Michael and his brother owe their much sought-after good looks to their
parents, William Wong, a restaurant owner, and Connie Van Yserloo, a
Dutch-American Artist.
Originally from Shandong, he was brought up in the United States. In 1983 he first visited Hong Kong when his brother Russell started his film career.
After finishing high school, he left for Hong Kong to try his luck at acting.
He made his English language movie debut in Tsui Hark's Knock Off in 1998.
He is fluent in English but not so in Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese.
Has 2 daughters: Kayla and Irisa.
His wife is a model of Hong Kong.
Nominated for a Hong Kong Film Award in 1996.
