Speaking from my own personal perspective, Ice Guardians is one of the most interesting and gripping documentary’s I have watched recently. Full disclosure first… I am a Brit, a little Englander if you will so my knowledge of ice hockey and the world of that sport is very limited to the Mighty Ducks movies. However I love a good personal documentary that can engage me in something I know little about.
In Ice Guardians, director Brett Harvey carefully and passionately explores one of the most controversial and provocative positions in the history the National Hockey League, the Enforcer – telling the story of the most controversial positions in the world of sport, from...

Summer is drawing to a close, giving way to fall and everything that comes with it. From colourful leaves to kids returning to their classrooms, it’s a season that, in certain respects, marks the start of a new year. It also ushers in the beginning of something else that many of us Canadians look forward to, that being hockey season. With cooler weather comes early morning practices, lively community rinks and, of course, more NHL competition, which is preceded yet again by the release of EA Sports’ NHL 17.
With NHL 17, EA Sports’ Canadian unit looks to build upon last year’s standout effort, which followed a very ho-hum and oft complained about debut on current-gen hardware. Let’s not dwell on the disappointment that NHL 15 was, though, because it’s in the past, and as NHL 16 showed, the developers took our many criticisms to heart. Now, through NHL 17 — their...

Not very often do I find myself with nothing to do when I come up to Tiff, but that occurred on Monday. It was one of those rare days where I don't have a screening and I figured since I did fuck all, I'd combine Monday and Tuesday into one report. I mean, I could have just sent a report that said "Hi!" and left it at that, but that's not very entertaining at all. Although I didn't have any Tiff related stuff on Monday I did attend WWE's Monday Night Raw at the Acc. It was a pretty good show with the return of Toronto native Trish Stratus, looking nice as a brunette these days. It also gave me an opportunity to laugh at my friend for paying $25 to park. $25. For two hours. Wow. He then in turn laughed at me for paying $4.25 for a bottle of Coke Zero.
