If we didn’t have a clear picture of what the Season 20 finale of The Voice was going to look like before Monday’s Semi-Finals — and we kinda did — we sure did afterwards. It was going to be a two-contestant race between Team Blake Shelton’s so-good-i’m-running-out-of-superlatives Cam Anthony and Team Kelly Clarkson’s young old-school country boy Kenzie Wheeler.
But who would be joining them, competing for third fourth and fifth place? Based on Monday’s performances, singing for the Wildcard Instant Save Tuesday would be Team Nick Jonas’ Rachel Mac, Team Kelly’s Corey Ward, Team John...

Sometimes it pays to go into an episode of The Voice with low expectations — yes, even if it’s the Semi-Finals. After last week’s Live Playoffs saw (heard?) numbers originally performed by Corinne Bailey Rae, Ariana Grande and the Backstreet Boys massacred by since-eliminated contestants, I — and what’s that, you say? You, too? — lowered the bar ahead of Monday’s sing-off. But it turned out that for the most part, we hadn’t needed to. Read on, and we’ll discuss why…

Heading into the fourth episode of “The Voice” Season 20, the teams were almost evenly divided as John Legend, Blake Shelton and Nick Jonas all had six artists and Kelly Clarkson had five. The ultimate goal coming out of these blind auditions is for each coach to have 10 artists on their teams, so we’re more than halfway there. Reminder: thanks to John blocking Nick from getting Ciana Pelekai on his team last night, all of the blocks are now out of play. Heading into the third episode of “The Voice” Season 20, Blake Shelton and Nick Jonas were in the lead with four artists apiece on their teams for these blind audition rounds. Kelly Clarkson and John Legend were behind slightly at three artists each, but that was all about to change as more artists were set to pick their teams during Monday’s two-hour episode. Every time a coach pressed their “I Want You” button and turned their big red chair around, they had a chance to try to convince that artist to join their team. Sometimes their pitches worked, other times they fell flat. So how did it all play out on Monday night?

The real competition on “The Voice” isn’t among the contestants — it’s at the judging panel. Rival coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas are having more fun than ever in Season 20 thanks to their ever-growing ruthlessness and cutthroat attitudes. They each want to win, no matter the cost, and viewers can’t get enough of their antics.
