Nate Turnpaugh is an American filmmaker, known as the show runner and main actor in "Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre." An Air Force war veteran, Turnpaugh began his film career much later, at 34, after completing his Bachelor's in Film and Media from Ball State University and earning his Master's in Screenwriting from Full Sail University. He resides in Indiana with his wife and two teenagers.
Turnpaugh leans towards the horror-comedy combination in his films and shows. As a writer, he uses method acting in order to write more colorfully resonating characters. Prior to "Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre," Turnpaugh trained to be a professional wrestler to write a wrestling screenplay. He wrestled for nearly three years before leaving the industry to focus full time on filmmaking.
"Personally, I act like an old Warner Brothers cartoon, so I approach film in the same way. You won't find a flick or show I make, whether it be comedy, horror, or drama, that won't have at least some hints of ridiculousness."
