Crackle’s SuperMansion Summer Vacation Special aired two weeks ago to laughs as Titanium Rex and the team headed to Hawaii and run into a vacationing former President Barack Obama. The episode also centered around Black Saturn and Lex teaching Cooch how to swim, and American Ranger attempting to perform in a Uso show while an evil threat brews under the sea. Additional new episodes of season three will return this fall, featuring Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress Minnie Driver joining the cast in a recurring role as Debbie Devizo. Adding to the Vacation Special fun was the score by composer Kurt

Song placement plays a very important role in a film – a song can make you feel happy, sad, nostalgic or make you laugh. Scores can certainly do the same thing, but sometimes a well-placed song works better than any composed piece could. However this tact rarely applies to horror films, especially when leading up to a climatic moment or a jump scare. You can usually sense when these moments are coming – the score becomes ominous, (or even drops out completely) causing your heart beat to quicken as you sense something terrifying is about to be revealed. These moments are almost always driven by score and rarely (if ever) feature a lyric-filled song. And this choice makes sense since lyrics would probably distract from the suspense of the moment instead of drawing it out and, in turn, drawing you into the horror. For horror films, songs with vocals are usually left for party scenes or if a character...

Business is moving forward for Killer Holiday with the addition of a new well traveled horror musical score writer. Kurt Oldman will join the project and will set the ambiance with his musical talents.
Directed by Marty Thomas, Killer Holiday promises to introduce viewers to a new face of fear in Melvin "Spider" Holiday (Michael Copon), a predator who stalks the roads and leads his victims into a creepy abandon amusement park. (Personally I've never come across an abandon amusement park in my travels. But if I ever happen upon one, you can bet your sweet ass the last thing I'm going to do is go poking around in there.)
In addition to Copon, Killer Holiday stars Rachel Lara, Alex Mandel (Do you think he can blow up a rubber glove and slide it on his head like his old man? Those were the days!) and Rachel Wixom.

Director Rob Masciantonio who brought us the epic gorefest that was Neighbor has given us a heads up on what's next for him. He's announced his next project will be a short film called Fairyland and has plans to submit it to Sundance this summer.
Fairlyland deals with taking characters from myths and fables and puts them in a world where Soprano-types are real. There's a Facebook page set up for the short now so head over and check it out.
Personally I've read the script and it looks like a lot of twisty fun, especially at the end of course! There will be several Neighbor alumnus joining Masciantonio on this project including Pete Postiglione, Stink Fisherand Brea Bee with Josh Bender producing and you might even get to see a "certain geek" appear in it somewhere, who knows.

A decade after his well-received venture into the vampire genre, Cold Hearts, writer/director Robert A. Masciantonio is back with a decidedly more hardcore horror outing, Neighbor. The filmmaker sent along some exclusive and nasty photos (see ’em below) and info on the film, which will have its premiere at this summer’s Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal.
“Neighbor was shot in only 18 days in January and February of this year in cold Philadelphia and its suburbs,” Masciantonio tells Fango. “We had so much fun making this film, and having it debut at Fantasia is an absolute thrill. It’s going to be amazing seeing the finished product with the core audience! I hope they love our Girl as much as I do.”
Said antiheroine is played by America Olivo, who’s amassing quite a horror résumé with the Friday The 13th redux, Blood Wars and the upcoming Bitch Slap and The Last Resort.

28Dla supporter and talent agent Sandra L. Rostirolla drops me a line on "Callous," an independent from director Joey Lanai. Premiering at the Riverside Rilm Festival, in California, the film tells the tale of a Native American dealing with family abuse this Friday April 24. Also, highlighting the musical score of another supporter to 28Dla Kurt Oldman the films musical soundtrack is rich in acoustical guitars and haunting instrumentals. Some of Oldman's work along with additional information on "Callous," can be found at the films website past the break.
A synopsis for "Callous," from the Riverside Film Festival...
Callous is an unpredictable and violent ride on the shoulders of Garrett Blackfoot. This once-abused fragile boy is now a single father haunted by the demons of his childhood. In denial of his Native American lineage, he is brought face to face with the reality that there is a spiritual plane and the...

Composer and writer of the soundtrack to the phenomenally successful "Babysitter Wanted," Kurt Oldman, originally from Switzerland, has gone on to score for several other films including 2007s horror production "Chill." Currently finishing work on "Killer Nature," starring Ron Perlman Kurt Oldman has provided me, through talent manager Sandra L. Rostirolla, a copy of the soundtrack for review. Initially, staying in haunting tones the musical composition changes in composition, often, with the use of woodwind and percussion instruments unsettling this listener on multiple levels.
Swiss Composer Kurt Oldman is the musical core behind the film "Babysitter Wanted." The orchestrating for the film is impeccable. The ability of Oldman to replicate the feel and tone of this horrifying feature into an aural experience is done with the excellent use of violins and trombones. Over thirty-one tracks are included with the disc and the play time of seventy-four minutes goes by very quickly.

I always have to commend a web series that tackles high concept drama with a nonexistent budget. High-concept isn’t easy, it’s one of those things where you really feel every penny you don’t have. This is where Dirty Bomb Diaries really shines. Made on a claimed $600 budget for a sixteen episode season, this high concept series certainly does the best it can with practically nothing. Dirty Bomb Diaries is the fictional story of a young woman, played by Misty Van Cleve (The Young and the Restless), trapped in a city where a radioactive dirty bomb has exploded nearby. The woman, a typical girl next door type, is forced to survive on her own as she has a limited amount of supplies. The series was created and written by La-based Sean Hinchey, directed and edited by Eric Tozzi, and features a strong score by Kurt Oldman.
