursue careers as inventors and innovators, delighted youngsters for more than two decades, and culminated in his appearance as the famous inventor atop the Edison Company's Rose Parade Float on New Year's Day, 1992.
