Everybody knows that Logan Paul has no filter. The reigning WWE United States Champion doesn’t shy away from bringing his trademark boldness to his promos.
From body shaming Kevin Owens to posting viral semi-nude pictures with the US Championship, Paul has evidenced his tendency to act without censorship and restraint.
That said, Paul once again made a bizarre statement, months ahead of his brother Jake Paul’s much-talked-about boxing match with the legendary “Iron” Mike Tyson. However, this time, Paul went a little overboard with his Nsfw phrasing. So, what did ‘The Maverick’ say?

Burt Young, best known for his riveting portrayal of Paulie in the iconic “Rocky” films, passed away on October 8th in Los Angeles at the age of 83. His passing was confirmed by his devoted daughter, Anne Morea Steingieser.
The actor, originally from Queens, exhibited a rugged charm that landed him roles in more than 160 films and TV shows, from gritty crime dramas like “Chinatown” and “Once Upon a Time in America” to the poignant portrayal of Paulie, the brother of Adrian and Rocky’s loyal friend. This particular role would garner him an Academy Award nomination, showcasing his ability to infuse a tough exterior with a deep-seated vulnerability.
Lee Strasberg, the legendary acting teacher, once described Young as a “library of emotions.” This sentiment perfectly captures the depth and versatility that Burt Young brought to the big screen. Even when he embodied a criminal or thug, Young never settled for one-dimensional characterizations.

Ex-Marine, former boxer, consummate ruffian, beloved character actor, and Academy Award nominee Burt Young has passed away, confirmed The New York Times. He was 83 years old. With a career spanning over five decades, Young's acting resume included over 160 roles, with memorable performances in films like "Chinatown," "Once Upon a Time in America," and "Back to School." Trained by the legendary Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio in New York City, Young made a career playing Hollywood tough guys, street-smart cops, relatable working men, and as an Italian-American — of course — a mob boss.
However, it's his role as Rocky Balboa's brother-in-law and best friend Paulie Pennino in the "Rocky" film series that made him a household name and earned him the coveted Oscar nomination. The role allowed Young to not only shine as a complex, gifted performer but also bring his real-life experience as a professional boxer to the screen.

It had to begin with the ear. For all Mike Tyson’s myriad achievements, his scandals and crimes, his knockouts and losses, he will always be remembered as the man who bit Evander Holyfield’s ear off. It is with this visceral image that Mike, a new TV drama miniseries on Disney Plus, begins. After a quick glimpse at the money shot, such that it is, Mike rewinds to the early Seventies, when Tyson was a child. From there, we follow him through his life, ducking and weaving between his painful upbringing, his rise to become world heavyweight boxing champion, and his downfall.
Most people will be familiar with the gist of Tyson’s story. The way he dominated in the ring. His prison sentence after being convicted of rape. His facial tattoo. His pet tiger. Mike isn’t that interested in the tabloid eccentricities of Tyson’s life – but...

In “Mike,” blood, sweat, and probably a few tears splatter off the faces of Mike Tyson’s opponents in the ring. One after another, they’re hit with his explosive left hook, their cheeks ricocheting off their jaws before they topple dramatically to the ground. Hulu’s limited series, helmed by Steven Rogers and Craig Gillespie, slows these moments down, intent on displaying the physical impact of Tyson’s superhuman strength on the body. This sheer power, coupled with a steadfast dedication to the art of boxing is what made him the youngest heavyweight champion of the world, in 1986, at just 20 years old, catapulting him into history and pop culture stardom.
“Mike” is presented largely as an exercise in self-examination, opening with Tyson as he prepares to step on stage and narrate the events of his own tumultuous life, from his rise to fame as a boxing prodigy straight out of juvenile detention,...

Plot: Mike is an unauthorized and no-holds-barred look at the life of Mike Tyson – and it is one wild ride. The 8-episode limited series explores the tumultuous ups and downs of Tyson’s boxing career and personal life – from being a beloved global athlete to a pariah and back again. Focusing the lens on Mike Tyson, the series examines class in America, race in America, fame and the power of media, misogyny, the wealth divide, the promise of the American Dream and ultimately our own role in shaping Mike’s story.

Sometimes there’s no better ratings boost for an unauthorized account of a celebrity’s life than that person speaking out against it. Or in the case of HBO’s “Winning Time,” several folks. Thanks to former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson’s documented displeasure with Hulu digging into his very public life, the eight-part limited series “Mike” has landed more eyeballs. The question, however, is will they be satisfied with what they see?
Initially, the answer is no. Unlike Tyson in his heyday, “Mike” takes a minute to heat up. Despite teasing Tyson shockingly biting rival Evander Holyfield’s ear to kick off the series, the first episode “Thief” travels back to Tyson’s rough Brooklyn upbringing as the youngest child being raised by a poor, single mother of three. It’s a bleak existence that’s truly hard to watch, mostly due to Zaiden James’ very effective performance as young Mike.

Even if you don't know Mike Tyson there's a good chance you "know" Mike Tyson. Or rather, you know the bullet points of his strange life and career: his troubled childhood, his brutal boxing career that began at such a young age, his connection to Don King, his love of pigeons, his lisp, his rape conviction, the fight where he bit off a chunk of Evander Holyfield's ear, his face tattoo, his cameo in "The Hangover," and so on. These aren't the sum of an entire life, but trivia questions, and "Mike," the new Hulu series that covers Tyson's rise and fall, sure hopes you're familiar with them, because that's almost all you're going to get.
For most of its episode, "Mike" is a surface-level look at Tyson. Allow me to get a boxing metaphor out of the way nice and early and say this: "Mike" pulls its punches.

When it comes to “authorization,” Hulu’s Mike Tyson limited series Mike was damned if it did, damned if it didn’t, and probably shouldn’t have bothered at all.
Mike Tyson is pissed off that Mike, created by Steven Rogers and showrun by Karin Gist, was created without his “authorization,” loading up on accusations of racism against the Disney-owned streamer. The biggest problem with Mike, naturally enough, is that it’s far too generous to its unauthorized subject and, realistically, it’s hard to imagine anybody making a more sympathetic story about the former heavyweight champion and convicted rapist.
Mike isn’t some total puff piece, but it’s way more invested in trying to understand Mike Tyson and the things he has either admitted to doing or been convicted of doing than in actually depicting those things and letting the audience draw their own conclusions.

Mike Tyson is a figure with unusual voltage, a celebrity who fought for his spot in the firmament with a weaponized charisma. The champion boxer is relentless even by the standards of the sport, with the famous incident in which he bit the ear of Evander Holyfield casting a shadow over his achievements. Outside the ring, he’s simultaneously known for a surprising soft-spokenness that makes the listener want to lean in and for a tendency toward violence — including a 1992 conviction for the rape of Desiree Washington — that repels.
A serious reckoning with Tyson’s place in our culture, in the currently on-trend format of dramatized retelling via limited series, would deal with both sides of the Tyson image, and the complicated ways they feed each other — the fact that the allure of Tyson is bolstered by our sense of him as threatening. This is not the path that Hulu’s new series “Mike” takes.

"You gotta be the meanest fighter God ever created." Hulu has unveiled the full-length official trailer for an incredible new sports biopic series titled Mike, about the infamous boxer Mike Tyson. This looks like a knock out! "Mike is an unauthorized and no-holds-barred look at the life of Mike Tyson – and it is one wild ride." This is from the same team that made I, Tonya, featuring Craig Gillespie directing episodes, and Steven Rogers writing the script - which seems like the perfect filmmaking team to handle this story. I don't think they will shy away from how abusive he is, which is an honest part of his character. Trevante Rhodes (from Moonlight) stars as Mike, with a main cast including Harvey Keitel as boxing coach Cus D'Amato, Scott MacDonald, Suzette Lange, Laura Harrier as Robin Givens, plus Russell Hornsby as Don King. I'm definitely planning to fire this up when it's out on Hulu.

“You know Tyson, but do you know Mike?” Trevante Rhodes transforms into Mike Tyson in Hulu‘s Mike, which dropped its official trailer July 20. The video dives into the infamous boxer’s childhood, teen, and adult years, tracking his rise. Rhodes plays like adult Tyson, like he played the adult Chiron in Moonlight. He’s joined by Russell Hornsby as infamous boxing promoter Don King, Laura Harrier as actor Robin Givens (who was briefly married to Tyson), Harvey Keitel as Cus D’Amato (a famous boxing manager and trainer), and Li Eubanks as Desiree Washington, the woman who accused Tyson of sexually assaulting her in 1991. Johnny Alexander plays Evander Holyfield (pictured above), with Olunike Adeliyi as Lorna Mae (Tyson’s mother) and B.J. Minor as Teen Mike. The eight-episode limited series premieres August 25. Anthony Hopkins is going to train Mike Tyson…sort of. Hopkins is set to play Tyson’s trainer Cus D’Amato in Cus and Mike, a new film about Tyson’s meteoric rise, directed by Nick Cassavetes. Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins headlines biopic Cus and Mike, set to play Mike Tyson’s legendary trainer, Cus D’Amato.
Anthony Hopkins is set to bring his Oscar-and-Emmy-winning repertory skill set to the boxing ring… well, a ring-adjacent location, anyway, set to play trainer Cus D’Amato, in a developing fact-based film project about how the legendary prepper of pugilists molded one fighter in particular, Mike Tyson.
The launch of Berlin's European Film Market (Efm) has yielded a most intriguing project from Patriot Pictures, a biopic titled Cus and Mike, which, as revealed by Deadline, will have Hopkins headline as the titular trainer. The film is set with The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes, who will work off an original screenplay by Desmond Nakano, based on Montieth Illingworth’s 1991 biography, Mike Tyson: Money, Myth, and Betrayal.

Jamie Foxx is stepping back into the ring, this time to play one of the most notorious boxers of all time.
Variety reports that Foxx is in talks to play Mike Tyson in an untitled biopic to be written by Terence Winter ("Wolf of Wall Street," "Boardwalk Empire").
Tyson himself told the U.K.'s Mirror, "Me and Jamie Foxx are in discussion, and we gonna do it. Within a year to 18 months, we're going to do the Mike Tyson story and he's going to portray me, and now they have this new animation; because you know Jamie's pretty much my age so he can't portray me but they have this new system."
Tyson also indicated Martin Scorsese may be involved.
Winter has plenty of material to mine from. He could start with Tyson's troubled childhood (deadbeat dad, mother who died when he was 16) or when he started working with his first mentor,...

Following HBO's passing on what was to be a drama series loosely based on his boxing youth (Da Brick, directed by Spike Lee, starring John Boyega), former boxing champ Mike Tyson is reportedly developing a film on his early years in the ring, through his meteoric rise to the king of the boxing world, which he and his wife, Lakiha Spicer, will produce. Tyson is said to be looking to cast an unknown to play him in the film, but he and wife Spicer say that they can see Kevin Spacey portraying his mentor and trainer, Cus D'Amato, and Helen Mirren as his adoptive mother, Camille Ewald... this is all according to the New York Post. Assuming this is all fact, the film...

Former heavyweight boxing champion and wife hope to recruit Kevin Spacey and Helen Mirren for movie about his early career
Mike Tyson and his wife Lakiha Spicer are hoping to produce a film about his early struggles and march towards the undisputed world heavyweight boxing title, reports the New York Post.
Spicer said she hoped to see Kevin Spacey cast as Tyson's mentor Cus D'Amato, with Helen Mirren as his adoptive mother, Camille Ewald. She told the New York Post an unknown actor, rather than an established star, would portray Tyson.
It is not known whether the project has financing, but it is expected to be based on a screenplay by Larry Sloman, who co-wrote The Undisputed Truth, the former boxer's autobiography. Spicer revealed the project in a conversation with a Post reporter at the Golden Globes on Sunday night.
Tyson is no stranger to Hollywood, having made cameos in the Hangover films.

For the heavyweight champion whose knockout punches all but left his opponents' grandchildren limping, Mike Tyson comes off as surprisingly mellow and vulnerable.
The craziness that once swirled around him appears gone. His seersucker jacket is incongruous with the face tattoo, but Tyson is a study in unusual combinations, as revealed in "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth," airing on HBO Saturday, Nov. 16.
Tyson, 47, slides his massive body onto a chair next to director Spike Lee for an hour-long exclusive lunch with Zap2it. They're at a table in the back of a restaurant at the Beverly Hilton, where in wilder times, Tyson lived in a penthouse.
The film is a stage-to-screen adaptation of Tyson's raw play, which had a limited Broadway run. In it, he doesn't shy from uglier topics such as biting off opponent Evander Holyfield's ear.
"I was just really p***ed off," he says in the play.

Indianapolis — Mike Tyson the entertainer is coming back to the city that put him in prison.
The boxer once dubbed as the "Baddest Man on the Planet" is settling into his new role as the star of a one-man, 36-city road show called "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth."
Now 46, Tyson hopes to show city residents Wednesday night he's a very different person than the one they remember – the brash young heavyweight champion who was convicted of raping an 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant and then spent three life-changing years behind bars in the 1990s. Helicopters were on hand for his release from prison in 1995, and he hasn't been back since.
"At the time, I was living a pretty hectic life and pretty wild and I don't know what would have happened if I had three more years of that life," Tyson told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from Las Vegas.

Not even unsubstantiated death threats could keep Mike Tyson's adoring fans -- including Puff Daddy P. Diddy Sean Combs Diddy -- away from Broadway's Longacre Theater last night, where the former Heavyweight Champion of the World performed his one-man show, Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth. The influence of director Spike Lee could be felt here and there: the ultra-loud pre-show mix of rap classics, spun by D.J. Clark Kent, called to mind the opening montage of Lee's film "Do the Right Thing," as did the banners featuring names of Brooklyn neighborhoods from "Bed Stuy Do or Die" to, oddly enough, Park Slope. Once the show began, the overwhelmingly male, mostly white audience cheered every time Tyson referenced his legendary boxing career -- and guffawed in a way that probably would have made Dave Chappelle squirm every time he said the word "motherfucker." (He said it a lot.

One-man show gets off to a surprisingly good start before going off the rails when Tyson tries to talk about women he's known
Mike Tyson's one-man show, Undisputed Truth – or Undisputed Troof, in his lisping, snuffling delivery – is a very weird production. Written by Tyson's third wife Kiki and directed by Spike Lee, it opened Thursday night on Broadway after transferring from Las Vegas. Donald Trump was in the audience, and the baseball star Derek Jeter, and an odd combination of big men with thick necks and skinny hipsters unsure of what to do when Tyson starts throwing the word "faggot" around. To give you an idea: two of the biggest cheers of the night go up for "I didn't rape this woman" and "I lost 150lbs."
Firstly, the show's inbuilt drama – can Tyson carry almost two hours of wordy monologue without a prompter, and the answer is yes.

New York — Mike Tyson wants his next knockout to be on Broadway.
The former boxer announced Monday that he will team up with director Spike Lee to bring his one-man show, "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth," to the Longacre Theatre for six nights only, July 31 to Aug. 5.
The show, a raw confessional on the highs and lows of the life of the retired heavyweight and tabloid target, will mark both Tyson's and Lee's debut on Broadway. It made its debut in April for a weeklong run at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"I'm very vulnerable and I'm just telling you who I am and where I'm from and how this happened," Tyson said at a news conference at the Longacre, wearing white pants, a white shirt and a gray jacket.
Tyson, like Lee a Brooklyn native, became the youngest-ever heavyweight champion in 1986, when he won his title as a 20-year-old.

We're used to seeing Hugh Jackman tear up some bad guys with either claws or his bare hands, but in the Shawn Levy-directed film "Real Steel" we'll see him using some gigantic robots in order to fight. He may not be the usual rough and tough kind of Wolverine character that most of us are used to, but he displays more emotion and is clearly having tons of fun shooting all of this at the same time for DreamWorks Studio. The actor stars as Charlie, a down-on-his-luck former boxer who's turned into a small time promoter piecing together decent robots to have fight in the ring just to make a few bucks. However, his life takes a drastic turn when his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) shows up on his front door step.Below we got the chance to talk to Jackman about working with the great Sugar Ray Leonard,...

Muhammad Ali: A.K.A. Cassius Clay (1970) Direction: Jim Jacobs Written by: Bernard Evslin Narration: Richard Kiley Muhammad Ali: Made In Miami Review The best of the trio of documentaries mentioned in my Muhammad Ali: The Greatest post was Muhammad Ali a.k.a. Cassius Clay, made in 1970 by boxing promoter Jim Jacobs and narrated by Richard Kiley. Jacobs' film is the most stylistically daring of the three: in addition to breaking the fourth wall, it depicts Ali — with boxing trainer Cus D'Amato — examining film highlights of himself and other boxers. Unfortunately, after the 30-minute mark, a.k.a. Cassius Clay devolves into yet another hagiography. The documentary needed more comparisons to Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, and other fighters of the past to make it interesting. Like Muhammad Ali: The Greatest and Muhammad Ali: Made in Miami, a.k.a. Cassius Clay focuses on the 1960s and...

How Robert Lipsyte, author of the new memoir An Accidental Sportswriter, stood athwart the sports page yelling, "Stop!"
When a young man on the make tells me he wants to be a sportswriter, I tell him to read one book. It's called SportsWorld by Robert Lipsyte. Starting next month, I'll tell him to read another: An Accidental Sportswriter, which is functionally Lipsyte's sequel. In sportswriting's cosmic baseball card set-Jimmy Cannon! Dan Jenkins! Charlie Pierce!-you can find men who wrote as pretty as the former New York Times columnist. But Bob is the five-tool sportswriter. His beat is the ballpark, the '60s, African-American history, women's lib, Muslim theology, sports as metaphor, and-most interesting for you, young sportswriter-the craft of sportswriting itself.

The Fighter picked up some Oscars but the main event is in trouble, plus Mike Tyson's latest rehabilitation
Hollywood has always loved boxing - but not enough this time for The Fighter to beat The King's Speech at the Oscars. Still, it picked up a couple of gongs, including one for Welsh actor Christian Bale, who beat Geoffrey Rush for best supporting actor in his role as Mickey Ward's wayward half-brother, Dicky Eklund. "Mate, you're the best," Bale shouted out to Eklund in the audience. "He's had a wonderful story and I can't want to see the next chapter … If you want to be a champion, if you want to train with him, go and meet with him. Go and check him out. He deserves it."

Hard man Mike Tyson fought back tears on national television in America on Monday when he remembered the boxing coach who rescued him from a life on the streets and turned him into a champion.
In new documentary Tyson, the former fighter gets emotional as he talks about Cus D'Amato - the man he regarded as a leading father figure in his life - and he fell apart again when he was asked to talk about his old coach, who died in 1985, during an appearance on TV show Oprah.
Stumbling over his words, Tyson said he had no interest in boxing once his mentor passed away, stating, "I didn't have any real desire to do that stuff... fight anymore."
And the tragedy sent him off down a path of self-destruction.
Tyson added, "I started drinking and going to drugs a lot."
Tearing up, the former fighter told host Oprah Winfrey that it was D'Amato who told him to hide his emotions, so he could be "a god".
At one point, the champ struggled to continue as he recalled watching classic fights with his mentor and friend.
Tyson recalled, "We would watch all the great fights and I would ask him, 'How do you beat him?'
"(He'd just say) 'No one could beat Muhammad Ali...' That's what I was taught... I listened to my mentor and he said Ali is the best ever and I agree with him."...
