Is “Grey’s Anatomy” on tonight? No. ABC’s long-running medical drama is taking off a couple of weeks, and it will air its 426th episode, titled “The Marathon Continues,” on Thursday, May 2. Here is the official synopsis: “Mika and Teddy receive a patient from a nearby penitentiary; Catherine pushes back on Link and Monica’s treatment plan for a VIP; Bailey tries to integrate wellness into the residency program.” Watch the promo video above for Season 20 Episode 6, and read on for everything to know about “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Note that the new season was delayed until mid-season due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes of 2023. Because of the late start, the 20th season will be the shortest since the first season with only 10 episodes total. Behind the scenes, Meg Marinis has taken over as showrunner from Krista Vernoff, who departed after Season 19.

Season 20 of Grey’s Anatomy, TV’s longest-running primetime medical drama, is quickly approaching. If past premiere episodes are anything to go by, season 20’s first installment “We’ve Only Just Begun” is going to feature an abundance of drama to set up the rest of the season.
The series first premiered back in 2005 and follows the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial, who are constantly faced with life-or death decisions. Over the years, we’ve seen fan favorite characters come and go, new ones join the ensemble, and many devastating character deaths. So picking the 10 most dramatic season premieres was not only a difficult task, but a real emotional rollercoaster.

Season 3 Episode 1
Denny’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) death leaves Izzie ( Katherine Heigl) all “dark and twisty” and her friends at a loss of what to do to help her.

It took a surgeon’s scalpel to excise the must-see episodes out of the 420 that Grey’s Anatomy has aired. But you don’t have to stop with these: Hulu now carries the run of the medical drama, plus new episodes starting March 15, the day after they air on ABC. 1. “A Hard Day’s Night” (Season 1 Episode 1) The first shift at Seattle Grace for surgical interns Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), George O’Malley (T.R. Knight), Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) sets the tone for the instantly addictive series. The hour is marked by competition, anxiety, lust and bad decisions—like Meredith unwittingly bedding her new boss, skilled neurosurgeon Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey). 2. “As We Know It” (Season 2 Episode 17) Everett Collection This iconic conclusion of a nail-biting two-parter finds Meredith with her hand inside a patient’s chest cavity, trying to stem his bleeding and keep an embedded explosive from detonating.

Duchovny is James, who is raising Adam (Oakes Fegley). When the boy is old enough to understand, James tells him he’s not his biological father. The Flight Attendant will not be returning for a third season. The show, which was originally set as a limited series, aired two seasons on Max, with the second season ending in May 2022.
The move follows comments from star and executive producer Kaley Cuoco after the second season that the “plane had landed.” “I just kind of feel like we just ended,” she told People at the time.
The first season, which premiered in November 2020, followed Cuoco’s alcoholic, globe-trotting flight attendant Cassie Bowden who became embroiled in an espionage plot following her affair with a first class passenger, who winds up murdered after their night together.
The second season saw Bowden return with a fresh start in Los Angeles, sober and moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue.

After almost two decades of healing wounds, both physical and romantic, the staff of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is still going strong.

The audience unleashed raucous applause as soon as moderator (and original castmember) T.R. Knight appeared, and they only grew louder as series stalwarts such as Wilson and Pickens took to the stage.

Isaiah Washington says that he’ll be taking an “early retirement” from acting, complaining that “the haters, provocateurs and the Useful Idiots have won.”
Washington remains best known for portraying Dr. Preston Burke in the early seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” until being infamously fired in 2007 amidst a cloud of controversy due to an alleged on-set altercation with Patrick Dempsey over his use of a homophobic slur to refer to co-star T.R. Knight.

Grey’s Anatomy actor Isaiah Washington has announced his “early retirement” from acting due to “the haters”.
The ator, who played Dr Preston Burke in the medical drama’s first three seasons, revealed the news in a statement shared on his Twitter page.
Washington was fired from the show in June 2007 after using a gay slur against co-star Tr Knight.
In a statement at the time, he said: “I can neither defend nor explain my behaviour. I can also no longer deny to myself that there are issues I obviously need to examine within my own soul, and I’ve asked for help.”
The actor has been vocal about his dismissal from the series, expressing surprise at his firing as he “did everything that the producers and the network asked me to do”.

Spoiler Alert: This essay contains spoilers from “I’ll Follow the Sun,” the Feb. 23 episode of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
From her first episode as Dr. Meredith Grey on March 27, 2005 — when “Grey’s Anatomy” premiered on ABC and became a once-in-a-generation pop-culture sensation — to what’s being billed as a goodbye episode on Feb. 23, 2023, Ellen Pompeo could forge chemistry with anyone. Along with its lexicon-changing writing and intricate yet rowdy plotting by Shonda Rhimes, what’s made “Grey’s Anatomy” a phenomenon was watching Meredith just live her life. She was a character network television never seen before: a brilliant woman whose life had been marred by tragedy, yet who wasn’t going to let her dark and twisty past get in her way. Meredith had a lot of fun; she saved a lot of lives; she had a lot of sex.
And it was her relationships that made “Grey’s Anatomy” stand out at first.

Since 2005, Ellen Pompeo has led the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” — and bled more than her fair share as poor, traumatized Meredith Grey, who seems to have lost everyone and everything she’s loved over 19 seasons; not to mention dying … or nearly dying on more occasions that we can count.
When she wasn’t sobbing over the death of her mother, father, half-sister, stepmother and best friends like George (T.R. Knight), she was busy overcoming the aftermaths of a plane crash, a bombing, a shooting, drowning and a Covid coma … and we’re just getting warmed up.
In honor of her farewell episode as a series regular airing Thursday at 8 p.m. on ABC, we ranked the most traumatic incidents of her tragedy-strewn life.

Since Grey’s Anatomy first premiered in 2005, it has aired 19 seasons, 406 episodes, and birthed 3 spinoffs. Naturally the show has had to adapt as cast members come and go throughout the years. This sometimes makes it hard to recall what exactly went on in season 1. Although who can forget Addison Montgomery (then Shepherd) saying the iconic line, “I’m Addison Shepherd … and you must be the woman who’s been screwing my husband.”
With every new intern class that Grey’s introduces viewers to, it always throws in a few Easter eggs to remind fans what made them fall in love with the show in the first place. In March 2005, ABC premiered a medical procedural as a midseason replacement for “Boston Legal.” It featured no huge names and wasn’t helmed by an auteur writer: “Grey’s Anatomy” came out of nowhere to become a primetime phenomenon. The series about a group of surgical interns learning their craft, falling in and out of love, and working at a hospital that is a hotbed for large-scale crises has been on the air for 19 seasons and is the longest-running drama series ABC has ever aired.
“Grey’s Anatomy” was applauded for its “blind-casting” which generated an organically diverse cast. Yes, Grey’s Anatomy is still running. And no, you haven’t missed anything. In fact, ABC’s once fan-favourite Emmy-adorned medical series – which premiered its 19th season last month – has only continued its steady decline since Sandra Oh’s heartbreaking exit signified its expiration nine seasons ago.
When Shonda Rhimes’s serial drama began in 2005 with its core cast of Seattle-based surgical interns, including determined Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), caustic Cristina Yang (Oh), irritating Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), innocent George O’Malley (Tr Knight) and underdog Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl), it shattered viewing records. With its harmonious balance between fascinating medical mysteries and the consistently chaotic personal lives of the doctors, Grey’s Anatomy was simply brilliant.
I was 13 when I first binged its initial six seasons. Immediately, I was in love. Between its impressive character development and captivating surgical cases, the show even had me considering a career in medicine. Thereafter,...

When Grey’s Anatomy debuted in 2005, the world had no idea what it was in for. The dramatic show began on a high note and has continued for a shocking 19 seasons (so far). It is proving yet again that medical dramas are long-lasting because the world loves to see them. When the show first aired, there was a core group of characters everyone fell for. This includes George O’Malley, a young surgical intern who bumbled everything he touched. Actor T.R. Knight plays the character. He seemed like the most obvious choice for not making it through med

When the 19th season of “Grey’s Anatomy” premieres on ABC on Oct. 6, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will be front and center in the episode, as she’s been since the series made its debut on March 27, 2005. Meredith is now the chief of surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, and she’s been charged with rebuilding its surgical intern program after it was dismantled last season following a patient’s death. Five of those interns will be new characters this season.
Yet as Variety reported over the summer, Pompeo (and Meredith) will soon be taking a step back, and will appear in only eight of this season’s episodes — though all the episodes will still have Meredith’s voiceover at the beginning and end. Grey's Anatomy will outlive us all.
We came to terms with that several years ago when the show remained a hit in the ratings, scoring renewal after renewal.
Now, the show faces its biggest hurdle to date with leading lady Ellen Pompeo scaling back her role as Meredith Grey.
As previously reported, Pompeo will appear in 8 episodes of Grey's Anatomy Season 19.
“Definitely [Pompeo’s] character is such a dominant, iconic character on the show,” McKidd told People.
“It’s definitely going to make some room for different stories to be told. So I think everyone is excited about that.”
The star went on to reveal that, although there would be some changes, he doesn't see it as a reboot.
“We’re not really rebooting, but it’s definitely that pilot episode when Sandra Oh and T.R. Knight first kind of walked into the hospital," he said.
"We’re kind of doing that again.

The upcoming 19th season of Grey’s Anatomy is set to introduce a new crop of medical interns to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, and with that comes a return to the show’s roots. Kevin McKidd, who plays Dr. Owen Hunt in the long-running ABC medical drama, spoke about the new characters as he walked the red carpet at the Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards in Beverly Hills on Saturday, August 13. The Scottish actor teased that the upcoming additions make the show feel like it’s starting from scratch. “We have this amazing group of new interns, brilliant, young, vibrant actors who are really passionate,” he told People. “So it’s making room for that. It’s almost like we’re going back to the beginning, if that makes sense.” He continued, “We’re not really rebooting, but it’s definitely that pilot episode when Sandra Oh and T.R. Knight first...

Through 18 seasons of Grey's Anatomy, there have been plenty of changes.
Some of the biggest changes come from the cast, as any show that has been on as long as Grey's has surely seen plenty of cast exits.
Luckily, the cast that departed early in the series (or even more recently) can still be seen in other projects. So where are they now?
Isaiah Washington -- Dr. Preston Burke
Isaiah Washington portrayed Dr. Preston Burke for the first three seasons of Grey's Anatomy.
Washington also returned as a guest on Grey's Anatomy Season 10 after Cristina left Grey Sloan.
Since leaving Seattle Grace, the actor has remained steady in both TV and film, having been in the main cast of The 100 through The 100 Season 5.
He's also appeared in shows such as Blue Bloods, Bull, Law & Order: LA, and was recurring during Survivor's Remorse Season 4.

“The Flight Attendant” recently wrapped up its Season 2 run on HBO Max, so today, TheWrap can exclusively share a look at how the show is made, including all those moments that required a “Take 2” — Aka the blooper reel.
In the featurette, which you can watch above, there’s no shortage of chaos and comedy.
The three-minute behind-the-scenes clip is chock-full of acting goofs, f-bombs and middle fingers as stars Kaley Cuoco, Zosia Mamet, Griffin Matthews, Rosie Perez, T.R. Knight and Deniz Akdeniz fail to nail lines and succeed in making their scene partners laugh out of turn.
“I got one more before I just pee right here,” Cuoco jokes in the video prior to filming one scene. “So, I’m telling you that’s gonna happen. I’ve warned you.”

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Flight Attendant Season 2 finale, “Backwards and Forwards.”] After a couple of near-death experiences in the Flight Attendant Season 2 finale, Cassie (Kaley Cuoco) is left in a relatively good place, at Annie (Zosia Mamet) and Max’s (Deniz Akdeniz) wedding. But first, she must figure out who Grace (Mae Martin) was working for. The answer is not entirely surprising: Dot (Cheryl Hines), the CIA regional director, who was also the one to send Cassie the viewmaster and based on her file, thought she’d fit the profile of a rogue operative. Once that’s solved (and Dot’s taken into custody), however, Cassie ends up in more danger: Jenny (Jessie Ennis), from her AA meetings, has kidnapped her brother Davey (T.R. Knight) and is targeting Cassie due to her obsession with Feliks (Colin Woodell). In facing and stopping her, Cassie accepts all the parts of herself, and the different Cassies in her ...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Flight Attendant Season 2, Episode 6 “Brothers & Sisters.”] The latest episode of The Flight Attendant features a moment many were probably waiting for all season: Sharon Stone’s introduction as Cassie’s (Kaley Cuoco) mother, Lisa. And it was definitely not a happy reunion. After visiting their father’s grave, Cassie and her brother Davey (T.R. Knight) head to clean out their mom’s house. Cassie and Lisa are both surprised to see the other; Davey set them up. Lisa can’t forget Cassie’s behavior when she was drinking — as an adult (like forgetting about her when she came to visit or nearly burning down her house), not a teenager, she says when the flight attendant and CIA asset apologizes. The first season of “The Flight Attendant” was a rollicking, fun reconfiguring of the spy genre with a stunning (and Emmy-nominated) performance from leading lady Kaley Cuoco as Cassie Bowden. What started out as the story of a drunken flight attendant waking up next to a dead body blossomed into a dark — and, at times, somewhat convoluted — exploration of guilt and addiction.
It was often easier to remember Cassie’s journey towards sobriety than the wacky plot involving government espionage and assassins. That note might have been taken to heart by HBO Max with Season 2, as the spy elements may be present and accounted for, but they feel far less critical to this season than Cassie’s personal growth.
While most addicts are urged not to make significant life changes for the first year, Cassie Bowden has jumped in to change with both feet. She’s not only gotten sober...
