A new Grateful Dead LP collects previously unreleased live songs from the early to mid-Nineties that envisioned a potential track list for an unrecorded final studio album.
Band archivist David Lemieux curated the nine-song Ready or Not, which arrives November 22nd on CD, limited-edition double-lp and digital formats. Dead.net will offer an exclusive colored vinyl edition of the 2-lp (with one red and one blue disc), limited to 2,000 copies.

Rob Wasserman, a Grammy-winning bassist and composer best known for his long collaboration with Grateful Dead member Bob Weir, has died on Wednesday, CBSSFBayArea reported. He was 64. Weir had posted that Wasserman was in ill health earlier Wednesday, saying on Twitter, “My great friend Rob Wasserman is facing a serious health struggle today. Please share the strength of our family with him and his family.” Two hours later, the rocker tweeted that his “beautiful” friend had passed away. “May Rob’s warmth and music live in your hearts as it always has in mine,” Weir wrote. Lou Reed has announced details of an upcoming European tour this summer. The veteran singer - who released a joint album with Metallica titled Lulu last year - will tour From Vu to Lulu across June and July. The tour will begin on June 6 in Luxembourg and will hit various European festivals including France's Montereau Festival and Berlin's Citadel Music Festival. Reed's touring band will consist of Tony 'Thunder' Smith (drums), Rob Wasserman (bass), Kevin Hearn (keyboards), and Aram Bajakian (guitar). He will perform tracks from his entire back catalogue including material from his time with The Velvet Underground and his most recent Metallica collaboration.
