With scale, one-stop service and multiplatform work becoming increasingly important, New York TV veterans Cary Glotzer and Michael Yudin have combined their content-development and production firms in a joint venture called My-Tupelo Entertainment.
The company will develop and produce entertainment, reality, documentary and sports content for television, broadband and mobile applications.
The deal brings together Yudin's My Entertainment, which develops and produces cable, broadcast and branded-entertainment content, with production, postproduction and packaging outfit Tupelo-Honey Prods., which Glotzer sold two years ago to entertainment and sports investment firm Scp Worldwide while continuing to run it as president.
Glotzer and Yudin are co-presidents of the venture, which began taking trial steps in the fall.
In a first programming success, My's "Ghost Adventures" has secured a 26-episode series order from the Travel Channel. The show's eight-episode initial run performed well in the ratings.
Yudin and Glotzer said initial reactions from select program buyers have been positive.
