Allegations that Meghan Markle mistreated members of her staff when she was a working royal have been swirling for years. Following a leaked email from one aide claiming they were “bullied” by Prince Harry’s wife and quit for that reason, the Palace launched an investigation.
More accusations that the Sussexes’ aides were bullied made headlines when Valentine Low published his book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown. The veteran reporter wrote that those who were able to stick it out on Harry and Meghan’s staff called themselves the “Sussex Survivors Club.”
There were also reports that Prince William stepped in on more than one occasion when the duke and duchess’s employees were on the verge of quitting. Now, a royal author is revealing how Meghan reportedly responded to her brother-in-law’s concerns.

Sundays during his boarding school years meant lunches with Queen Elizabeth II for Prince William. According to a former royal staffer, the late queen always said the same thing before the now-Prince of Wales came over for tea. Ahead, what Queen Elizabeth requested. Plus, who came up with the idea for the lunches. Hint: It wasn’t William or his grandmother.
The queen told staff to ‘put an extra cup and saucer on the table’ before William came for tea
Queen Elizabeth, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96, had a simple request when William came over for lunch on Sundays. According to Paul Burrel, Princess Diana’s former butler, who spent more than 20 years working for the royal family, the queen requested an extra cup and saucer.

Ever since it was announced in mid-January that the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) had abdominal surgery which required a lengthy recovery at home and a break from all royal engagements, there’s been speculation about her whereabouts.
For whatever reason, it seems inconceivable to some that the princess is really just taking time off to recover in the privacy of her Adelaide Cottage home in Windsor. Therefore, wild conspiracies have emerged which have led to the Waleses trying to calm things down. But their actions have made things worse and now a royal commentator believes they have to “play chess” with the media and the public.

In addition to some bombshell claims, a new royal biography has unearthed a sweet anecdote about Prince William and the late Prince Philip. The Prince of Wales, 41, reportedly had the unique ability to get his grandfather to go from “grumpy” to “cheerful,” which Queen Elizabeth II “appreciated.”
The queen was ‘always grateful’ when William got Philip out of his ‘cantankerous moods’
The former Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April 2021 at 99, could always count on his grandson, William, to lift his spirits.
According to an excerpt from royal biographer Ingrid Seward’s new book, My Mother and I, the queen “appreciated” the influence William had on her husband and his typically curt mood.
Put it this way: Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and ex-wife of Prince Andrew described Philip as “terrifying” in 2023.
“The queen particularly appreciated William’s ability to make Prince Philip laugh,” Seward wrote in an excerpt published by the Daily Mail.

Prince William and Kate Middleton might spend all of their holidays together these days, but that wasn’t always the case. The royal couple first met when they were in college at the University of St. Andrews more than 20 years ago. Today, Kate is just as much a staple at the royal Christmas celebrations as her husband. However, before William proposed, Kate reportedly put her foot down and refused to attend the family’s Christmas until she had a ‘ring on her finger” but the moment happened four years before William actually got down on one knee.

Prince George might be living in his father’s footsteps, but he’s not quite where Prince William was at his age. In a good way, that is. Experts say the Prince of Wales’s heir is being prepared for royal life in contrast to the 41-year-old’s own childhood.

George hit double-digits on July 22, 2023, when he turned 10. To mark the occasion, William and his wife, Kate Middleton, released a new photo of George. According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, George has more guidance than William ever did as a boy.
“At the same age, William was very sensitive and increasingly weighed down by his royal status,” the Majesty Magazine editor-in-chief told the Mirror. “The sight of a camera made him uncomfortable. He became withdrawn and always kept his head well down.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are doing their best to make sure their kids have a somewhat normal childhood.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’ eldest child, Prince George, is turning 10 on July 22.
Despite his young age, he’s thought to be aware that someday he will be King of the United Kingdom.
It’s thought George may have properly learned about his future as monarch a few years ago, but children’s wear designer Amaia Arrieta — a favourite among George and his siblings — thinks he’s known for longer.
Arrieta told People, “I think George has known almost from the beginning. He has always had a more prominent role — there have been many events with his late great-grandmother or great-grandfather when it was just him, and his siblings weren’t there. I think they must have had that conversation very early on.”

Shortly after Lili's birth on June 4, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry introduced their daughter to Queen Elizabeth II via a video call. A source told People that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "were very excited and couldn't wait to share that their daughter arrived." Royal historian Robert Lacey, who acts as a consultant on The Crown, remarked that Prince Harry and the queen share a "remarkable bond" that's only grown since his mother Princess Diana's death in 1997.
"[The Queen] was a sort of stepmother for both Harry and William," Lacey shared with People. "We have all focused on her coaching of William as the future King, but we are realizing now the importance of the emotional bonds that she's been able to establish with Harry and their ability to talk to each other directly. That affection remains.

About a year ago, Robert Lacey, historical consultant to The Crown and author of the new book The Crown: The Official Companion: Volume 2, bumped into Prince Andrew.
