Using buried Nazi secrets, the government’s plans to create a race of supersoldiers backfires when the experiment unleashes hell on earth. In Studio 407’s new sci-fi/horror comic series Night & Fog, author Alex Leung creates a nonstop, action-packed franchise that aims to appeal to a wide spectrum of genre fans—from those seeking old-school creature-invasion stories to gore enthusiasts craving pure adrenaline-soaked mayhem—but falls short on all counts.

Admittedly, the comic Night & Fog was off our radar, but was released last year and is now being optioned as a film. Try as we might to learn about it, it seems like it might be at least somewhat near the genre of zombies, considering co-author Matthew Bradford (a psudeoym) described the book as a "modern sci-fi spin on a bunch of classic monsters: Dracula, Mr. Hyde, zombies, the Invisible Man."
Set during World War II, the comic is about a chemical that gets dispersed on a military base and nearby village, turning all infected into some kind of mutating creature. Sounds like it could be zombie-related the way Outpost is often described as zombie-related.

Surprise, surprise, another little-known horror comic may be headed to film. Publisher Studio 407’s Night and Fog has been optioned by producers Gil Adler and Shane McCarthy. Comics and horror are familiar teritory for Adler, who has previously produced Constantine and the Tales From the Crypt series. Studio 407’s Alex Leung will also serve as a producer on Night and Fog.
Night and Fog is a WWII-era story about an infectious mist released on a military base that transforms its victims into creatures of the night. The human survivors attempt to destroy the creatures, but they adapt and transform again, becoming even more horrific and unstoppable.
I really don’t know what to make of this film because so many little-known horror comics are being optioned these days. The concept is interesting, so this one may have a chance of escaping the dreaded develoment hell of the movie business.

Sick of chocolate, Christmas and the warm cozy feeling of being with family? Well, good news: there's another horror comic set to be adapted for the screen, in the form of Studio 407's Night and Fog (not to be confused with the 1955 Holocaust documentary of the same name).Producers Shane McCarthy and Gil Adler have optioned the comic, which sees scientists on an island military base off the Canadian coast innocently following in the steps of Nazi research and accidentally unleashing a mysterious mist which transforms people into zombie-like (at first) monsters. The few remaining unaffected have to fight for their life against fog and an increasingly terrifying foe. The mini-series was written by Matthew Bradford and Alex Leung, and illustrated by Roberto Castro. You can read the first section of the first comic over here. Otherwise you'll have to keep eyes peeled in case producer Adler can turn...

Producer Gil "Superman Returns" Adler, noted for Warners "Constantine" and the upcoming "Dead Of Night", has optioned the Studio 407, six-issue horror comic book mini-series "Night & Fog", to be adapted as a feature film.
Shane McCarthy and "Night & Fog" co-creator Alex Leung will also produce.
Adler, who previously produced the "Tales From the Crypt" TV series, said that while "Night & Fog" was definitely in his 'strike zone' of 'genre trappings', what really grabbed him was the characters that drive the story.
Premise of the comics revolves around a secret World War II government experiment, conducted off the coast of Canada, whereby an 'infectious mist' is released into the air, turning people into terrifying creatures...

"Night and Fog" from publisher Studio 407 has been optioned by producers Gil Adler and Shane McCarthy. Studio 407's Alex Leung also produces. The sci-fi horror comicbook is set during WWII and tells of an infectious mist unleashed on a military base. This transforms its victims into preternatural creatures of the night. Survivors efforts to slay them are fruitless as they adapt, changing into something even more terrifying and unstoppable than before. Producers Gil Adler and Shane McCarthy have optioned Matthew Bradford and Alex Leung’s “Night and Fog.”
Originally published by Studio 407 in 2008 as a miniseries by Bradford and Leung along with artists Thomas Aira and Roberto Castro, “Night and Fog” follows a security guard’s attempt to escape a military base that is beset by a seemingly supernatural mist that transforms its victims into unkillable monstrosities.
“When I read this I knew I had to take it off the market,” said Adler in a recent press release. “It’s a great high-concept that blends the gothic horror of the Hammer films with the sci-fi horror of ‘Aliens’ and ‘The Thing.’”
Adler has previously produced several comic related films including “Superman Returns” and “Constantine.” He is also one of the producers of the upcoming “Dead of Night” — an adaptation of the popular Italian comic “Dylan Dog” — starring Brandon Routh.

Neal Marshall Stevens, screenwriter of the films Thirteen Ghosts and Hellraiser: Deader, has just inked a deal with comic book publisher Studio 407 to pen two comic series: the futuristic action thriller Havoc Brigade and a horror adventure story entitled Demon Squad. Back in Horrorwood, Neal is currently hard at work writing the latest Amityville sequel, The Amityville Tapes. Fangoria sat down with Stevens to ask a few questions about his upcoming series, and the differences between working in the comics industry versus the world of film...
Fangoria: So Neal, how did you get involved with Havoc Brigade, and with Studio-407?
Neal Marshall Stevens: I first met Alex Leung, the head of Studio-407, almost ten years ago, when he was working for New Line Cinema. He was looking for a writer to work on The Ring when it was initially set up there. Unfortunately, it didn't work out but...

Studio 407 has announced a deal for its Hybrid series to become a motion picture to be directed by Ernie Barbarash (Cube Zero). The four issue miniseries has garnered good reviews and a trade collection will be released from Bluewater Productions on February 25.
The deal is part of an earlier agreement granting Myriad Pictures (Jeepers Creepers II) a first-look partnership. Production on the film, which has yet to be cast, is expected in 2009.
Written by Peter Kwong, the story focuses on four friends who rent a schooner then discover a derelict trawler. When they spot a little girl waving to them, they feel compelled to offer assistance but quickly discover she is not alone. The story has ecological themes in addition to thrills, blood, and mutant creatures.
Studio 407 is a small studio run by managing director and film producer Alex Leung (Around the World in 80 Days).
