Taylor Sheridan has become the talk of the town ever since the release of Yellowstone, a neo-Western drama series that follows the conflicts around the borders of Yellowstone Ranch. The series is currently in its final season with part one already out. The second part is all set to premiere towards the end of the year. Apart from Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan has created two prequel series for his show, 1883 and 1923. Two more spin-offs will also be released in the future.
A still from 1883 (2021 – 2022)
When it comes to 1883, Taylor Sheridan has been praised for the show’s historical accuracy, something which he hired a team of historians for. There is no doubt to the fact that the director’s attention to detail was mind-blowing. However, there is a very subtle yet noticeable inaccuracy in the prequel series that might question Taylor Sheridan’s perfectionism – the characters’ teeth.

There was plenty of heartbreak along the 10-episode journey of 1883, so that made the happy ending — at least, we hope it stays that way — for Thomas (Lamonica Garrett) and Noemi (Gratiela Brancusi) that much sweeter. As the finale ended, it jumped forward a year after Elsa’s (Isabel May) death, and a moment that made us smile was seeing Thomas and Noemi, with her kids, seemingly about to settle down into the life in Oregon they’d dreamed. It was a “very unexpected joy,” Brancusi tells TV Insider of that moment. “It’s not really something people saw coming, I don’t think.” The actress breaks down Noemi’s season and shares her hopes for her character’s future. How is Noemi feeling about her journey? It was a rough one, to say the least. Gratiela Brancusi: Because of where she’s coming from and her history and the history of her people,...

Exclusive: Gratiela Brancusi, the Romanian actress who recently found her first major role in Taylor Sheridan’s 1883, has signed with Elevate Entertainment for management in all areas.
Paramount+’s Western drama is a prequel to the hit Paramount Network series Yellowstone that follows the Dutton rancher family on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of uncolonized America. Brancusi stars alongside Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliott, Isabel May, Lamonica Garrett, Marc Rissmann, Audie Rick, Eric Nelsen, James Landry Hébert and more. She plays Noemi, a Romani widow who is forced to raise two young boys on her own following the loss of her husband, coming to depend on, and develop a romantic interest in, Garrett’s Pinkerton agent Thomas.
The relative newcomer’s role in the show, which premiered in December, wound up being a major one, with Brancusi featuring in the majority of its 10-episode first season.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details from Sunday’s Season 1 finale of Paramount+’s 1883.
Larry McMurtry was a literary inspiration for writer-director Taylor Sheridan, who took a page from the miniseries adaptation of that late author’s Lonesome Dove by scattering the harsh terrain with the bodies of its most beloved characters in the Paramount+ 101 Studios MTV Entertainment series. Sheridan’s 10-episode odyssey, about the push to Montana by the ancestors of Yellowstone‘s Dutton clan, saw the death of the show’s bright young narrator, Elsa Dutton (Isabel May), the grizzled Pinkerton agent Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott), and most of the European settlers who made the trip from Fort Worth, Texas in a ragtag wagon train caravan.
While there has been speculation of another season with this iteration of the Duttons once they arrived in Montana, a conversation that follows here with Sheridan that can only make you think,...

1883 Episode 10
Near the conclusion of this 1883 season 1 finale, the great Graham Greene’s newly-introduced character, Spotted Eagle, tells Tim McGraw’s hero of the story, James Dutton, that James looks “like a man who plans”.
There’s a reason 1883’s creator, Taylor Sheridan often writes about these steadfast characters born of an era where a man’s love of his family and his land was everything. There’s a reason why Sheridan always has the Dutton family typically one step ahead of their rivals. It’s because good writers write what they know. Good writers… write about themselves.
It is crystal clear that Sheridan has always had a plan for 1883, and it has been evident from the very first episode. Fans who will go back to the premiere now that the season is complete will pick up on hints and foreshadowing Sheridan left that are...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the 1883 Season 1 finale “This Is Not Your Heaven.”] Elsa Dutton (Isabel May) can’t die, right? They have to find some way to save her. Unfortunately, that’s not the case in the 1883 finale. The arrow to her liver does end up being her death, in the arms of her father James (Tim McGraw), in the spot she chooses. And one year after that, we see Josef (Marc Rissmann) alive after losing his leg due to the snake bite, Thomas (Lamonica Garrett) and Noemi (Gratiela Brancusi) following through with their dreams to settle in a field with her kids, and Shea (Sam Elliott) enjoying the sunrise on the beach before hearing the gunshot. Garrett looks back on Thomas’ journey, discusses filming what he called the hardest scene of the season, and more. I was happy to see Thomas and Noemi getting ...

The Dutton family's journey is continuing. Paramount+ has ordered additional episodes of the 1883 drama which launched on December 19th. The streaming service didn't call the order a second season or a renewal but, as THR notes, "adding another batch of episodes to an existing season is sometimes a contractual sleight of hand used in order to continue a series without invoking the salary bumps triggered by an additional season order."

2021 is a year that Gratiela Brancusi will probably never forget. In what seems like the blink of an eye, she became a fixture on TV thanks to her role in the TV series 1883 in which she plays a character named Noemi. The show marks her first (and currently only) on-screen role. However, those who have seen her work will agree that she carries herself with the poise of someone who has been in front of the camera for years. Gratiela may not have any other projects in the works at the moment, but we have a feeling that

I have a new, non-romantic supercouple to root for, and that couple is 1883‘s Elsa Dutton and Capt. Shea Brennan.
The way Brennan tends to Elsa and her gnawing, gutting, all-consuming grief in this week’s hour is one of the best things I’ve seen on TV recently. It’s a subtle and lovely exchange between two characters who at first don’t seem to have much — if anything — in common. And it made me hope for more interactions between Sam Elliott’s and Isabel May’s characters.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 1883 Episode 6 “Boring the Devil.”] Soon after heartbreak struck for Elsa Dutton (Isabel May) — Ennis (Eric Nelsen) was killed just as they were talking about their future together — Civil War vet and former slave Thomas (Lamonica Garrett) may have found his own bright light in the dark world of 1883. The prequel series follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains. Greene will play Spotted Eagle, a Crow elder who spots the wagon train and tells James Dutton about the place, Paradise Valley, where he should settle with his family.
Greene earned an Academy Award nomination for his role as Kicking Bird (Ziŋtká Nagwáka) in “Dances with Wolves.” He is also known for starring in films like “The Green Mile,” “Maverick,” and “Wind River,” the last of which was written and directed by “1883” creator and “Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan. Thanks for the help.” The trailer continues as you follow Dutton and his family attempting to travel west until they find “country’s worth the journey.” Clips are shown of the journey beginning to intensify, as Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott) attempts to control the traveling group, saying in one clip, “You can police yourselves or I can do it,...
