[on "Happy Anniversary", 1959]: When David Niven angrily put his foot through a TV set in "Happy Anniversary". he was reflecting the desire of everyone involved in the movie industry. TV was the great enemy of the cinema in the 50s, and when the taboo subject was mentioned in pictures, it was always satirically or negatively. Mind you, Ralph Fields's production did little to convince audiences that films were much better as entertainment.
