Samuel Miorandi
- Additional Crew
Samuel is a 23-year-old, Italian-born award-nominated filmmaker and cinematographer. He bought his first film camera at 15 and worked as an intern at several London production houses from 16 while taking on the BFI Film Academy residential course. In 2017 he worked with Oscar-winning Director Asif Kapadia as an archive footage translator for Diego Maradona (2019) and created his own critically acclaimed documentary short, Stateless (2018) on the living conditions of Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
After having left City and Islington College, Samuel has rendered a collection of projects which range from commercials - some of which are in collaboration with well-known post-production houses in London with clients ranging from Lloyds Bank to Berocca, whilst maintaining the role of Creative Director for a tech networking start-up for over a year. In 2018, alongside two investors he began a freelance-based production team/company called Miorandi Studios, constructed by a team of professionals in their respective branches of the industry, primarily remotely based.
From then, numerous collaborations had arisen with directors from California to Italy, and, as a result of Stateless and the prospect of partnerships with the Choose Love organization, Samuel managed to engage with representatives of the UN to finalize multiple proposals which would lead to documentary productions alongside Governors of Middle-Eastern countries.
During his career, he has gained extensive technical knowledge of camera and lighting gear focusing on the role of Director of Photography and Director, through creating and working on campaigns and films for itsu, Prism the Gift Fund, The Tate Modern, London Fashion Week, Net2Work, Touker Suleyman and BAFTA-nominated Callum Macrae among a myriad of independent narrative short films and documentaries.
