Update: President Joe Biden, speaking to attendees at tonight’s Los Angeles fundraiser, said that Donald Trump “is dragging us back to the past and not leading us to the future.”
“We stand with the truth and we are going to defeat him and his lies,” Biden said at the event, according to a pool report. The event was at the home of Haim Saban, but he was not there after testing positive for Covid, nor was the other main co-host, Casey Wasserman, who also tested positive.
In his remarks, which lasted about 15 minutes, Biden presented a contrast between himself and Trump, as donors have been calling for the campaign to sharpen its attacks on the president’s likely rival.
Biden also talked of the death of Alexei Navalny, blaming it on Vladimir Putin. He called it “outrageous” that Trump has not condemned the Russian leader.

The Alabama Democratic Party has floated the idea of former football coach Nick Saban running against Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama) for the U.S. Senate.
Saban, days after his team was eliminated from the college football playoff, announced that he would retire.
In early January, there were increasing calls for the former coach to enter politics.
On January 10, Josh Moon, a reporter for the Alabama Political Reporter, suggested that Saban, the winner of six national championships with the Alabama Crimson Tide, should transfer to politics.
“Nick Saban for U.S. Senate,” Moon wrote on X. “Save us from Tommy Tuberville one more time.”
The Alabama Democratic Party reposted this suggestion and emphasized their endorsement of it in the caption.
“We officially second this,” they stated.
Saban stayed away from politics for most of his career, except when he endorsed Sen. Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia), whom he grew up with in West Virginia.

"This isn't a job anymore... it's turned into a war." Saban has revealed an official trailer for Hellhound, an action thriller from Thailand made by an American filmmaker named Joshua Dixon originally from Texas. This will be getting a VOD release directly in January for anyone who wants to watch this. Otherwise, just skip it, you won't miss much. Ready to leave his profession behind, Loreno, an assassin, lends help to an old friend, Cetan, and taking one last job in Thailand seeking out a local kingpin. A judgment lapse violently crosses paths with an old colleague Paul. Louis Mandylor stars in this new action thriller - a seasoned hitman on the cusp of retirement finds himself pulled back into the deadly world he is yearning to leave behind. Also starring Vithaya Pansringarm, Van Quattro, Jirayu Yimamphai, Ron Smoorenburg, and Tofan Pirani. Yet another extremely generic action movie to ignore.

Rico Verhoeven’s Dutch-produced acting debut is a slapdash meeting of illogical storylines amid meaningless plot points
This hapless Dutch-produced thriller almost redeems itself with a decent final sequence staged in the neon-doused John Wick style, but it is too little, too late. Gigantic 6ft 5in kickboxer Rico Verhoeven blows his shot at action stardom with a showing of anti-charisma best described as if Lenny from Of Mice and Men had become a special forces operative. And the Amsterdam tourist board – for whom this at least lustrously shot film serves as a long commercial – must hold serious dirt on Frank Grillo for him to have signed up. Even by his snap-your-hand-off-for-a-paycheck standards, he has a binfire on his hands.
Verhoeven plays Matteo, former crack point man for a tactical unit of vague remit, who is licking his wounds after a hostage rescue at the German national opera goes south and his boss is killed.

"Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" first hit the airwaves in 1993, and even though that original iteration of Rangers didn't last all that long, the series has remained remarkably enduring. 30 years later, the series has aired nearly 1,000 episodes through its various iterations, has inspired hundreds of issues of comics books, millions in toy sales, and is truly a globally recognized brand with huge staying power. Still, the franchise has never managed to fully crack the code in making the jump to movies.
Two films, the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie in 1995 and "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie," did fine enough by '90s "kids movies based on a show" standards, which were ultimately more about selling toys and copies of the films on VHS.

Walker is an assassin, one of the best in the business. But this time one of the witnesses wasn’t as dead as they seemed to be. With his cover potentially blown, he needs a trip to “Reassignment Center 42” to be fitted out with a new identity, a process that he seems to be quite familiar with.
This time however there’s barely time for him to have his fingerprints burned off before the facility comes under attack by a team of heavily armed mercenaries under the command of Keates. Their target is Juliet and her protector Elda.
Director Brad Watson’s credits run more towards horror films such as Beacon 77 and For We Are Many than action, and The Siege is Nicole Bartlett’s first produced script...

Update: President Joe Biden told a group of donors at the home of Haim Saban that “we’re going to live with this inflation for a while,” but said that “this idea that inflation is caused by the economic growth we’ve caused is simply not true.”
Inflation, Biden said, according to pool reporters, is “going to come down gradually but we are going to live with it for a while,” as he argued that the solution is to lower prices on other things.
The event at the home of Saban and wife Cheryl Saban raised money for the Democratic National Committee, and was the second of two on Friday. They were Biden’s first in-person fundraisers in Los Angeles since he took office.
Folliowing remarks from DNC chairman Jaime Harrison and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-ca), Saban introduced Biden.
