Born in 1952 in Princeton, New Jersey, Smith found success as a model, appearing on the cover of Vogue, Glamour, Mademoiselle, and Harper’s Bazaar, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As we near the conclusion of the first phase of the “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” competition, there’s one question on our mind: What do the superfans have against singers? Out of the 40 acts to perform in the first round so far, a quarter of them can be considered vocal talents, but only chorale group Detroit Youth Choir has advanced, and that was thanks to a Golden Buzzer from Terry Crews. The nine other singers failed to earn enough votes from the superfans and were eliminated, but why?
Among the singing acts eliminated so far are former Golden Buzzer acts Cristina Rae and Sara James as well as champions of “Canada’s Got Talent” and “Dominica’s Got Talent” Jeanick Fournier and Keren Montero. Both Jeanick and Keren placed within the top three with the superfans on their respective episodes, as did Caly Bevier and Ndlovu Youth Choir. None of...

They join Light Balance Kids and Bello Sisters who both advanced on the January 2 premiere. It’s the moment many “America’s Got Talent” acts have been waiting for: the roast of Simon Cowell.
On Wednesday night’s finale, Mike E. Winfield hosted the special performance, bringing out Don McMillan, Mr. Pants, Lace Larrabee and the roast master himself, Jeff Ross, to all take a swipe at Cowell.
McMillan was criticized by Cowell during his audition for using a PowerPoint presentation. So, in an act of defiance, McMillan once more did a PowerPoint presentation — much to Cowell’s dismay — of the media mogul’s likes and dislikes.
Number 1 on the dislikes was, unsurprisingly, PowerPoints; others included shaving, clowns and parmesan cheese.
He also poked fun at Cowell’s recent bike accidents, adding: “Too soon?”

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for America’s Got Talent Season 17 Episode 17, “Semi Finals 1 Results.”] Two more acts have been chosen to join Avery Dixon, Chapel Hart, Drake Milligan, Nicolas Ribs, Sara James, and Yu Hojin in the America’s Got Talent Season 17 finale following the August 31 live results show on NBC, but it might not be who fans expected. A shocking elimination was delivered last night in an episode that proved the competition is getting fierce. Acapop!, Bayley Graham, Harper, Jack Williams, Jannick Hoste, The Lazy Generation, Lee Collinson, Lily Meola, Merissa Beddows, Metaphysic, and Mike E. Winfield took to the AGT stage on Tuesday, August 30 for their last chance to impress the live crowd and voters at home. Winfield especially impressed judge Howie Mandel with his standup set. At the end, Mandel told the comedian that should he be eliminated the following night, he can open for Mandel’s upcoming show on September 9. But Mandel had a ...

Last week, Gold Derby conducted a poll asking “America’s Got Talent” viewers to let us know what they thought of the new format change, in which more contestants than ever are being eliminated each week. The fans did not hold back. A whopping 60 voted in our poll results that they disliked the new rule because “we are losing way too many talented acts.” To compare, 35 approved of the change because “it forces each act to bring their A-game.” The remaining 5 were non-committal and had to “think about it more.”
In the past, “America’s Got Talent” would produce three separate live show rounds: Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Grand Finale. Now, there are only two rounds: Qualifiers and Grand Finale. Because the middle round has been removed, that means there are massive cuts in each of the five Qualifiers. Of the 11 acts who perform each week, only two go on to the finale,...

Elton John and Britney Spears just dropped their new duet “Hold Me Closer”.
The track combines John’s hits “Tiny Dancer”, “The One” and part of “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”.
“She sang fantastically,” John recently gushed of working with Spears in a new interview with The Guardian. “Everyone was saying they don’t think she can sing any more. But I said, she was brilliant when she started so I think she can. And she did it, and I was so thrilled with what she did.”

The Qualifiers 3 episode of “America’s Got Talent” aired Tuesday, August 23 on NBC with 11 acts performing live on the big stage. Sara called that “the best moment” of her life and reflected on how Billie Eilish shared the video and all of Poland “was talking about it.” For her live show performance, the talented teen put her own twist on Elton John‘s “Rocketman.” Watch the “AGT” video above.

Who’s performing tonight on “America’s Got Talent“? The Season 17 live shows continue August 23 on NBC with the Qualifiers 3 group. This lineup notably includes Simon Cowell‘s Golden Buzzer singer Sara James, a 14-year-old from Słubice, Poland. Remember, this year the live shows have gotten a major facelift. Gone are the days of Quarter-Finals followed by Semi-Finals. Instead, there will only be five Qualifiers rounds, with two out of 11 acts advancing from each group — yes, that means nine acts will go home each week.
In addition to Sara, viewers will see the return of five other singing acts this year: solo singer Amanda Mammana, singing ventriloquist Celia Munoz, uncle-niece duo Jojo and Bri, one-woman band Mia Morris and JoJo Siwa‘s girl group Xomg Pop.

NBC has confirmed to Gold Derby that the “America’s Got Talent” 2022 live shows will begin Tuesday, August 9, with the first results show taking place Wednesday, August 10. Unlike years past when the live shows were held at the Dolby Theatre, the Season 17 contests will take place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, which is where all of the auditions are filmed.
The four “AGT” judges and the host (Terry Crews) have already sent six acts straight through to the live shows when they pressed their Golden Buzzers during the auditions. The 17th season of “America’s Got Talent” is in full swing, with five audition episodes having aired since May 31. Instead of moving right on to the sixth set of hopefuls, the AGT team paused on July 5 to give viewers a look back at some of the best tryouts from the last six years. During the first ever Golden Buzzer special, entitled “Simon’s Favorite Golden Buzzers,” judge Simon Cowell sat down with host Terry Crews to present a two-hour countdown of his personal picks for the 15 greatest moments involving the coveted honor.
The Golden Buzzer was first incorporated into AGT’s ninth season, which aired in 2014. The show’s current format allows it to be used only five times per season (once by the host and once each by the four judges) to lock in quarterfinal placements for particularly outstanding auditioners. 12 of the 59 acts who have earned the honor have...

Night 5 of auditions on “America’s Got Talent” season 17 continued on June 28 with another slate of audition performances from acts vying for this year’s 1 million prize. Host Terry Crews was back in the theater with series judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel after offering up his Golden Buzzer to saxophonist Avery Dixon on Night 1. Howie and Simon sent two more acts straight through to the lives when they gave singers Maddie and Sara James their Golden Buzzers on Night 2 and Night 3, respectively. Last week, Sofia was hypnotized by the all female Lebanese dance group Mayyas. The last Golden Buzzer came from Heidi, who was moved by the feeling of “a light around” singer songwriter Lily Meola.
