- Dimitri was born (circa 1978) in Bellingham, Washington's Whatcom Humane Society. Employees of Steve Martin's Working Wildlife subsequently adopted him to their cinematic and television animal sanctuary in Frazier Park, California. His first appearance was in Disney's live action film Benji the Hunted (1987). Working Wildlife transferred Dimitri to Palmdale, California's Hollywood animal sanctuary "Performing Animal Troupe" afterwards.
