Odd Projects, the Los Angeles-based talent management company founded in 2020 by former Anonymous Content and WME manager Nate Ruff, has brought in Brian Sokolik as managing partner and Joshua Cohen (no relation to our Tubefilter co-founder) as talent manager.
Sokolik started his career in the mailroom at 3 Arts Entertainment and became a talent manager at Fullscreen before rising to Head of Digital at Authentic Talent. Cohen, meanwhile, was with Authentic Talent for 11 years, working first in unscripted and endorsements, and then moving into digital.
Both Sokolik and Cohen have “first-class relationships” in the industry, Ruff told Deadline.
They’re bringing their talent rosters with them to Odd Projects, including clients like chef/creator/Nyt bestselling author Joshua Weissman, musician Alex Warren (who has 20 million followers on TikTok), and adventurous YouTuber Mike Corey, the host of channel Fearless & Far.

Odd Projects has made three additions to its client roster. The talent management company has signed Jacob Christensen (aka Nakey Jakey), TikToker Aaron Murphy, and internet commentator Nathan Stanz.
The new signings will slot into existing Odd Projects divisions like Gaming, Commentary, Music, and Impact. Christensen’s channel spans several of those verticals on its own. The man known as Nakey Jakey got a boost when an episode of his web series Games That Should Bang went viral. Seven years later, his video essays discuss everything from video games to book fairs, and he also has his own music career. Last year, he dropped a debut album called Romcom on Spotify.
Stanz’s career has also traversed through multiple internet communities. He’s a former esports exec who established himself as on platforms like YouTube by commenting on creator drama and other topics. He’s also known for his frequent...

Modern technology can be tough for any 71-year-old to pick up, but television's Judge Judy was a quick learner when she was introduced to Grindr in an episode that aired Monday. While hearing a case involving defendant Aaron Murphy and the much-older plaintiff Christopher Starnes, Judge Judy posed an obvious question: Where had the two men met? Murphy attempted to explain the hookup app with a polite euphemism: They'd met, he said, on "a social web site." Upon further examination, the defendant admitted Grindr was "a social app that tells you where homosexual males are." But, he assured the judge,...

Sen. Jon Tester hunts, farms, has seven fingers, and could well determine his party's fate in 2012. So why are liberals at his throat?
Jon Tester, United States senator, is face down in the mud. Earlier today, Tester and his wife, Sharla, drove from Great Falls, Mont., to their home, T-Bone Farms, 80 miles northeast. It's a journey the Testers have been making nearly every weekend since Jon joined the Senate in January 2007. As usual, they followed the Teton River through sloping sandstone canyons and out onto a vast expanse of flat, treeless farmland, with only the occasional man-made interruption: the United Grain silos in Kershaw, the Ace High Casino in Loma, a billboard about chewing tobacco. "Quitting Was Tough," it said, "But I'm Tougher." The trip took 80 minutes.

The Spare Stage production of Lee Blessing's A Body of Water - a Bay Area premiere - opens November 6 and runs through November 22 at Exit Theatre in San Francisco, with Spare Stage Artistic Director Stephen Drewes at the helm.
A middle-aged couple awakens in a beautiful country house on a hill, surrounded by trees and glimpses of water. There's just one problem. They can't remember their own names, much less the relationship between them. Their ensuing pursuit of memory yields both terrifying and comic results, setting them adrift on a leaky raft of postmodern anxiety.
For Moss (Val Hendrickson) and Avis (Holly Silk) the loss of memory equates to loss of self, a disorientation that produces a paralyzing loss of agency. Unable to move in any direction, they are at sea without a paddle. We're in Samuel Beckett territory here, with a generous splash of Neil Simon, stuck between...
