Stacie McCollum
- Executive
Stacie McCollum was named vice president, programming & acquisitions in October 2019. In this role, she serves as the point of contact for ESPN's business with the ACC, both within the company and externally. She also oversees cross-functional business strategies, programming vision, content acquisitions, and day-to-day business operations for both ACC Network (ACCN) and Longhorn Network (LHN), serving as the principal contact to the Atlantic Coast Conference and the University of Texas.
For ACCN, McCollum works hand-in-hand with leadership at the ACC and its member institutions to provide expert guidance and scheduling acumen in the development of the 24/7/365 day programming lineup of ACCN. Prior to October 2019, McCollum served as senior director, programming and acquisitions, where she was instrumental in ACCN's successful August 2019 launch. She also played a key role in negotiating the momentous 20-year rights deal between ESPN and the ACC to launch ACC Network and ESPN's multimedia rights agreement extension with the ACC.
For LHN, McCollum is the primary liaison to the University of Texas, providing leadership and input on all cross-functional strategies and initiatives to develop Texas-centric programming. McCollum is charged with maximizing ESPN's grant of rights with UT to grow revenue and expand LHN's reach.
McCollum was named director, programming & acquisitions, for LHN when it launched in 2011 and was promoted to senior director in 2015. Previously, she was director, programming and acquisitions, for ESPN overseeing management of NFL and golf across ESPN networks, platforms and businesses. Her charge included setting strategies to maximize ratings and revenue for NFL and golf content, manage relationships with internal and external partners and monitor financial goals. McCollum took on that role after three years of progressive responsibility in the programming department - associate manager, manager and senior manager - handling day-to-day duties for ESPN's NFL, NBA, NHL and golf properties (US Open, Masters, The Open Championship and Ryder Cup). In addition, she managed the network's relationship with figure skating rights holders including rights negotiations with the International Skating Union and U.S. Figure Skating.
McCollum joined ESPN from the NHL in 2004 where she had served as manager, TV production, since 2000. Prior to that, she worked for ESPN Regional in Charlotte, N.C., as clearance coordinator, and previously held a programming coordinator role at CBS Sports from 1996 to 1998.
McCollum graduated from Concordia University (Texas) with a B.A. in communications and broadcast journalism. She attended Concordia on an academic and athletic scholarship, playing defensive specialist for the school's volleyball team. Interestingly, LHN's headquarters are located on the former grounds of her alma mater, which relocated to another part of Austin, Texas.
