Casting turnover is the name of the game when it comes to the Law & Order franchise. Through 23 seasons of the flagship series (and not even to mention the many spinoffs), Law & Order has cycled through dozens of casting combinations in filling out both the “law” and “order” halves of its ensemble.
When Law & Order returned for season 21 in 2022 after a lengthy hiatus, it looked like it had a solid detective duo in place with Anthony Anderson’s Kevin Bernard and Jeffrey Donovan’s Frank Cosgrove. Now, just two years later both actors are gone. Anderson departed after season 21 and Donovan after season 22.
Law & Order season 23 pairs Mehcad Brooks’ Jalen Shaw (who replaced Anderson) with newbie Vincent Riley, played by recognizable face Reid Scott. If you’re wondering who Reid Scott is and what makes him a good fit for this crime drama, don’t worry – we’ve got the answers.

Exclusive: Here’s an intriguing development in the burgeoning sports docs and entertainment space: UK-based soccer content specialist Copa90 has formed a studio production business with Race to the Center of the Earth creator Dan Lewis and set a strategic partnership with U.S. filmmaker Evan Rosenfeld to build a slate of premium docs.
Copa90 Studios has been created to capitalize on the fan-focused company’s influence in the online sports content space over the past decade and will focus on developing and producing “high-end sports-related entertainment.” Its formation comes at a time of growth: this year Copa90 was named Media Company of the Year at the British Media Awards.
Overseeing Copa90 Studios will be former Plum Pictures Head of Development Lewis, who left the British unscripted indie to take his new role last month. He’s best known for spending 12 years at Plum, where he created the format on...

Why did the Doctor travel half the universe to, as she told Yaz, “see a man about a dog”? Firstly, because the Doctor is more evasive than a mid-scandal cabinet member at a press briefing and refuses to confide in the people who regularly risk their lives by her side, and secondly, because the Doctor enjoys making dog-related jokes at the expense of new alien Karvanista. (See also: “I’ve got a bone to pick with you.”)
Not a dog
Karvanista may look like a dog, sniff things inquisitively like a dog and have decorated his ship with a canine tooth motif (sharp pointy hooks everywhere. Health and safety must not be big with his kind), but he is not a dog. He’s clever, dangerous and a Lupa of the alien race Lupari – a name that, come to think...

The Doctor is out. Jodie Whittaker and “Doctor Who” showrunner Chris Chibnall will exit the series in the fall of 2022, BBC confirmed on Thursday.
Whittaker and Chibnall’s farewell will come in a trio of specials that will air as part of the BBC’s Centenary celebrations, and on BBC America in the U.S. The BBC had already previously announced a six-part Season 13 coming in the fall and two specials planned for 2022, but BBC One has now ordered an additional third feature-length adventure to conclude Whittaker and Chibnall’s “Doctor Who” run next year.
Whittaker is the Thirteenth Doctor and the first woman to hold the role, having entered “Doctor Who” when Chibnall took over the show in 2017.
Chibnall was also responsible for bringing in “Doctor Who” cast members Tosin Cole (Ryan), Mandip Gill (Yaz) and Bradley Walsh (Graham), plus Sacha Dhawan as the latest incarnation of The Master...

The trailer for the long-awaited “Venom” sequel is finally here — and so is the new villain Carnage.
Viewers get a sneak peek at the red symbiote character from the comics, who was briefly introduced at the end of the first “Venom” film, released in 2018.
In the trailer, Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), a crazed serial killer, survives a lethal injection in prison, which appears to awaken the symbiote inside of him and transforms him into Carnage. He and Tom Hardy, whose character Eddie Brock has made some peace with his alter-ego Venom, battle it out in a massive symbiote showdown.
“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is set to release on Sept. 24, 2021. Originally scheduled for October 2020, the film has been delayed several times due to the Covid-19 pandemic, most recently getting pushed back one week from Sept. 17 to Sept. 24.
Andy Serkis takes over directing duties for the sequel from Ruben Fleischer, who...
