Franz Zimmermann was born on September 25, 1908 in Cologne, Germany. He was an actor and assistant director, known for Verträumte Tage (1951), Eskapade (1936) and Tanz mit dem Kaiser (1941). He died on September 25, 1979 in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany.
The actor Franz Zimmermann joined the film industry at the age of 26 and he made his debut with "Rivalen der Luft - Ein Segelfliegerfilm" (1934).
After the war he concentrated to the radio broad-coasting where he realised many successful radio plays, among others for RIAS, NWDR and WDR. He not only directed the plays but also took over some speaking parts.
