Alexander Schirmann was no longer able to work in the National Socialist Germany. He was deported to the KZ Auschwitz where he died at the end of 1942.
His last cinematical work as a composer came in 1930 into being with "Wenn Du noch eine Heimat hast" (1930).
The height of his career als a filmcomposer followed in the 20s.
The filmcomposer Alexander Schirmann joined the film business very early and he already wrote his first film music for "Die Welt ohne Männer" (1914).
