Hot off his first Emmy win, Nick Offerman will pop up on The Conners when the ABC sitcom returns for Season 6 on February 7. Offerman appears to be playing an author, judging by the book Jay R. Ferguson’s Ben Olinsky holds in a new Season 6 teaser shared by TVLine. “Are you family?” Offerman’s character asks John Goodman’s Dan Conner later in that promo. “I’ve never seen these people before in me life,” Dan responds, faking a Cockney accent, as Katey Sagal’s Louise looks on uneasily. Offerman is best known for playing grumpy government employee Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation. Since the 2015 finale of that NBC comedy, the actor has starred in the TV shows Devs, Pam & Tommy, and The Resort. Sean Astin is making a return trip to The Conners, reprising his role as Tyler, Becky’s pilot beau, in the ABC comedy’s upcoming sixth season. As fans can see in a Season 6 teaser posted by TVLine, Astin’s FedEx pilot seems to getting serious with Becky Conner-Healy (Lecy Goranson), so much so that Dan Conner (John Goodman) refers to him as “New Boyfriend” as he deals Tyler into a poker game. “I’m gonna take all your money and your daughter,” Tyler says in the teaser. “Only half of that bothers me,” Dan quips, to Becky’s surprise. The Roseanne spinoff’s producers were eager to get Astin — an alum of The Goonies and the Lord of the Rings films — back on the Conners set, TVLine notes. “Whenever we bring in a new love interest, we’ve got to watch the chemistry, because we never know [if it will work],” executive producer...

When Roseanne got canceled by ABC, it seemed like the franchise was done.
However, the network worked with everyone sans Roseanne Barr to craft The Conners, a new series that took place in a post-Roseanne world.
Now entering its sixth season, there's a good chance we're reaching the end of the line.
If you watch The Conners online, you know the show has managed to tell timely stories, but it's lasted longer than many anticipated.

Although John Goodman is best remembered for his role as working-class father Dan Conner on TV’s “Roseanne” and “The Conners,” he’s also enjoyed a very successful big screen career as well, working with such directors as the Coen brothers, Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis. Let’s look back at 20 of his greatest films, ranked worst to best.
Surprisingly (and criminally), not one of these roles brought Goodman an Oscar nomination. He did compete at the Golden Globes as Best Supporting Actor for “Barton Fink” (1991), but the academy went for his co-star Michael Lerner instead. Goodman also contended at the Globes four times as Best TV Comedy Actor for “Roseanne”, winning in 1993.
At the Emmys, Goodman earned seven consecutive Best Comedy Actor bids for “Roseanne” (1989-1995) and won for his guest performance on “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” (2007). He’s also contended for his TV-movie work: once as...

Exclusive: The current fifth season of ABC’s The Conners will be the largest yet for the Roseanne spinoff. It will include 22 episodes, traditionally considered a full-season broadcast order.
The series’ first season, which rose out of the ashes of Roseanne’s implosion, consisted of 11 episodes. With cast members being signed year-to-year and juggling other commitments, The Conners produced 20 episodes each in Seasons 2-4. That count has now gone up to 22 episodes. I hear the news was shared during the Oct. 7 taping of the multi-camera comedy.
ABC has been stocking up on its most popular comedy series. This past summer, the network expanded the current sophomore season of breakout Abbott Elementary to a full-season 22 episodes. And The Goldbergs’ ninth season last season also was padded with additional episodes to reach the 22-episode mark.

Every year since 2015, Anthony Anderson has been included in the Best Comedy Series Actor Emmy lineup as the star of “Black-ish,” making him one of the 11 most-nominated men in the category’s history. However, unlike most people who have been recognized as many or more times for playing a single character, all of his nominations have been unsuccessful. Last year, his Dre Johnson became one of five male characters (and the third in the lead male comedy category) to hit seven bids but no wins.
Since his show aired its last episode in April 2022, there is now one final opportunity for voters to make Johnson an Emmy-winning character. As of now, he is one of 14 male characters who suffered Emmy snubs for six or more nominations each. Check out our photo gallery detailing these 14 perennial also-rans.

Beloved character actor Ned Beatty, who made his film debut in 1972’s “Deliverance” and delivered memorable performances in classics like 1976’s “Network” and 1978’s “Superman,” died on Sunday at age 83.
“Ned passed away from natural causes Sunday morning, surrounded by his family and loved ones,” Beatty’s manager, Deborah Miller, said in a statement provided to TheWrap. “His family has decided to keep details private at this time. Ned was an iconic, legendary talent, as well as a dear friend, and he will be missed by us all.”
Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1937, Beatty got his start as an actor in regional theater in the South in the 1960s before making his film debut in John Boorman’s 1972 film “Deliverance” as an Atlanta businessman on a canoe trip with three buddies who gets humiliated — and raped — by two Georgia mountainmen.

“With heavy hearts we regret to confirm that a member of our technical crew suffered a fatal medical event today,” a spokesperson for production company Carsey-Werner confirmed to TheWrap via a statement. “He was a much loved member of ‘The Conners’ and ‘Roseanne’ families for over 25 years. As we remember our beloved colleague, we ask that you respect the privacy of his family and loved ones as they begin their grieving process.”
The man was on the catwalk on Stage 22 on the CBS Studio Center when he suffered a medical emergency and was unable to be resuscitated by medics, according to TMZ. The gossip website said the man was in “his 50s or 60s” and primarily worked the lighting for the show.

This article contains spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Dallas and Roseanne.
When Marvel first announced that it would be creating a spinoff show for Disney+ led by MCU superheroes Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), there was some understandable confusion from fans who weren’t quite sure how it would work. After all, WandaVision wasn’t supposed to be a prequel, and as far as we were aware post-Avengers: Infinity War, Vision was, well, very dead. Dead as a doornail. Gone before The Snap and therefore quite lost. Rip to a real one, etc.
During the closing stages of Infinity War, the Avengers – along with T’Challa and the Wakandan armies – had tried to mount a defense against the forces of Thanos while Shuri worked to extract the Mind Stone from Vision’s forehead, but she was unable to remove it before Thanos arrived.

It makes sense then that the series is tacking the Coronavirus pandemic and how it affects the family, and those around them.
"The Conners are back and dealing with the pandemic, and life’s financial troubles loom over the family," reads the ABC press release for the highly anticipated return.
"Dan is still trying to catch up on back-mortgage payments and avoid a potential eviction, while the Lunch Box is closed for everything but takeout and delivery," it continues.

Life hasn't exactly been easy for Dan Conner (John Goodman) without Roseanne, but in E! News' exclusive The Conners sneak peek, one thing is for sure easier for him: hanging with the guys. The Tuesday, Oct. 8 episode of The Conners, "The Preemie Monologues," features Goodman reuniting with his Blues Brothers 2000 costar Dan Aykroyd as one of Dan's poker buddies as part of the "Cast From the Past" stunt. In the scene above, Dan's pals commiserate over the lies they tell their wives while playing poker. "By the way, Dan, if Ann Marie calls, this time I'm here," Chuck (James Pickens Jr.) tells Dan. "For some reason the lies led to fights." "That's...

Is Dan Conner ready for love? The iconic TV character played by John Goodman on Roseanne and The Conners may be moving on from his beloved Roseanne Conner (Roseanne Barr). After the Roseanne revival debuted to huge ratings and quickly imploded following Barr's racist tweet, ABC canceled the series and brought it back as The Conners. The writers killed off Barr's character and the comic and executive producer agreed to not have any financial or creative ties to the new series. The Conners debuted to steady ratings and brought in a number of A-list guest stars from Matthew Broderick and Justin Long to Mary Steenburgen and Katey Sagal. Now it looks like one of them might be coming back in a big way. According to...

ABC has ordered four additional episodes of new fall series A Million Little Things, bringing its freshman season to 17 episodes; and one more episode of new Roseanne spinoff series, The Conners, bringing its run to 11 episodes.
This is considered a full-season order for A Million Little Things as heavily serialized broadcast dramas typically produce 13-18-episode seasons. NBC’s Manifest, the highest rated and most watched new series this fall, recently received a back order of three episodes for a 16-episode freshman season, also referred to as a full-season order.
Like its predecessor, Roseanne, The Conners was intended for a short run because of its cast members’ other commitments. Roseanne had been renewed for a 13-episode second season. The Conners was originally picked up for 10 episodes in the wake of Roseanne’s abrupt cancellation.

The Conners premiered its first episode on Tuesday night, finally putting to rest any speculation about how the Roseanne spinoff deals with the absence of Roseanne Barr's titular character.
Barr's initial reboot of the show was of course axed by ABC after a string of vile, racist tweets and abrasive behavior from the 65-year-old, and she revealed during an interview a few weeks before the The Conners premiere that the show planned on killing off Roseanne Conner via opioid overdose. Now that we know that is indeed how the character dies - she overdoses on medication prescribed to her following knee surgery - Barr is speaking out about how disappointed she is with the twist in a joint statement with her Rabbi, Shmuley Boteach.

John Goodman, known for his role as Dan Conner, on Roseanne – a show that ran from 1988 to 1997, has lost a lot of weight over the past year. Goodman, who has been in the spotlight once again thanks to the reboot of Roseanne last year, is now showing off a thinner frame on the cover of People magazine. With the calendar moving ever more closely to Oct. 16, the time has come for the cast members of The Conners to finally start sharing their true feelings about the new show. Not to mention the challenges of taking what could have been the end of the road after ABC cancelled Roseanne following a racist tweet from Roseanne Barr, and somehow pushing forward without her. In an interview with People, Sara Gilbert (who plays Darlene Conner and serves as executive producer on the show), explains, "Any sadness that we feel over what we've lost, we're hopefully channeling into an honest way into the show. And our show has always been able to deal with heavy topics, particularly for a sitcom. It's been kind of built into the mix." Which has been made obvious in the first trailer for the show featuring new footage that was recently released. (Photo Credit: ABC) Laurie Metcalf...

The highly-anticipated Roseanne reboot is finally here! When the updated series premiered on ABC on Tuesday, March 27 two decades after the original show's run, many fans were surprised to see almost all of the former cast members returned for the revival. Not only did Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Sarah Chalke, Michael Fishman, and Johnny Galecki come back, but the 2018 cast also features a few new characters. So, just how many of those new and old characters are Roseanne's kids? Scroll down to meet the Conner family! Becky Conner-Healy Becky is Roseanne and Dan Conner's eldest child. She was originally played by Lecy Goranson in Seasons 1 through 5. In 1992, Lecy decided to leave Roseanne to pursue a college education at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. At the time, the young actress' school schedule permitted her to still occasionally appear on the series. During Season 5, Lecy's character,...

Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins), “Westworld”: The co-creator of the show’s titular theme park died at the hand of Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood) in the final moments of Season 1. The host shooting him in the back of the head at a party was shocking enough — but it gave fans even more of a jolt to know he planned the whole thing.
Eddard Stark (Sean Bean), “Game of Thrones”: Fans of the book saw Ned’s death coming from a mile away, but viewers tuning in for the end of the HBO fantasy series first season may not have been prepared to see him beheaded. Actually, we don’t think anyone was ready for that, books or no books.
Dan Conner (John Goodman), “Roseanne”: Ok, Dan really shouldn’t be on this list — anymore. But because his death was such a big shock when it was revealed in the original series finale, it makes the cut. Even though it was all shrugged off when the revival hit ABC earlier this year.
Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton), “The O.C.”: Marissa was a hot mess by the time her life was cut short at the end of Season 3 of this Fox teen soap. However, she was just about to go live with her dad and turn her life around. So when she died in Ryan’s (Ben McKenzie) arm’s after a car crash, we started listening to “Forever Young” in tribute and haven’t stopped since.
Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams), “Dawson’s Creek”: Someone had to die in the series finale of this WB teen drama, because it was a WB teen drama. But it didn’t have to be Jen did it?!? Yeah, moving into the future to reveal that Jen was a mother to a one-year-old and then killing her of all in one episode was just a bit too much, even for those cynical at heart like Jen herself.

The Roseanne revival undid many of the controversial plot twists of the 1997 series finale — like resurrecting family patriarch Dan Conner from the dead, for example. But what happened to Darlene Conner and David Healy's baby, aka Dan and Roseanne Conner's granddaughter? That Season 9 finale erased Darlene and David's whole relationship, but now in Season 10, that twist has also been reversed, and little Harris Conner-Healy isn't so little anymore! The Season 10 premiere wasn't the first time Harris made comeback. She was born prematurely in Season 9, and doctors didn't expect her to survive. Survive she did, however, and now she's living with her grandparents along with mom Darlene, who recently lost her job on the new reboot show. Harris, played by Shameless star Emma Kenney, is 14 years old now, even though Season 10 takes place 20 years after Season 9. But she's a precocious 14, eager to rise above her family's working-class existence. A post...
