New Delhi, Feb 27 (Ians) As the league phase of the Indian Super League (Isl) draws to a close on Sunday, it's time to take stock of the competition so far, played in a bio-bubble in Goa.
The Isl has always prided itself as an avenue where the best Indian talent can mix it up with quality overseas players. One man who will be buoyed by the performances he has seen from Indian players throughout the tournament will be the national team head coach Igor Stimac.
Plenty of national team regulars like Pritam Kotal, Sandesh Jhingan, Sunil Chhetri have done well in the Isl this time around. However, it would be the emergence of those on the fringes that would have gladdened Stimac's heart.
The likes of Manvir Singh, Liston Colaco, Bipin Singh have all provided him a welcome selection jigsaw ahead of the national camp that is set to begin...

Nainsukh of Guler is now considered one of the most important miniature painters of 18th century India working in the Pahari school of painting. Born to a painter father and younger sibling to a painter brother, Nainsukh would leave his family workshop to go work at the court of Raja Balwant Singh of Jasrota, where he would make some of his best and most well-known works for his royal patron. Most of his surviving works are from his time at Jasrota and more often than not, feature Balwant Singh himself. It is therefore no wonder than Amit Dutta’s experimental biographical film, produced by German art historian Eberhard Fischer and the Museum Rietberg Zurich, where a number of Nainsukh paintings are housed, focuses on those years of Nainsukh’s life that he spent at Jasrota under the tutelage of its ruler.

Viceroy’s House, directed by Gurinder Chadha is releasing nationwide on 3rd March 2017 and stars Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Huma Qureshi and Manish Dayal. The film tells the true story of the final months of British rule in India and its release will coincide with the 70th Anniversary of the Independence of India and the founding of Pakistan.
British Asian director Gurinder Chadha’s first research into the events of 1947 and Partition began following her participation in BBC programme “Who Do You Think You Are”, a look back into her family history.
To coincide with the release of Viceroy’s House, Chadha has invited her uncles Kalwant and Balwant Singh Chadha to share their incredible true stories and experiences of living through the Partition, experiences which inevitably helped the process of making Viceroy’s House.
