Amy Strauss was born Louisa Aimee Schwartz in the charming old town of
Fussen, Germany; internationally renowned holiday and health resort in
the "King's Nook" of Bavaria, near to the fabulous Neuschwanstein
Castle on August 5, 1970 to Colin Schwartz, a doctor and Gertrude
Schwartz, a teacher.
Amy took a variation of her middle name (originally pronounced I-may) when she decided to become a model and actress at the age of 16. She met her husband, Producer Olaf Strauss in New York City in 1989 while shooting a commercial for BMW. They married 2 years later. She currently lives in Munich, Germany with her husband and 3 children: Colin (10 yrs), Sasha Rayanne (12 yrs) and Mayla (6 yrs). Amy still on occasion will appear in a film or commercial, but has decided to shift her focus on her children and family.
Amy has appeared in commercials for BMW, tourism spots for the Town of Fussen, Germany, several independent films and studio German features. A former Ford model with credits in Vogue, Glamour and several others.
