Chris Omar is an independent filmmaker and founder of COVisuals. A native and current resident of Orange County, NY, Chris is a graduate of Brooklyn College ('20) with a B.A. in Film Production.
His first documentary "You Found A Home" exposed the mismanagement of the Residence Hall @ Brooklyn College that led to a young woman being sexually assaulted by an employee. The film went on to win Outstanding Achievement in Documentary at the 37th Annual Brooklyn College Film Festival and screened as an Official Selection at DOCNYC in 2019.
His narrative writing/directorial debut "808s & Roommates" won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Screenwriting and the Audience Choice Award at the 38th Annual Brooklyn College Film Festival in 2020.
As a production assistant at Blowback Productions, he was credited in LeBron James' documentary "I Promise" as well as the HBO Original Documentaries "Stockton on My Mind," "The Slow Hustle," and "Adrienne." Chris has also worked as a Production Assistant on HBO's "White House Plumbers."
He is working full-time in film and live event production while developing a multitude of projects ranging from music videos to documentaries with the intent of telling stories of communal resilience, individual growth, and how we collectively can prevail.
