“Basically, I grew up in England,” says Cat Deeley, the vivacious host of Fox’s dance competition show “So You Think You Can Dance” since 2006. “I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would be nominated for an Emmy. And, to be honest, I love the chance to get a frock and wear some jewelry and have a lovely time. My biggest win of all is getting to host a show I love. That’s all I care about.” Watch our exclusive video interview with Deeley above.
Her fans, however, might be a bit more concerned that the willowy Brit who is quick on her stiletto heels is so overdue for recognition, considering she was nominated five times straight between 2011 and 2015 without a win. Told she is like the Glenn Close of hosts, and she just laughs: “And here I’ve been Meryl Streep the whole time.”

Jensen Arnold fell just short on “So You Think You Can Dance,” finishing in second place behind winner Hannahlei Cabanilla in what host Cat Deeley said was the closest final vote in the show’s history. So maybe Mandy Moore will let Arnold keep her Emmy instead.
The “Sytycd” season 15 finale took place the day after the Creative Arts Emmys, where Moore won Best Choreography for the second year in a row, though this was the first time she won for this series. Last year she prevailed for routines she created for “Dancing with the Stars.” To celebrate her win during Monday night’s finale, she even loaned her new trophy to the show, and it popped up in the kitchen.

The season 15 finale of “So You Think You Can Dance” was full of encore performances of some of the season’s most memorable routines. It was an especially good night for hip-hop choreographer Luther Brown, whose dances were featured especially prominently as examples of the season’s best. One performance was so catchy that two judges couldn’t help themselves: Twitch and Nigel Lythgoe got in on the action too. Watch them above.
This routine was set to “Juice” by Yo Gotti, and it was originally performed by the top four male contestants: Cole Mills, Jay Jay Dixonbey, Darius Hickman and Slavik Pustovoytov. It was especially memorable for its flashy costumes: all four in suits topped off with canary yellow trench coats and fedoras reminiscent of “Dick Tracy.” They all returned for this special reprise, and Twitch joined them midway through.

So you think you can guess who won the fifteenth season of “So You Think You Can Dance?” No need. The season came to a close on Monday when Hannahlei Cabanilla was announced the winner.
Meanwhile, second place went to Jensen Arnold, third place to Genessy Castillo and Slavik Pustovoytov came in fourth.
The show celebrated the Cabanilla’s victory on Twitter, but cannily did not actually spoil who it was.
It's official — America has named it's favorite dancer!
Congratulations to every one of our contestants for all of their amazing work on this season of #Sytycd. ????????♀️???? pic.twitter.com/N7UP0yGMom

Among the highlights from the two-hour episode was this barnstormer of a number featuring the entire top 10 Sytycd finalists stepping up to “Yummy” by Gwen Stefani and Pharrell. What the hell is with that ice cream cone, though?
Re-experience this carnival of scrumptiousness! ???????????????? #Sytycd pic.

It all came down to this. On Monday night, September 10, after America voted on the last two weeks of performances, the season 15 winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” was revealed. So who was America’s favorite dancer: Jensen Arnold, Hannahlei Cabanilla, Genessy Castillo or Slavik Pustovoytov? Find out below in our live updating blog with all the minute-by-minute developments during the finale.
Jensen was a standout all season, and she already had name-recognition coming into the competition. Not only did she try out for the show last summer in season 14 (she was eliminated at the Academy), she’s also the little sister of “Sytycd” and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Lindsay Arnold. That kind of association could have hurt her as much as helped her — how would she compare to her sibling? — but she has actually advanced farther than Lindsay, who was eliminated in the Top 8 round in season nine.

“The hardest part of this dance is to not get too carried away because I feel like this piece is so emotional I could get really lost in it,” confessed Slavik Pustovoytov about the contemporary dance he performed with all-star Melanie Moore on Top 4 night on “So You Think You Can Dance.” But despite the challenges the routine posed — or perhaps because of them — he felt like he’d “been waiting for a piece like this the whole season.” Watch his performance above.
Two-time Emmy winner Travis Wall choreographed the routine, and Wall has been known to get his dancers to dig deep emotionally. “The story of this piece is this relationship finally getting to a place where they are going to reveal the truth to each other,” Wall explained, “and it’s just this progression until finally they both break.”

“So You Think You Can Dance” is down to its final four contestants: Jensen Arnold, Hannahlei Cabanilla, Genessy Castillo and Slavik Pustovoytov. They performed on Monday night, September 3, for America’s votes, but who stood out, who stepped up, and who deserves to win season 15? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
These final four are somewhat controversial after the results for the Top 6. Jay Jay Dixonbey and Darius Hickman were both eliminated from the competition last week after receiving more rave reviews from the judges, who hardly had an unkind word for either dancer throughout the season. That left Slavik as the last remaining male dancer in the competition even though he delivered multiple routines that disappointed the judging panel.
Given Slavik’s poor reviews, it seemed odd that he would be the last man standing, but of course those results...

Genessy Castillo has struggled with her confidence periodically on “So You Think You Can Dance.” During Academy Week she admitted to self-doubt because she didn’t have the otherworldly flexibility of some of her rival contestants. And in last week’s show she landed in the bottom four when the results of America’s vote were announced. But this past Monday night, when the Top 6 contestants performed for the 4 spots in the finale, the show gave her a big vote of confidence by pairing her with reigning “Sytycd” champion Lex Ishimoto.
All six contestants got to perform with an all-star, and every all-star featured in this week’s show had made the top four in their respective seasons. But even by those high standards Castillo got the cream of the crop for her dance choreographed by Mandy Korpinen and Elizabeth Petrin. Castillo and Ishimoto performed with their faces covered by masks,...

Slavik Pustovoytov entered the “So You Think You Can Dance” live shows as an underdog. He was the only hip-hop dancer who made the Top 10, and his freestyle background meant that learning choreography in any style was a brand new experience for him. So the judges have been pleasantly surprised by how well he has adapted to a variety of styles he was unfamiliar with before now. But on the night when the Top 6 performed for just four spots in the finale, the pressure seemed to get to him, and he got some of his harshest critiques of the season.
His first duet was a hip-hop routine with “Sytycd” all-star Jaja Vankova that was choreographed by another all-star, Comfort Fedoke. You might think that a hip-hop routine would be as close to his comfort zone as he could get, but the judges weren’t impressed. Twitch thought it lacked the...

Choreographer Mandy Moore was determined to give jazz dance its best representation possible on “So You Think You Can Dance.” During the live show on Monday night, August 27, she worked with the only jazz dancer left in the competition, Jay Jay Dixonbey, along with “Sytycd” all-star (and season seven winner) Lauren Froderman for an energetic number that was perfectly suited to unleash Dixonbey’s athleticism as well as his infectious personality. Watch it above.
Judge Mary Murphy thought Moore’s choreography was “out of this world … and Jay Jay, you were the star of it. Nobody looks like they’re having more fun in the movement, in the moment than you.” Nigel Lythgoe assured Moore that America will appreciate jazz “having seen this routine. It was absolutely brilliantly choreographed.” He especially loved the split-jump Dixonbey did over Froderman’s head in the middle of the routine, so much so that...

Travis Wall dug deep for a routine he choreographed on “So You Think You Can Dance” for the live show on Monday night, August 27, when the Top 6 contestants performed. Contemporary dancer Darius Hickman was paired with a “Sytycd” all-star, season 14 finalist Taylor Sieve, for a bold, risk-taking routine to Damien Rice‘s “It Takes a Lot to Know a Man” that challenged standards of gender expression. Watch their performance above.
Wall’s choreography was inspired by his own experience of coming out of the closet as gay, after which he experienced bullying and ridicule. So in his dance Darius embodied a more traditionally feminine form of gender expression, while Taylor played the more masculine role, representing the negativity, rejection and toxic masculinity that Darius must fight against to live as his more authentic self. After Darius thwarted Taylor he reapplied his lipstick to close the performance, demonstrating his self-acceptance.

There was no room for error in the Monday night, August 27 episode of “So You Think You Can Dance” when the Top 6 performed. Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.

The live shows have been unforgiving in season 15 of “So You Think You Can Dance” so far. The top 10 have been so evenly matched that all it takes is one imperfect routine to get you sent packing. Chelsea Hough and Evan DeBenedetto were eliminated after an ill-fated tap dance. And all it took to knock out Cole Mills was one unconvincing stepping number. The top six competitors dancing tonight have hardly gotten any criticism from the judges so far during the live shows, but someone still has to go home. Our users think Darius Hickman and Genessy Castillo are the two most likely to exit.
Hickman and Castillo are both contemporary dancers, but they have proven their mettle in a wide range of styles including Bollywood, hip-hop and Broadway. However, they landed in the bottom four based on America’s votes last week. The judges chose to save them from...

Season 15 of “So You Think You Can Dance” has been up in the air since the very beginning of the live shows. Evan DeBenedetto was an early favorite, but he was one of the first dancers eliminated. Cole Mills led the early predictions of our users, but he only made it to the Top 8. Now with six dancers left in the competition our users are as divided as ever trying to forecast the winner. So who are the favorites now? We’re betting on Jensen Arnold and Slavik Pustovoytov, but for how long?
As of this writing Arnold has a narrow lead with 3/1 odds based on our users’ collective predictions. But Pustovoytov is close behind with 4/1 odds. From the first three weeks of live shows both have been consistently praised by the judges: Arnold for adapting to a wide variety of styles and tones outside of her Latin ballroom comfort zone,...

“So You Think You Can Dance” judge Nigel Lythgoe recently called Jay Jay Dixonbey and Jensen Arnold the best couple on the show due to their versatility, chemistry and technique, and the third week of live shows was no exception. They opened the show with a sexy, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”-style jazz number that the judges loved, even despite a wardrobe malfunction in the middle of the routine. Watch it above.
Both Arnold and Dixonbey were supposed to remove parts of their costumes during the dance, but “the skirt came off a little early,” Arnold explained. “I had to take my skirt off when I was supposed to take his jacket off. But we made it work.” Even Lythgoe was pleased. Though he criticized them for being too overtly sexual during a previous performance, this time he thought their dancing and Sean Cheesman‘s choreography were “brilliant.”
Did you agree with the judges?...

Last week’s double elimination on “So You Think You Can Dance” seemed to be a relatively easy choice for the judges. Magda Fialek and Chelsea Hough were the bottom two women when viewer votes were counted up, and Cole Mills and Evan DeBenedetto were the bottom two men. The judges had been disappointed by Hough and DeBenedetto for what they felt was a lack of chemistry and for Hough’s lack of tap skills, so the judges decided to send them home and save Fialek and Mills. But will they be spared again tonight?
Our users who have made their predictions thus far are betting on Fialek to be sent home with leading odds of 8/11, which translates to a 57.25% chance of going home. What a difference a week makes! During the first “So You Think You Can Dance” live show of season 15 judge Nigel Lythgoe complained about the overt sexuality of one of Jay Jay Dixonbey and Jensen Arnold‘s routines. But in the second live show he had a change of heart, calling them the “strongest dance couple” on the entire show this season. That high praise came after an African jazz routine choreographed by Sean Cheesman that featured some of the night’s most difficult and innovative moves. It was Mary Murphy‘s favorite performance of the night too.

“So You Think You Can Dance” season 15 seems fairly wide open. Our users are divided eight ways when trying to predict the winner, with Cole Mills getting the slight edge going into the second live show. But our users are fairly confident about who will be eliminated. Poor Chelsea Hough is widely expected to be sent home. “So You Think You Can Dance” season 15 started its live shows on Monday night, August 6, and since then fans have been predicting who will win this season. The race so far looks like it’s wide open, with our users split 8 ways between the 10 contestants, but the early front-runner is Cole Mills.
As of this writing Mills gets leading odds of 8/5, which translates to a 38.74% chance of prevailing at the end of the season. The first live show of “So You Think You Can Dance” season 15 brought a bit of controversy. The judges mostly agreed on the performances, but there was a big schism between the panelists after Jay Jay Dixonbey and Jensen Arnold performed a sexy jazz routine choreographed by Mandy Moore. But was it a little too sexy?
That’s what Nigel Lythgoe thought. He felt the sexuality of the routine was too “overt” and was ultimately “overwhelming.” That sounded a lot like another older male judge on a dance competition show, Len Goodman (“Dancing with the Stars“), who is similarly conservative when it comes to routines he deems too raunchy for the dance floor. But just like Goodman usually is on “DWTS,” Lythgoe was voted down by his fellow judges Mary Murphy, Vanessa Hudgens and special guest Twitch.

“So You Think You Can Dance” season 15 starts its live shows tonight, August 6, with its top 10 contestants performing for America’s vote. But America has already voted for their favorites in our informal polls, and based on those results it looks like Jensen Arnold and Evan DeBenedetto are the ones to beat. Latin ballroom specialist Arnold wowed the judges when she took on an unfamiliar jazz routine in the last round of judges’ cuts when the top 10 women were whittled down to 5. And she comes from a formidable family of dance. Her big sister Lindsay Arnold competed in season nine of “Sytycd” and became a Mirror Ball Trophy winner on “Dancing with the Stars.” And their little sister Rylee Arnold will be a pro dancer on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.”

Contemporary dancer Jay Jay Dixonbey wasn’t a big fan of ballroom the last time he encountered the style while at the Academy on “So You Think You Can Dance,” so the final round of cuts before the live shows could have been a nightmare for him. This round forced him and the other nine contestants to perform a duet in a style that’s not their specialty. And what did Dixonbey get? Ballroom of course.
The charismatic dancer performed a cha cha with “Sytycd” all-star Chelsie Hightower, but while judge Nigel Lythgoe thought he had a few issues with his form, it turned out to be a relatively minor quibble. Though it’s a problem he’ll need to watch out for during the live shows. Read what the judges had to say about his routine below.
