Produced by “Emily in Paris” creator Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman (“Modern Family”), “Uncoupled” centres on gay New York City real estate broker Michael (Harris), who finds himself awkwardly and unexpectedly plunging back into the dating scene when his longtime boyfriend abruptly breaks up with him and moves out of their shared home.

You’d think someone like David Fincher would have proven their case for autonomy by now. You’d think that by hiring someone as stylistic and accomplished as Fincher, the studio would understand that the best way to help him make the best movie possible is to get out of his way and just let the man work. It’s merely a case of looking at Alien 3 versus Se7en: in the case of the former, the studio meddled, asserted control, and as a result the film was an utter disaster that Fincher doesn’t even like having his name attached to; in the case of the latter, he put his foot down, made the movie the way he wanted it made, and as a result he became an overnight sensation and a powerful new presence in cinema.

Netflix's adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events will debut in a few months! Until then, see Neil Patrick Harris' debut as Count Olaf in the first trailer!
Back in 2004, Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks Pictures, and Nickelodeon collectively worked on adapting Lemony Snicket's beloved series, A Series of Unfortunate Events. With Jim Carrey at the helm and a popular book fueling it, the movie was assured to be a success. Unfortunately, it wasn't, grossing only $118 million on a $140 million budget.
Now, Netflix is bringing back Count Olaf and the Bauledaire orphans, in hopes that it'll do better as a series, rather than a two-hour movie. This time, fan-favorite Neil Patrick Harris will take up the mantle as the mysterious Count Olaf. From the sample size we see above, he seems to be making his own mark on the character, choosing not to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor.

The best Oscars hosts are usually the hippest cats in Hollywood: Ellen DeGeneres, Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Martin, Johnny Carson, etc. -Break- Right now nobody is cooler than John Oliver, who is causing a firestorm of controversy with skewering religious leaders who promise divine reward in exchange for donations from the faithful. (Watch video below.) John Oliver doesn't fit the usual profile of Oscar host, you say? Not true. His Comedy Central predecessor Jon Stewart hosted the Academy Awards ceremony twice. Oliver has a media advantage over other contenders. His program "Last Week Tonight" appears on HBO, which doesn't pose the kind of ratings threat to ABC (the Oscars' network) that the other broadcast channels do. It's very rare that ABC will permit a star from NBC or CBS to emcee. That rules out possibilities like Jimmy Fallon and limits the field of choices. Who should return to host Oscars? Neil Patrick Har.

Neil Patrick Harris was recently announced as the upcoming host for the Academy Awards in 2015, and when he sat down with Entertainment Weekly's Matt Bean for a Sirius Xm "Town Hall" interview he had plenty to say about the opportunity. When asked who he would want as a dream duet partner for the show, Harris at first joked "Snow White," then went on to brainstorm out loud. "Gaga?" he wondered, before worrying if a Lady Gaga duet would be "movies" enough. "Adele? That would be cool. Pink? We could do circus things," he said, laughing. Read more Neil Patrick

CBS Corp Chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves is working on a 24-hour digital news network — but is not working on bringing Joel McHale to take over at host of Late Late Show. Moonves announced today, via an interview with Bloomberg Television, that he plans to launch a 24-hour digital news network, bypassing cable. “Wouldn’t it be a good idea to do a 24-hour digital channel taking all the resources that CBS News has … all over the world?” he asked, rhetorically. “There is so much information that we get every day that doesn’t fit into a 22-minute newscast at 6:30 or CBS This Morning. We can go direct digital. So that’s in the early stages, under the tutelage of David Rhodes, the President of CBS News, and it’s an exciting alternative to cable news.” Related: Networks Play It Safe, Lead-Ins Rule On 2014 Fall Schedule: Full Grid & Top...

Neil Patrick-Harris did a great job hosting this year's Emmys, starting with a fun opening that included binge watching the whole year on TV and then fighting with past hosts which led to a brilliant nod to “House of Cards” with Kevin Spacey. He then kept the show moving for three hours. However, the reason I loved this year’s Emmys was because of the achievements in television that were honoured. Tony Hale winning for “Veep” was such a joy to see as he gave two of the greatest supporting performances of the year with this show and “Arrested Development.” Following that up with a deserved repeat win by "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus led to the funniest acceptance speech of the night as Hale, in character, joined her on stage to feed her names to thank. “Breaking Bad” breaking into the drama series winner’s club just had to happen.

The 65th annual Emmy Awards, on Sept. 22, at the Nokia Theatre, was such a great night for television! There were so many hilarious and poignant moments during the show that we want you to relive them with us!
Between Neil Patrick Harris‘ awesome dance number, Elton John‘s Librace performance and Jane Lynch‘s emotional Cory Monteith tribute, the Emmys had us crying one minute and then laughing the next. But these are just a few of the best moments from the 2013 Emmy Awards!
2013 Best Emmy Awards Moment: Elton John & More
Neil’s opening monologue was very funny as they poked fun at the previous hosts of the show. But one of the best moments was when Neil did a middle of the show number and joked about how long the Emmys was this year — three hours. It really got people laughing and everyone was able to relate, because it is such a long show.

So sad. Edie honored her ‘Sopranos’ co-star at the 2013 Emmy Awards, and we have all the details on her emotional tribute.
Hollywood is still grieving James Gandolfini, and Edie Falco‘s emotional tribute to her former on-screen husband was so moving. We’re still wiping away our tears.
James Gandolfini Honored At 2013 Emmy Awards By Edie Falco
Edie took the stage with tears in her eyes as she remembered her dear friend and co-worker. She spoke very kind words about him while she recalled what a big heart he had during an emotional tribute on Sept. 22.
“He has tremendous warmth and heart,” she said. ” He was far more interested in turning the light onto people he thought were more worth,” she said, noting his “fierce loyalty to his friends.
“It’s Jim the man, the very dear man, that I will miss the most,” she said at the end of the tribute.

Adam Klugman is fuming over his father’s exclusion from an expanded special tribute at this weekend’s Primetime Emmys that includes Cory Monteith. “I think it’s criminal,” Klugman tells The Associated Press. “My dad was at the inception of television and helped build it in the early days.” Jack Klugman, a three-time Emmy winner and star of The Odd Couple and Quincy M.E., died in December. He, Larry Hagman and others who died in the past year will be part of a traditional In Memoriam remembrance during the awards ceremony, but not in a special tribute to five individuals: Monteith, James Gandolfini, Jean Stapleton, Jonathan Winters and Gary David Goldberg. The TV Academy announced the special tribute earlier this week. Adam Klugman took particular issue with Monteith’s inclusion. “It’s an insult and it really seems typical of this youth-centric culture that has an extremely short attention...

Happy Endings has had a troubled (to say the least) Season Three, as mediocre ratings and bizarre timeslot shifts (Sundays at 10 Pm. Really?) have put Season Four into much doubt. ABC is giving the show one more chance, if you can call it that, by throwing it into the wasteland of Friday night, where it will air double episodes at 9 Pm Et starting tomorrow night.
As we wait to see if the show will join the "Gone Too Soon" list, let's take a look back at some of the most memorable moments of Season Three from our favorite primetime cub Max.
Max and Brad pretend to be a gay couple to get free stuff at the Wedding Expo. Until Max gets the "Gay Turn Around."
"F*ck You & F*ck You & F*ck You & F*ck You & F*ck You"
From the same episode, Max lets his revenge guard down to celebrate with Penny.

This week's gonzo teen nightmare Spring Breakers is trumpeting the fact that two of its leads - Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez - traditionally play "good girls". But the whole "teen idol gone bad" strategy is a longstanding Hollywood tradition aimed to help transition pigeonholed teen stars into "serious" actors.
Here are a few fellas who tried the tactic, to varying degrees of success.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas in Speedway Junky
The squeaky-clean kid from Home Improvement took a step toward tarnishing his image by playing an evil, bisexual hooker in this gritty drama, giving a whole new meaning to "Tool Time"!
Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Mysterious Skin
Jgl also went the hustler route for his breakout from small-screen teen stardom - only the 3rd Rock star went "the full gay" in this unsettling and excellent indie drama.
Lukas Haas in Johns

This week’s episode of Spartacus: War of the Damned starts where most episodes end: with buckets of blood. And I mean literally buckets, as blood is dripping everywhere. Clean up on Aisle 5! Spartacus and Agron inspect the dead bodies of the fallen Romans. Spartacus seems sad that so many died so uselessly, and orders Nasir to clean the blood off of the bodies and to salt them. Spartacus tells Agron, “They may yet serve some purpose.” Hmm. Salt is a preservative. Is Spartacus holding on to the dead Romans in case food shortages get so bad the rebels have to go all Donner Party on the corpses? Seriously, what is Spartacus up to?

Neil Patrick Harris is an Emmy-winning TV star, a dynamite Tonys host, a witty Twitter presence (@ActuallyNPH), and an adorable gay thang. But here's a fun tidbit you might not know about the jaunty Nph: He hates your Christ. (Thunder crash.)
So says Conservative web publication World Net Daily, which printed an article claiming that a CBS Super Bowl ad featuring Harris wearing facepaint in the style of Christian player Tim Tebow is "mocking Christians" and "pushing a gay agenda." Before going pro, Tebow was well-known in college football for wearing eyeblack touting Bible verses such as John 3:16. In the promo (pictured above), Nph's eyeblack reads the date of the Super Bowl. Tsb, guys. Tsb. (Typical Sodomite Behavior.)
Some key passages from the article:
