“World of Dance” ended its fourth season on Wednesday night, August 12, and Mdc 3 made history as the first contemporary dancers to win the show after three straight seasons of hip-hop/street performers taking the grand prize. They had the judges’ favorite routine on the final night of the competition, but what were the best routines of the whole season? Now that we’ve seen every performance from every contestant this year, scroll down for my take on the best of the best routines the show had to offer this summer. Watch those performances, and let us know if you agree below in the comments or here in our forums.

“World of Dance” continued its fourth season on Tuesday night, June 9, with its third week of Qualifiers during which judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough surprise competitors with their presence at what they think are supposed to be auditions for producers. This season the judges don’t give their usual scores from 0 to 100 during the Qualifiers. Instead, you only need to get a yes from a majority of them to advance to the next round, the head-to-head Duels. But that doesn’t mean the judges are pushovers. They’ve already rejected two acts outright: the sibling hip-hop crew The Williams Fam and the Native American dance team Indigenous Enterprise.

Turns out these grown-ups coached VPeepz, which means they had a lot to live up to. How did they do? Watch their performance above.

Derek Hough loved their “style” and thought they lived up to the Peepz name their young predecessors made for themselves. But the Peepz name is both a blessing and a curse since it raises the bar for the judges’ expectations. Jennifer Lopez told them they have to “surpass” their proteges to stand out this year,...
