Paradigm has hired Kyle Jensen as a Literary Content Agent and Jamie Kaye-Phillips as a Theatre Literary Content Agent, upping Matthew Nutty from Coordinator to Agent in the Talent department.
Additionally, Napoli Management Group, a division of Paradigm Media Entertainment, has tapped Brian Neal as an agent. A 23-year veteran of the television news industry, he’ll in his new role rep all levels of on-air talent in the national broadcast news space.
Jensen and Nutty will be based out of the agency’s Los Angeles office, with Kaye-Phillips working out of New York. Where Neal will be based is not yet clear.
The hirings follow December’s announcement that Todd Eisner, a 30-year veteran talent agent, had joined Paradigm from the now-folded A3. Over the past year, Paradigm has been staffing up with the hires of Chris Till and Neil A. Cohen, as well as internal promotions, having elevated 14 agents to Partner.

Supermarkets are miraculous places, though usually, we only see what we need to buy. Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise” wants its audience to see both the quotidian, smarmy consumerist side of them and the wondrous cornucopia of abundance and possibility underneath. The A&p in the fictional college town Blacksmith is a hub for the professors of the College On The Hill, including Jack Gladney (Adam Driver), his wife (Greta Gerwig) and their family, and the film honors it with the kind of aggressive whites, soft lighting, and riots of colors that wouldn’t be out of place in a medieval cathedral.
The A&p is a heightened space, both sacred and profane, and it’s inside the supermarket where Baumbach can embrace the themes of the Don DeLillo novel and take them even further. It’s hard for prose to capture 150 people all dancing in unison to an LCD Soundsystem song.

“White Noise” holds a mirror up to American culture, especially cinema history. It’s the purely controlled, heightened chaos onscreen that reminds us why “family is the cradle of misinformation,” much like how the blur of media, art, and celebrity similarly splinter into everyday existential crises.
Based on Don DeLillo’s 1985 novel of the same name, “White Noise” was meticulously written and directed by Noah Baumbach and stars Adam Driver as Professor Jack Gladney, tasked with protecting his family, played by Greta Gerwig, Raffey Cassidy, Sam Nivola, and May Nivola, after an airborne toxic event forces them to evacuate a picturesque college town. “White Noise” premieres in theaters November 25 and streams on Netflix December 30.
Ultimately, “White Noise” is a dissection of the distractions of daily life and the inherent craving to “flatten” our emotions on the inevitable march toward death. But the Hitchcock-meets-Spielberg-meets-Altman sentimentality, with a dash of Wes Anderson,...

Columbus, Ohio — With less than eight hours to go before voters in 10 states hit the polls, as of late Monday night, there was not that much Super Tuesday.
I am in Ohio for a primary that the young people I've run into so far apparently don't care that much about. We won't know until later today if the four remaining Republican candidates— Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul -- will be able to rouse the 18-29 voting bloc, but recent results aren't that promising. In last week's Arizona Primary, 6 percent of eligible voters under 30 turned out to vote, and in Michigan, it was hardly better at 7 percent. Not too hot.
But those are just stats.
