Chris Ajemian, CEO & Founder of CATES, is a leading education consultant and learning designer. A member of both the National and International Associations of College Admissions Counselors, Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Med and Theater Arts from Boston College, where he received the J. Paul Marcoux Award for Academic & Artistic Excellence; his Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation, and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and MBA from The Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania. Recently, Chris has been recognized by the Obie Award-winning Chocolate Factory Theater in NYC with its "Artist in Industry" Award for his creative contributions to the education field, and is the featured expert in The Test & The Art of Thinking, a groundbreaking documentary that explores the role of standardized testing in American culture.
Over the last decade, Chris has restructured CATES to focus more of its resources on social innovation through technology and entertainment. Since, CATES has forged a relationship with the Maine Department of Education. In 2021, CATES produced the Maine DOE's 2021 MLTI Conference (America's largest student technology event) and began developing "EnGiNE", a new EdTech platform to foster innovation and excellence in education across Maine. Along similar lines, in collaboration with the Cross-Media Lab at Harvard GSE, CATES has designed a new school outside Berlin adjacent to Babelsberg FilmPark, the world's oldest large-scale film studio and supported the development of pedagogy at the intersection of entertainment and education. Recently, CATES became investors in Akademisk Boldklub, a Danish Football Club that leverages education strategies to develop its fanbase and community.
