In the wake of John Hughes' sad and premature death, we can't help but examine the iconic oeuvre of the prolific filmmaker. Hughes' films shine in their persistent popularity among today's youth, many of whom cite "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Pretty In Pink" among their favorite films of all time. Though his most famous works pre-date this viewing population, the sincerity and innocence of these films transcend generations with their universal appeal.
Eschewing the trademark sassiness of the Oh Snap! Poll in favor of a more appropriate tone, today's poll is a tribute to Hughes' legacy.
Our stunningly unscientific poll results show that the "Home Alone" movies have a special place in our hearts, achieving a plurality of 42%. "The Breakfast Club" came in at a close second place with 33% of the vote, followed by "Ferris Beuller's Day Off" at 17% and "Pretty In Pink" at 8% (underrepresented in my opinion.
