Ben Lobato, co-showrunner of Alice Braga-starrer “Queen of the South,” a top-three Nielsen ratings performer for USA Network, has boarded “Hot Sur,” a fast-moving thriller set up at Pablo and Juan de Dios Larraín’s Fabula and at Fremantle Mexico, the burgeoning Mexican production hub of the global production-distribution giant.
Lobato will showrun the TV series, which will be helmed by Gabriel Ripstein, writer-director of acclaimed Mexican Amazon Original “An Unknown Enemy.”

Hey, "Queen Of The South" fans. We totally hope you guys had a blast watching episode 10 ,tonight, especially since it was indeed the finale episode for this current season 5. What's even more important and unfortunate is that episode 10 was the last episode of the series! That's right, guys. We've learned that this current season 5 of Queen Of The South is indeed the last season forever! According to the folks over at TV Line, the cancellation announcement was made back in early March 2021. During that time, executive producers Dailyn Rodriguez, Ben Lobato and David Friendly delivered a joint statement about the cancellation saying, "We could not be prouder of our entire cast and crew that joined us on this magnificent journey.
