As a sophomore at Kalamazoo College, he once tackled his hero Sam Raimi
after Raimi guest-spoke to the film students. Was invited to work on
"The Quick and the Dead" but turned it down because he was too studious
to drop out of college.
Named his production company UFO Technologies because that was the name
on the door of his Brooklyn loft when he moved in. The previous tenants
made the inside of pens and their company was called "Interflow
Technologies." His loftmate changed the letters around and spelled out
UFO and the name stuck.
Morris credits his strong work ethic to his martial arts training. He
is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
His influences include his father Ronald, Larry Jaquith
(former film professor), David Curl (photographer and former
professor), and David Hardy (martial arts instructor).
