It’s a full-blown holiday Hamm-aissance. Jon Hamm will next star in Apple TV+’s new drama series “Your Friends and Neighbors,” which he’ll also executive produce. The show is based on an idea from Jonathan Tropper, who is also showrunner on the project.
Americans are carving into freshly baked Hamm all over the place right now. Hamm is currently hamm-ing it up on Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show” and FX’s new season of “Fargo” — not to mention his upcoming animated Fox series “Grimsburg” (which he also EPs in addition to providing the lead voice) and Amazon Prime Video’s “Good Omens” earlier this year. Jon Hamm is what’s for TV dinner.
Hamm previously appeared in an Apple TV+ marketing spot, “Everyone But Jon Hamm.” That was clearly rectified. Now, Apple Studios is behind “Your Friend and Neighbors,” in which he’ll play the lead as Coop,...

George Miller has tapped Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II to star in “Furiosa,” the prequel movie based on Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa character from 2015’s “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
Taylor-Joy will play title role, a younger version of Furiosa. Miller had said in a May interview with The New York Times that he’d been searching for searching for an actress in her 20s to take over the role. He said at the time he had considered using de-aging technology in order to allow Theron — who’s 44 –to play the part again, but has decided against doing so. Taylor-Joy is 24.
Miller will direct, co-write and produce “Furiosa,” along with his longtime producing partner Doug Mitchell. The film will be produced by Miller’s own Australian-based Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner, together with “Fury Road” partner Warner Bros. Pictures.

George Miller told Deadline about Furiosa having a deep backstory in the Mad Max universe, and now we’ll finally get to see it: Warner Bros. is in advanced development with Furiosa, a spinoff feature of Miller’s multi-Oscar winning blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road about the renegade character (played in that film by Oscar winner Charlize Theron) who was a notable force in Max’s survival in the desert.
The standalone movie will reveal the origins of Furiosa and be played by Glass actress Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role. The movie will track the genesis of Furiosa before she teamed up with Max Rockatansky in Fury Road. Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will also star in a movie that Miller will also direct, co-write and produce with his longtime Oscar-nominated producing partner Doug Mitchell. Anya Taylor-Joy is set to play Furiosa, the character originated by Charlize Theron in “Mad Max: Fury Road,” in a standalone action film “Furiosa” that will also star Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Warner Bros. announced Tuesday.
George Miller will return to the director’s chair for the film that will track Furiosa’s origins before she teamed up with Mad Max in “Fury Road.”
Miller will also co-write and produce, and his “Fury Road” team at his Australian-based Kennedy Miller Mitchell production house will also return for “Furiosa.”
It’s unclear what role both Hemsworth and Abdul-Mateen II will play, but “Furiosa” is still set in the dystopian, desert wasteland Miller created as far back as the original “Mad Max” trilogy with Mel Gibson. Miller had previously been eyeing Taylor-Joy for the role among other actresses and had conceived of a backstory for Furiosa as he was writing...
