Previously on The Vampire Diaries, Stefan was branded with the mark of the sword forcing him to a life on the run. He made his way to New Orleans enlisting help from Klaus to stop Rayna from hunting him. A witch was able to give Stefan a paste to keep on his scar that would block magic. It was also revealed that Enzo has been working for The Armory, a type of museum that houses all things supernatural. Alex St. John, a co-worker and family member of Enzo, wants to keep Rayna for research instead of killing her. Caroline moved to Dallas to help Alaric with the twins. And Bonnie was nearly killed trying to save Damon from a wolfed-out Tyler.

Ivan Reitman’s directorial debut Cannibal Girls gets a release on DVD from Jake West’s Nucleus Films label. This low budget Canadian offering was made way back in 1973 and is notable for starring a very young Eugene Levy.
Made with little money and plenty of perseverance the structure and confidence of Reitman’s direction alongside Dan Goldberg’s editing manages some effective moments. It also features a nice riff on urban legends and has a fairytale-like quality. Filming during the winter certainly helps the ambience. All this is quite amazing as in the twenty-five minute interview contained in the DVD extras the pair openly acknowledged they made it up as they went along. The initial shoot lasted only nine days!
