Jeopardy!‘s Invitational Tournament continued, and the latest game yielded some promising results for one returning player among the three former contestants invited to play in this special round of games. Among the competitors for the March 21 game were 2013’s Teen Tournament winner Leonard Cooper, 2021 Tournament of Champions semifinalist Jason Zuffranieri, and 2019 All-Star Games winner Larissa Kelly. But only one of them could emerge victorious to land a spot in the semifinals of the Invitational Tournament. It turned out to be Larissa who had a sizable victory over Leonard and Jason, winning $40,200 over their respective $14,300 and $13,600. Ultimately, it was a big bet in Final Jeopardy that led to Larissa’s latest success as she and Leonard were the only ones to provide correct responses in the last round. As you may have heard, things are a bit hectic for Jeopardy! at the moment.
The beloved quiz show announced on August 11 that it had finally done the impossible and selected legendary host Alex Trebek’s replacement. In this case, it’s replacements. Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards will take over as the full time host of the syndicated series beginning with its 38th season. Meanwhile, fellow guest host and former Blossom and Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik will also be involved with the show going forward. Bialik will shepherd several upcoming primetime Jeopardy! specials starting with the Jeopardy! National College Championship airing on ABC this year.
Naturally, the choices were immediately met with controversy, as any choices regarding Trebek’s replacement(s) were bound to be. We went deep on our concerns over Richards’ selection over here (Tl;Dr he’s got some baggage and it’s a...

Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions finalist Ryan Bilger is sorry if he “ruined” your viewing experience by being a bit too “loud” and “excited” — and deciding to “go for the kill” — during Monday night’s episode.
En route to winning $32,405 and advancing to the semifinals, Bilger of Macungie, Pa. at one point beat his chest in anticipation of acing a question, and at another point told 2017 Toc champ/guest host Buzzy Cohen, “I’m gonna go for the kill” as he wagered $6,000 on a Daily Double. Jason Zuffranieri’s 19-game “Jeopardy!” winning streak was snapped on Thursday by researcher Gabe Brison-Trezise.
Zuffranieri won a total of $532,496 across a total of 19 wins, ranking him among the upper echelon of “Jeopardy!” champs. He currently holds the number-three spot on the list of all-time highest regular season winnings.
It’s a distant third, though, with “Jeopardy!” sensations James Holzhauer and Ken Jennings both earning more than four times Zuffranieri during their winning streaks.

Zuffranieri is also tied for fourth place on the list of most consecutive wins with Season 22’s David Madden. Only three players have won more: Julia Collins (20 games), Holzhauer (32 games), and Jennings (74 games).
“My mentality for 25 years was that I wasn’t meant to be on the show for whatever reason: not smart enough, not camera-friendly, not interesting, whatever,” Zuffranieri said in a statement.
