Iconic Finnish rock band Him’s new album Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice hit store shelves yesterday, and in honor of its release Dread Central is featuring the video for “HeartKiller”, the first single off the CD.
Screamworks was produced by Matt Squire and is Him's seventh full-length record over their 13-year career. In a recent interview with Metal Hammer magazine, Him frontman Ville Valo describes his feelings about the album as follows: "I like the immediacy of it. There's a lot of information put in short songs, and they don't let go. That was the whole vibe for me. You should have seen me working the vocals out in the middle of the night, amongst my taxidermy owls in the tower screaming my guts out, unable to stop until 9:00 a.m. and then sleeping on a couch for two hours before starting again. So the whole process...

Either you’re a Cradle of Filth fan, or you’re not, but even if you don’t listen to the music of the amazing metal band fronted by Dani Filth (sort of a cross between a musician, an evil warlock, and a British person), you won’t be able to deny Dani’s filthy charm. The dark enforcer of heavy metal and all things darkness has a surprisingly funny side to go along with his incontrovertible sex appeal. In 2003 he voiced the "Dominator" in the feature-length animated film of the same name and starred in the horror film Cradle of Fear. You can hear his collaborative work with Claudio Simonetti and the band Daemonia on the soundtrack of the Argento horror film The Mother of Tears. Now Dani’s latest creation, The Gospel of Filth, is causing us to get our panties in a tizzy. This collection of essays on the occult,...

“You can’t consider yourself a hardcore kid or a metalhead without owning a Roadrunner album.” - Jamey Jasta, Hatebreed.
In 2004, Cees Wessels, founder and owner of Roadrunner Records, approached longtime A&R chief Monte Conner about creating a project and event to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the label. Roadrunner had humble beginnings, launching in 1980 under the name Roadracer, as an Amsterdam-based importer of U.S. metal albums to be repackaged for a European audience. Over the course of the two and a half decades that would follow, Roadrunner would evolve into one of the most respected outlets for metal and hard rock on a Global scale.
After launching the careers of bands such as Sepultura, Deicide, Slipknot, Mercyful Fate, Obituary, and Fear Factory, horror fans would soon feel the direct effect of the label. Long providing tracks for numerous films over the years, Roadrunner entered the Soundtrack realm...
