Actress Lisa Rinna described the conditions on the set of “Days of Our Lives” under the helm of director/EP Albert Alarr as “disgusting” after he was accused of misconduct such as groping on the Peacock soap opera.
In a post to Instagram, Rinna, who last returned to play her 1990s character Billie Reed during a one-week stint in 2018, wrote, “Well, this took a long time… I couldn’t believe the work environment. Alarr also stands accused of the retaliatory firing of one star after she complained about his handling of an intimate scene.

Exclusive: Emotions have been running high on the set of the long-running soap Days of Our Lives.
According to multiple sources, there has been shock, disbelief, disappointment and anger among cast and crew following the outcome of an internal investigation into misconduct allegations against longtime Days of Our Lives director/co-executive producer Albert Alarr.
Created by Ted and Betty Corday, Days of Our Lives is produced by the company they founded, Corday Productions, which is owned and run by their son, DoOL executive producer Ken Corday.
According to sources, the nine-week investigation, launched in March, was triggered by a complaint related to a recent round of layoffs. Filed by a female employee, it alleged that women had been disproportionally impacted by the cuts and were not receiving equal pay on the show, people close to the matter said.
The gender disparity of the recent staff reductions was particularly pronounced among cast members.

Last month NBC shocked Days fans with the news the long-time soap opera would move to Peacock as the new fall season kicked off on Monday, September 12.
The announcement came weeks after Beyond Salem Chapter Two was released on the streaming service.
Ken’s fully aware that the news has earned mixed reviews from Days of our Lives fans, and he’s hoping to help ease some nerves about the show’s future.
Like his parents Ted and Betty Corday, who created Days and navigated through many television changes, Ken has a plan to help make the transition a little smoother.

Exclusive: It’s an end of an era for Days of Our Lives. Kristian Alfonso, one of the daytime drama’s most recognizable and longest-tenured stars, is leaving the NBC series, which she first joined in 1983.
“I feel blessed and honored to have been invited into people’s homes for over three decades. However, it is now time for me to write my next chapter,” Alfonso said in a statement to Deadline.
As we reported on Friday, Days Of Our Lives plans to return to production on September 1.
“I will not be returning to Days when it resumes production in September,” Alfonso said. “I’ve already filmed my last episode several months ago.”
Like all other Hollywood productions, Days of Our Lives suspended shooting in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. But the soap had traditionally been ahead of schedule and has enough originals in the can to take it through early October.

“Days of Our Lives” premiered on November 8, 1965 on NBC. Created by Ted Corday and Betty Corday, the daytime drama follows the lives, loves, careers and crises of the citizens of Salem. And though it was part of an NBC family of soaps over the years that included “Another World,” “The Doctors,” “Generations,” “Santa Barbara” and “Sunset Beach,” it has been all alone on the NBC lineup ever since “Passions” was cancelled by the network in 2007.

The entire cast of NBC’s daytime drama Days of Our Lives are been released from their contracts, Deadline has confirmed.
As first reported by TVLine, the soap will go an indefinite hiatus at the end of the month. The cost-cutting move comes during the usual renewal window between NBC and Days distributor Sony Pictures TV; a renewal for Days typically comes at the start of the year. According to sources, negotiations for another season of the show on NBC are currently underway.
The decision to release the cast came from Corday Productions, the production entity on the series created by Ted Corday and Betty Corday. With daytime drama ratings continue to slide, and the current season (through end of summer) of Days already in the can, the company is limiting its exposure in case the series is not renewed for another season while also employing a possible negotiating tactic with the cast.

In August 1973 Daytime TV magazine continued their series "The Complete Story of..." with Days Of Our Lives.
The 12-page feature told the story of Days up until that point and included information about the original cast, photos from the beginning and behind the scenes details. It also talked about the origins of the show and how it became a success. ("We make every effort to do a first-rate show, one whose standards match that of nighttime programming. One of the main factors to which we can attribute its longevity is the level of writing maintained by William Bell, our head writer since 1966.")
Other details include an explanation of "How It's Written," Days romances, and a look at the show's "woman producer" Betty Corday.

X Kristian Alfonso has played the pivotal role of Hope Williams Brady on "Days of our Lives" for almost two-thirds of the daytime drama's 45-year history. Surprisingly, she has only contended for one Daytime Emmy with a 1985 bid for "Best Ingénue the precursor to the Younger Actress category. She admits to being surprised at that recognition as she had only recently joined the show. While the Daytime Emmys may have been chilly to her, she continues to select her sample episode every year. As she told Gold Derby, "I look for a tape in which I am not just emotional all the time." Alfonso admits to being too critical of her own performance, so she seeks out the opinions of others. Among those whose counsel she values is "Dool" executive producer Ken Corday, "the captain of our ship." He is the son of Ted and Betty Corday, the husband and wife who created the series.

It’s not easy being Ken Corday. On one hand you have the pride and burden of carrying a family legacy for over two decades. On the other, you are constantly living in fear of a cancellation ax being wielded upon said legacy, as well as the knowledge that you sacrificed your own artistic hopes and dreams in order to make your parents’ creation thrive.
These are just some of the challenges shared in the new book “The Days Of Our Lives: The True Story Of One Family’s Dream And The Untold History of Days Of Our Lives”. This is an illuminating and powerful must-read for anyone who has ever watched Days, or for that matter, anyone who has ever put a family business in front of their own aspirations. Say what you will about Ken Corday (as dozens of critics have). But after reading this book one cannot deny the integrity,...
