After touring solo last summer, Kenny Chesney has decided to bring along a few of his friends on his next tour.
Chesney’s “Sun Goes Down” 2024 tour will welcome the Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker to the stages next summer.

“Megan Moroney isn’t just one of the smart new voices in country, she’s really bringing a sense of heart and joy to the music – and I’m fired up to be bringing her out to the No Shoes Nation,” he continued. “And Uncle Kracker has been part of so many fun times, crazy moments and memories made, it always kicks things up a notch when he’s out there with us. On “Chevrolet,” Dustin Lynch explains how he doesn’t need much for everlasting happiness. Y’know, he simply requires a six-pack (beverage nonspecific), some Brooks & Dunn (let’s go with “Rock My World”), a little “country girl” (“dressed to kill,” natch), a vehicle (guess), and apparently free rein to rewrite the lyrics to Dobie Gray’s 1973 hit, “Drift Away.”
The song, which features Jelly Roll, the leading CMA Awards male nominee, and appears on Lynch’s upcoming Killed the Cowboy album, is a note-for-note remake of the 50-year-old soft-rock...

In addition to an enormously successful career as a stand-up comedian and a stint as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live," Chris Rock has starred in several acclaimed feature films. While much of Rock's cinematic work revolves around the signature humor he's known for in his stand-up, he has branched out to different genres, including crime thrillers and horror. Immensely magnetic, Rock commands full attention whenever he's on screen, elevating the projects he appears in, even on the occasions when he takes a supporting role.
More than just an actor, Rock is a solid filmmaker in his own right, producing, writing, and directing several projects. With a big screen career that began in the '80s, Rock has dozens of movies under his belt and is among the more underrated actors in Hollywood, evidenced by the bold choices in his performances. Bob and I started spending more time in Detroit, his hometown. We had our big family wedding there, where Bob Seger and Hank Williams Jr. sang for us. Our life in Detroit was full of music. I took for granted all those nights with Hank, Zz Top, Uncle Kracker, Eminem, and Bob’s band. To be around such talent was inspiring. It was a true rock-and-roll lifestyle, gritty and soulful. Detroit had an energy all its own.

TV’s favorite guessing game continues tonight with Season 8’s second episode of “The Masked Singer.” Famous faces hidden inside outrageous costumes will sing for panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger in hopes of winning the Golden Mask trophy. Host Nick Cannon emcees the wild and wacky fun.
Each episode features several jaw-dropping performances by intricately disguised celebrities, but for the first time ever, only one contestant will move on from each episode. Even though “The Masked Singer’s” Hummingbird was technically eliminated at the end of the season premiere, there was a “to be continued” cliffhanger and viewers didn’t actually find out his true identity until the start of the second episode. As it turned out, all four of the panelists guessed incorrectly, and Hummingbird turned out to be none other than Chris Kirkpatrick.

Blake Shelton sure chose an interesting way of welcoming John Legend to Season 16 of “The Voice.” Moments after Gyth Rigdon began singing Uncle Kracker‘s “Drift Away” in the season premiere, Blake rudely slammed his hand down on his “Block” button to prevent the young country artist from joining the new coach’s team. “Who blocked me? They don’t want us to be together!” John shouted at Gyth after his performance was over. Watch “The Voice” blind audition video above.

It's night two of the knockout rounds on "The Voice," with coaches Blake Shelton and Usher pitting their teams against one another to see who'll make it to the live shows next week, after Adam Levine and Shakira put their teams through the paces last night. Who will make it through?
First Knockout: Team Blake - Savannah Berry vs. Justin Rivers
Songs: "As Long As You Love Me" - Justin Bieber (Savannah); "The Climb" - Miley Cyrus (Justin)
Performances: It's interesting that both chose a gender-flipping pop star's song to compete with. Justin's rehearsals reveal that he's bringing a much more straightforward version of Miley's track, while Savannah's really trying to something different with her spin on the Biebs.
In her performance, Savannah really presents a twist on "Alaylm," charming Bieber's mentor Usher even into singing along. Justin's performance is a slog. This song choice doesn't make any sense for him.

Kid Rock says he's not a fan of his fans paying high prices to see his shows, which is why he's selling $20 tickets to his "Best Night Ever" summer tour.
Rock seems to think his friends in the music business should take note. He's less than pleased that some are selling outrageously priced tickets to their concerts, and said as much during an appearance this week on CNN's "Piers Morgan Live."
When Morgan asked him about the current prices for the "Legends of the Summer" tour featuring Jay-z and Justin Timberlake, which top $250 with fees in cities like Detroit and New York City, the singer-songwriter didn't hold back.
“It’s garbage. It’s highway robbery,” Kid Rock told Piers. “I don’t care who you are. I would consider both of them in the circle of friends in the business, but I don’t agree with it.”

Kid Rock wasn't afraid to show his Republican pride during the presidential election, but apparently that doesn't mean all of the Gop's policies sit well with the rocker. You may have heard that the musician has been planning to try and hook fans up by selling concert tickets for his tour this summer with Zz Top, Uncle Kracker and Kool & the Gang for just $20 (and beer for just $4), but he's running into some trouble due to ticketing fees and the fact that some states have outlawed paperless ticketing. Nashville, Tenn. (AP) — Dobie Gray was more than a smooth balladeer who recorded the timeless hit "Drift Away" in 1973. He wrote songs for an array of country and pop performers, was a trailblazing entertainer in South Africa and, in death, a philanthropist. Gray died in his sleep at his Nashville home Tuesday after a long battle with cancer. He was 69. "Drift Away" also was recorded by rap artist Uncle Kracker in 2003 and became a hit again. Texas-born singer-songwriter Dobie Gray, best known for his hit song "Drift Away," has passed away, per his official website. He was 71 years old. Gray, whose real name is unknown (he may have been born Leonard Victor Ainsworth or Laurence Darrow Brown) was given the nickname "Dobie" by Sonny Bono, who was referencing sitcom "The Many Lives of Dobie Gillis."
Gray enjoyed success in the 1960s and early '70s with "The In Crowd" and Mentor Williams' "Drift Away," which would remain a staple song for years to come. Most recently Detroit rapper Uncle Kracker (a Kid Rock protege) enjoyed success with a 2003 version of the song he recorded with Gray, which broke adult contemporary records and transcended radio genres.
The Dec. 6 death announcement offers no cause, simply reading, "Dobie Gray: July 26, 1940 - December 6, 2011."
Kracker tweeted, "My heart goes out to Dobie's family this evening. Rip Dobie Gray.

Taylor Swift is adorable. So adorable that she even makes Eminem sound breathlessly cute.
At a recent show in Grand Rapids, Mich., Swift showed off her rap chops when she covered Eminem's "Lose Yourself" -- or about a minute of it. She follows it up with a cover of Uncle Kracker's "Smile" before busting in to her own mega hit, "You Belong with Me."
Honestly, it's just refreshing to see a young musician who is actually, umm, a musician. And, bonus!: No interrupting Kanye!

What does country music artist Taylor Swift have in common with rapper Eminem? Not a lot. However she clearly listens to his music.
Swift was under the weather not so long ago, suffering from bronchitis and having to postpone concert stops on her “Speak Now” tour. She is looking much recovered however, in today’s fund video, which you will find below. I’m sure I’m not the only one who adores Taylor Swift’s covers. I have a Lua cover and Coldplay cover on my iPod now. But who knew the young artist would go so diverse for her fans?
In Toronto, she recently (and smartly, I might add) sang a collage of songs from Canadian artists. These included Justin Bieber’s “Baby,” Alanis Morissette’s “You Learn,” and Tal Bachman’s “She’s So High”. Then, in Newark, New Jersey, Entertainment Weekly reporters were on hand for...

This week, the Top 7 will take on songs from the 21st century. Songs from The Future (nope, the last 11 years). Get out your Now CDs! I'm just hoping that by now the Top 7 have enough sense to stay away from auto-tuned songs, or anything by the Black Eyed Peas. Will they feel obligated to? Since Will.I.Am will just be sitting there, staring at them?
Here are my suggestions/predictions for the Top 7, which will definitely be wrong.
Casey Abrams
Song: "Wonderful" by Everclear or "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker
I think Casey has a pretty good '90s vibe, so songs from the early 2000s would work for him. He could also surprise us with "Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble. Would he? Nahh.

At a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, it was unraveled that Triple-Crown Award recipient Carrie Underwood got snubbed while big winner at 2010 Cma Awards Miranda Lambert continued to dominate.

'Men of a Certain Age' (10Pm, TNT) season 2 premiere
The friends are embarking on new adventures as the second season of the endearing, funny, male version of a chick flick series premieres, and, of course, all is not going to proceed smoothly. Joe is excited about the prospect of qualifying for the seniors golf tour, until those early Am practice sessions kick in. And then there's his new house; it's great, except for the fact that it's in the same 'hood as the bookie the recovering gambling addict is trying to avoid. As for Owen, he's finally in charge at the auto dealership, and one of his first major decisions was hiring pal Terry as a salesman, a move that, so far, is not working out so well for either of them.

On Monday (August 30), Kid Rock announced that his upcoming album will be called Born Free, and that it will be hitting stores on November 16. In keeping with the decidedly blue-collar path he cut with his 2007 comeback disc Rock N Roll Jesus, Kid won't be rapping on the new album (so says an accompanying press release), instead drawing inspiration from "American classic rock." Bob Seger, Sheryl Crow, Zac Brown and Trace Adkins are all confirmed to appear on the album, not to mention T.I. and Martina McBride, who — in a decidedly Wtf twist — both appear on a track called "Care."
The first single off Born Free is, appropriately enough, the title track, which hits radio on September 14. While we're totally pumped to hear it (our flags are already unfurled), we'd be remiss if we didn't point out the fact that M.I.A. already released a song called "Born Free" earlier this year,...

Mike Posner graduated from Duke in May, and like many young people just out of college, he needs a job. 31 Minutes To Takeoff acts as a résumé of sorts, showcasing his songwriting, producing, and vocal skills. Think Justin Timberlake’s less-talented cousin, or Andy Samberg. But if he continues crafting catchy synth-pop songs like “Please Don’t Go” and the creeping summer hit “Cooler Than Me,” Posner should be able to find employment in this tough economy. Still, Takeoff is a bit muddled. “Do U Wanna?” sounds like Uncle Kracker. “Delta 1406” evokes Elo and features pretentious lyrics ...
