Marjan Khosravi is a young Iranian women filmmaker who studied Cinema and Media Art. In 2018 she made her first short documentary, The Price of Blood, which garnered much admiration in many national festivals like Tehran Intl. Short Film Festival and Iranian Documentary Film Festival (Cinéma vérité).
The Snow Calls was Marjan's first mid-length documentary, which was selected for the student competition of IDFA 2020 and won the best feature documentary award from Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and it has been selected for competition section of many international festivals like DMZ, IFEF, Ethnofest and etc.
VADIYAR is her second short fiction film experience, which has been nominated for grand prix and Ingmar Bergman Award of 40th edition of Uppsala short film festival and screened in 20 other well-known festivals.
Marjan also made another short documentary, The Dream of a Horse, in 2020 which has been nominated for best short documentary at 62nd edition of Krakow Film Festival and Big Sky International Documentary Film Festival.
Marjan is making her first feature film, A Woman's Path, that newly has won Hot Docs Crosscurrents Fund and it had participated in major Documentary Labs/Furums like Hot Docs, DMZ Docs Lab, Sunny Side of the Docs and Big Sky Pitch.
In 2023 Marjan made another short documentary film, Mrs. Iran's Husband that it describe the patriarchal society in Iran. Mr.s Iran's Husband is selected for the short competition of Hot Docs.
Marjan usually focuses on women rights, children issues and gender diversity and usually women social problems are the leitmotiv in all of her films.
